Hello everyone. I have a xfx 4870 512mb.I5 ati-750 2.66 ghz 4 gb ram ddr3 corsair 560W psu and coller master (* 2 +12 V - 18/17A). The video card in control panel by a vote of 6 ????. how is it possible? And I have low fps in every gioco.quando put the video card in my friend's computer works great. What does it depend? answer me
@Crysis2ful Did you miss out on plugging in the power cable into the back? Did you put it in a different slot? Not all PCI-E slots are made equal, usually the top one is 16x and below it might be an 8x and then below a 4x. Finally make sure you remove the driver, and reinstall it. Although this card is old now and not that good. Your 4870 is only half that of just one card. Not an x2
Kind of isn't fair though, used water cooling on the SLI cards but stock on the ATI cards, im sure if the ATI cards were water cooled they'd do alot better.. :D

ive had other crossfire systems and one i ran 2 x1900gt cards"IN CROSSFIRE" and there was no connecters between the 2 cards,other than the cards recognizing each other over the pci-e bus.the connector doesn't fucking matter,THERE COULD BE NO CONNECTOR OR 6 CONNECTORS,its the cards,a 4870 or 4850 x2 is 2 fucking video cards,WHY DON'T YOU GET THIS?

that might be ok,i ran 2 8800gt oc cards in sli with a 550 watt enermax but as soon as i tried to run 2 9800gtx+ cards it wouldnt run them because it just wasnt enough,a power supply thats not really expensive that will run them FOR SURE is the ANTEC 650 TRIO,i have this psu running my 295gtx,a 9800gtx+,5 harddrives and 6 fans so its a really good psu.

You do know there's a Radeon HD 5970 out, right? with is not a dual card like the GTX 295, but still is twice as guud. If we put the GTX 295 in quad SLI against a 5970 Crossfire X... the Radeon HD 5970 will win with an extreme marginal.
the 5970 is a dual gpu card,it has 2 5870 gpus on it ,slightly downclocked and EXACTLY THE SAME as the 295 gtx,2 gpu's on one card.
now if the 295 gtx had the same amount of gddr5 memory it would actually CRUSH the ati 5970 dual gpu card,its close as it is now using gddr3 ram so really the 295gtx is a brutal fast card still and much cheaper than a 5970 card,so better bang for the buck
and i own and use this type of high end equipment daily and i read about it from all sources ,so please dont think watching youtube videos will make you more educated that i am.
currently i have a 295 gtx system with a 9800gtx+ for physics,quad core oced to 3.7 ghz,6 gigs of ram and about 2000 gigs of space,i also have a 4xcrossfire motherboard and when the 5850/5870 cards reduce prices i might buy 3 or 4 of them or 2 5970 cards possibly.
but yes the 5970 is definetly faster than the 295 gtx BUT the new nvidia 470gtx and 480 gtx are both faster than the 5970 card,so things are going to get crazy now with nvidia having super fast cards again,i hope it keeps the prices down down down!!

2 5750 cards are weaksuck(why waste your money,buy one 5870 instead?) and 2 4870x2 cards are equivelant to 4 cards,so why would it be an issue to compare 3 nvidia cards to 2 dual gpu ati cards?

now a 5850 is like a downclocked 5870,similar to it but also cut down and gimped!2 5870 cards are faster than a 5970 because they lower the power and clocks on a 5970 to stay under the 300watt envelope of power usage.if you have a brutal psu you can clock them back up.
do you actually understand the ATI CARDS ARE DUAL GPU,this means theyre essentially 2 4870 cards on one pcb.

500 will kill it.. It requires at least a 650W, but that's BS. I would get a 1000W just to be safe, especially if you run a lot of drives, fans, etc. The extra juice helps me a lot

btw, the this is a bit biased, trying to benchmark with solely using 3d mark vantage or anything else that sounds similar will give you a score that favors nvidia cards mainly because 3d mark and nvidia is owned by the same company thus meaning 3d mark intentionally uses test that feature Physx (don't know the right spelling) and Cuda, both are only featured on nvidia cards. both ATI and Nvidia have their pros and cons, but 3d mark vantage will always show nvidia has better cards.

the ATI radeon 4870hd has already bin put against the 280 and beat it on most of the newest current games it has GDDR5 memory making the bandwith a hell of alot bigger than the 280. the arcitecture of the cards is different so some games will run better/worse on each but if you just get 2 4870s in crossfire you will destroy a single 280 and guess what cause ati are good unlike nvidea its still a hell of alot cheaper lol
nvidia may be better but they really have redicilous prices, ATI cards have a nice price with a nice performance and that's more than enough for me, i dont to pay 200 euros more to get 12 extra framerates XD money aint growing on trees

Not necessarily. I payed 200 bucks for a 1000 watt power supply and it burnt out in less than a week. I RMA'd it and got another one. It did the same thing. So I ordered a different PSU with the same wattage and is a different brand but it was only 100 dollars. I've been using it for about a month or two now and it hasn't burnt out or anything on me yet.

I like Nvidia but its too expensive. And plus This video shows X2 ATI Crossfire VS GTX 280 3 way SLI. Come on 2 way Crossfire VS 3 way SLI? There is no competing because ATI is 1 card short. People should know that ATI has 4 way crossfire. I have a motherboard running 4 ATI x1950 PRO 4 way and a 45nm Intel core 2 QUAD Extreme the fastest nm processor you can buy. My graphics is excellent. But whatever XFX graphic cards are the best even though XFX uses the nvidia processor.
4870x2 in crossfire = 4 GPUS. For the price i would go ati, currently. Nvidia also has cuda which improves these scores, but not so in gaming. In gaming, or with cuda out of the picture you would have different results. I stick by ati.
Luckily with the new x58 boards almost all support SLI or crossfire do whatevers cheapest and (RUNS) games the best is what gamers will be purchasing.
4870x2s have horrible drivers atm, especially in quad crossfire.
however, 2 gtx 295s in quad SLI has microstutter.
However, 3 GTX 285s vs. 4870x4, I would choose the 285s- they are much better performance even though 1 less card. that would be way more expensive though.
all in all 4890s in crossfire is cheap and awesome, although 285s beat it, its way cheaper

The GTX 280 will beat the 4870 in a majority of the games and this is coming from an ATi fan. The 4870 was aimed to be a great card for it's price and it was more directly competing with the GTX 260 which Nvidia later came out with the Core 216 to compete with the 4870.

haha look up the stats. the GTX295 munches the HD4870X2. the benchmarks showed that the GTX295 gets double the framerate of a 4870X2. ATI got owned again by nvidia.

You do know there's a Radeon HD 5970 out, right? with is not a dual card like the GTX 295, but still is twice as guud. If we put the GTX 295 in quad SLI against a 5970 Crossfire X... the Radeon HD 5970 will win with an extreme marginal.

the 5970 is a dual gpu card,it has 2 5870 gpus on it ,slightly downclocked and EXACTLY THE SAME as the 295 gtx,2 gpu's on one card.
now if the 295 gtx had the same amount of gddr5 memory it would actually CRUSH the ati 5970 dual gpu card,its close as it is now using gddr3 ram so really the 295gtx is a brutal fast card still and much cheaper than a 5970 card,so better bang for the buck

currently i have a 295 gtx system with a 9800gtx+ for physics,quad core oced to 3.7 ghz,6 gigs of ram and about 2000 gigs of space,i also have a 4xcrossfire motherboard and when the 5850/5870 cards reduce prices i might buy 3 or 4 of them or 2 5970 cards possibly.

500 will kill it.. It requires at least a 650W, but that's BS. I would get a 1000W just to be safe, especially if you run a lot of drives, fans, etc. The extra juice helps me a lot

btw, the this is a bit biased, trying to benchmark with solely using 3d mark vantage or anything else that sounds similar will give you a score that favors nvidia cards mainly because 3d mark and nvidia is owned by the same company thus meaning 3d mark intentionally uses test that feature Physx (don't know the right spelling) and Cuda, both are only featured on nvidia cards. both ATI and Nvidia have their pros and cons, but 3d mark vantage will always show nvidia has better cards.

the ATI radeon 4870hd has already bin put against the 280 and beat it on most of the newest current games it has GDDR5 memory making the bandwith a hell of alot bigger than the 280. the arcitecture of the cards is different so some games will run better/worse on each but if you just get 2 4870s in crossfire you will destroy a single 280 and guess what cause ati are good unlike nvidea its still a hell of alot cheaper lol

Not necessarily. I payed 200 bucks for a 1000 watt power supply and it burnt out in less than a week. I RMA'd it and got another one. It did the same thing. So I ordered a different PSU with the same wattage and is a different brand but it was only 100 dollars. I've been using it for about a month or two now and it hasn't burnt out or anything on me yet.

I like Nvidia but its too expensive. And plus This video shows X2 ATI Crossfire VS GTX 280 3 way SLI. Come on 2 way Crossfire VS 3 way SLI? There is no competing because ATI is 1 card short. People should know that ATI has 4 way crossfire. I have a motherboard running 4 ATI x1950 PRO 4 way and a 45nm Intel core 2 QUAD Extreme the fastest nm processor you can buy. My graphics is excellent. But whatever XFX graphic cards are the best even though XFX uses the nvidia processor.

4870x2 in crossfire = 4 GPUS. For the price i would go ati, currently. Nvidia also has cuda which improves these scores, but not so in gaming. In gaming, or with cuda out of the picture you would have different results. I stick by ati.
Luckily with the new x58 boards almost all support SLI or crossfire do whatevers cheapest and (RUNS) games the best is what gamers will be purchasing.

4870x2s have horrible drivers atm, especially in quad crossfire.
however, 2 gtx 295s in quad SLI has microstutter.
However, 3 GTX 285s vs. 4870x4, I would choose the 285s- they are much better performance even though 1 less card. that would be way more expensive though.
all in all 4890s in crossfire is cheap and awesome, although 285s beat it, its way cheaper

The GTX 280 will beat the 4870 in a majority of the games and this is coming from an ATi fan. The 4870 was aimed to be a great card for it's price and it was more directly competing with the GTX 260 which Nvidia later came out with the Core 216 to compete with the 4870.

If he's doing multiple card set-up then he needs to do it with 2 280s & 2 Heych-Dee 4870x2. If I make you laugh with my comments then laugh. Before this video this fool did a review on ONE 4870x2 ^ ONE GTX 280, & look at the results. So now he makes a vid about multiple card set-ups. But his set-up is clearly not fair. for the record "which can only be in dual sli," i mean the HD 4870x2 also if the HD 4870x2 cannot beat 3 gtx 280's, which it would in a game because of internal CF, scaling better then with the ribbon and the cards being faster themselves, i believe that this is not a biased video as with 3 cards scaling poorly after the 2nd card and two incredibly fast cards i would assume levels the playing field. discuss?

i agree,but anyway,personally i think this is an unfair comparison,even tho ati has dual gpu in each card,its never the same as 2 separate cards,and u cnt compare that ati has more gpus in the vid,it doesnt count as much,and besides its still 1 card,so its 2 vs 3,a bit unfair...
