the problem is, tap water seems to taste disgusting everytime I drink it... Even my fridge water tastes like crap... So I just use room temperature store bought water bottles..... And throw them in the fridge. Some people may agree with me, this is just my opinion...
For over 6 years, I used Gerber baby bottles to warm up my son's milk in the microwave - day and night! I thought the plastic was safe because it's a baby bottle! Hey, and it's Gerber! Well, guess what ... I was wrong! After watching this video today, I was curious and I looked at the bottom of the bottle and it shows 7. I should have listenned to my mom! she's more traditional, old fashioned! She warmed up the milk in a glass bottle, on the stove, inside a pan with boiling water....
Majority of plastics are unsafe due to a danger everyone is overlooking. They're UV active. Now for most of you this will seem insignificant but for a scientist such as myself, I know the true danger of this reaction.
This reaction means this plastic serves as a filter that is highly conductive of UV light. This means that while your food beverages sit in these containers under supermarket lights, they are being irradiated.
It is literally destroying AND contaminating these beverages.
UV radiation is ionizing. This means the water is exchanging particles with the plastic container and you are drinking plastic. Personally, I can taste it when I drink bottled water and just smell the bottle after it's empty, you can smell the gas still releasing from the plastic because it's been destabilized.
You also overlooked what it's doing to food beverages and food.
Feel free to keep ingesting irradiated drink and food though smart guy!
I'm still trying to find some gallon sized glass jars to store my fridge water and transfer my fruit juice into. Can't find them anymore! Just a decade ago you could buy the gallon sized iced tea jars with built in spouts for 5 bucks.
all plastic bottles do this,,,, all of them not just a number 7,,,, this is a smoke screen because people all know that plastic bottles are dangerouse, so lets tell them its a number and not all bottles and confuse the sheep!!!!,,,,,
herding the sheep is fun
no bottles not even polyethinal are safe thats bull !!!!
see even the guy he chats to gives, this is a smoke screen, get rid of plastic
the companies want them cus there cheap to make and they test on the consumer
@Mariezee44 Its not contradictory b/c they said "some # 7's contain BPA" Plastic #7 is a catch all plastic meaning its not always 1 type of plastic being made Unlike #1, 2, 5 etc You know what you're getting with those Nalgene bottles are #7 and do not contain BPA. The new "Tritan Copolyester" plasic i believe has been lumped into the #7 category as well and is believed to be the safest plastic (more independant testing is needed) along with #5 Polypropylene. Just stick with #5, Nalgene, Tritan
Wake UP!!!! Look up, Research the east Europien countries.(under comunisem)....!!?Mostly there are alot of things that dont show anything about what kind of Poisen they are using. Wake up...Say No to Poisen in our FOOD and Water..
Hmmm, you smell that? Yep, that's the smell of horse shit coming for them and this debate. I don't believe this a single bit, and believe it all hype and little effect really.
Question. Why are number 1's safe on first use? What if they sat in hot temperatures for months before used? Think about transportation in hot trucks across country.
My 16 year old daughter developed a goiter in her neck which turned out to be hyperthyroidism. She went to a doctor for check ups, did the blood test every so often and took her thyroid medicines for 2 years. I did some reserch online one day and found out about plastic causing hormone problems so I got rid of 90% of all plastics and got glass or ceramic dishes. Her thyroid is normal now. We eat organic foods and watch for chemicals in body products too.
@dhearndon stay away form aspartame,,,its a nutra sweet and its in diet sodas and stuff liek that even childrens vitamins this chemical is so deadly look on youtube and your be thanking me,, beleive me your see,,

I'm taking back all my Nalgene Bottles to REI. We have a breastfed 6 month old and have been drinking out of Nalgene bottles for years. If REI takes them back they keep us as customers if not they lose us. This is how important this is to us.
Now your betting me worried now I need to check my water bobble

@JonDeth You can give a bottle of water as much UV radiation as you like and it's not going to hurt you when you drink it.
