i did everything you said and patched it and then opened up zsnes and selected super metroid hack i was wanting to play and zsnes exits out what did i do wrong??
as far as im aware, the newer versions of most emulators automatically apply patches without needing to actually "apply" them with Lips. the catch is they need the same name, in the same folder, without being compressed.
I tried to apply the Final Fantasy III bugfix patch to said game, and when I tried to load the game it said, "Invalid Zip Archive."

Why do some roms patched with lunar can't play on ZSNES?
I patched several SMW roms with ips from smwcentral and they all failed.
In ZSNES they only displayed some weird stuff at the bottom of a black screen (NOT "checksum failed", that usually doesn't matter anyway).
