  • Love the sound ! Why did you choose the Voodoo Labs for a booster over a Tube screamer? And can you tell me what kind of a mod did Keeley do for the pedal? Is it a dramatic difference from the stock pedal? Thanks...

  • @guitarslinger006 Keeley upgraded the caps... Made the drive more like a tube screamer. The Voodoo Labs has a blend control where you can blend the amps natural sound back in. So it puts the amps true sound back in. Very transparent pedal that does alot.

  • Wish the video was clearer....very pixed :(

  • @timothycomer Sorry about that. It was a older sony cyber shot camera.

  • Man. That is an awesome tone! I have a JVM and the G Major 2. I would love to be able to dial in this tone! I'm sure you get asked for the settings all the time. I saw you have some delay, reverb and pitch but if you could post a little more specifics that would be awesome. Great playing btw! Love the 80s!

  • hi!! which amp do you prefer?? the dual rec or the mesa stiletto???

  • @fanelly That's a tough call... The rec has more beef to it and the Stiletto is more of an British sound.

  • Dude, Splawn soudns sick & nice chops & Les PAul too!

  • @Superchixxx Love your videos too by the way...

  • So, is this amp really good for 80s rock and metal? lol i love marshalls but i also love the sound of this amp in this video!!!

  • settings please

  • You can tell it's frickin loud!!! Well done.

  • hi Taylor

i also have a mesa dual recto... your sound is great... i ask you if you can tell me that channel you used in this video, the mode of channel and setting of eq...

thanks so much guy!!! YOU ROCK!!!

  • @ANDYROCK76 It was channel 2 modern... Gain 2:00, Bass 12:00 Treb. 3:00 Mids - 10:00 Pres 1:00

  • you just got one new fan, you should make tons more of you jamming but with a better cam and close up on your guitar

  • Awesome tone man. I like the way you play

  • Dude your playing so many Van Halen riffs its not even funny haha

  • Very cool !! Big tone

  • What kind of camera were you using? The picture is outstanding. Otherwise great playing.

  • BREAKIN THE CHAINS! HELL YA!

  • I love that you make it look so easy! awesome playing man. props!

    Cheers-

  • nice job man, what processor are u using? TC G major?

  • you sound like a GIT guy. Great playing

  • Thank you... You're too kind... I'm more of a KFC guy... But thanks for the compliment.

  • rofl that was on point! Dude I'm an 80's guitarist too...hit me up I got some questions about your rig lets talk shop!

  • Hey yo man

wich song of lynch is this on 5:50?

  • That's actually Van Halen Take Your Whiskey Home.

  • Sounds like Lynch to me!!!! great job!!!!!

  • Goddamn Tone!!!! Great playing too. Can you give me the settings you used? THanks.

  • any chance you would be willing to share your settings on both the DR and your sparkle drive? I just picked up a DR yesterday and would love to try out some of your settings. Your sound is killer!

  • nvm i found it, cheers!

  • awesome playing!

whats the name of the first riff you played? it totally slipped my mind

    love the stiletto clips too

    nice job!

  • excelent tone! !! :|

  • fucking SICK!!!!!

  • hey man what settings did you use for this

  • What channell did you use? Thank you!

  • Channel 2 Modern...

  • thanks for the reply

  • fucking great tone as i commented earlier!do you use the oversized rectifier cab or the traditional? I just cant seem to get the tight response im looking for. Ive tried the el 34s ive bought the bad monkey overdrive. Still trying to tighten her up a bit any sugestions?

  • I am using Marshall JCM 900 cabs... If you can get you hands on a VooDoo Labs Sparkle Drive that helps since you can add the amps natural tone back in with the overdrive...

  • Thats' some pretty good classic-Lynch tone, reminiscent of "Under Lock & Key" and "Back For The Attack"...

  • You've got what I call "Stadium Tone"... Fuckin' MONSTER sound you've got going on. And don't think "No Remorse" and "Ronnie" went unnoticed :-D 2 of my faves right there. You need to post some vids using the Tri going through the Stiletto's power section... Just a humble request :) Rock on brother!

  • Awesome!!! I should have never sold me MP1. Anyway, I am probably going to get the Dual Rec and run it through my Marshall 1960BX cab. It should sound killer. I have NO effects though anymore. So it's just the Les Paul and Dual rec for me until I decide what effects would be good.

  • You are a monster player. I've got the dual rec but you just made me flex the credit card for the TC. What are you switching the TC with and have you worked out the amp channel controls via midi? Thanks Man, Awesome and inspiring. J

  • Here is a run down of my rack...

Furman Power Supply, Shure T4 Wireless, Korg Tuner, T.C. Electronics G-Major, ADA MP-1, Mesa Boogie Tri-Axis...

The Tri-Axis Controls the Amps channel switching with 1/4' cables pluged into the back of the Dual Rec. Here is how I run my Midi... Midi Foot Controller into ADA MP-1, From there to the Tri-Axis then to the TC... Voodoo Labs Makes a switcher that does the same thing... But I had both of these Pre-amps before I owned my Dual Rec. so I just use them...

  • Are you using the ADA or Tri-axis in this vid, or is this is demo of just the dual rec's tone?

  • The ADA is just a midi controller... The Tri-Axis controls channel switching on the Dual Rec... It just the Dual Recs tone with the TC G-Major And A Voodoo Labs Sparkle Drive.

  • Oh and also is that a stock les paul?

  • Seymour Duncan Custom in The bridge and a stock neck...

  • Are you running delay into the amp to give your tone reverb? I was told time-based effects sound unnatural when placed infront of tube amp saturation but this sounds damn good.

  • I am running the TC Electronics G-Major through the effects loop... And this paticular setting may have reverb on it... I can't remember... But it's mostly Delay and Pitch...

As I mentioned to some other people I am also running a VooDoo Labs Sparkle Drive modded by Keeley Electronics... IT;s used more for a boost... And with the clean control on the pedal I can mix more of the natural tone back in...

  • Hm, so does the amp run the reverb or delay before or after the pre and power amp stages?

  • The loop places the effect after the pre and before the power tubes... I believe that's the case....

  • cool thanks. your tone kills btw.

  • Great sound and great playing bro.

  • Cool! I love Lynch!!!! What kind of cab/speakers are you using?

  • JCM 900 Cabs with 75's

  • wow! Amazing killer tone man!

  • One I made... Just Delay and Pitch...

  • Is that a factory preset on the G-Major or one of your own user ones???

    Killer tone!!!

  • Lynch is my all time favorite and you definitely have his chops and vibe down. Fantastic playing!

  • that TC Electronic G-major sure does improve the tone of that amp

  • Holy Crap, if it sounds this good on the tube, imagine how it sounds live. You have a great tone dude.

  • rock on

  • i duno if u play and hendrix stuff but im getin a dual rec 4 heavy stuff but i like hendrix 2 can that thing with the el34 get a nice hendrix tone?

  • On the clean channel you have two choices clean & pushed... The pushed setting would get you close to a Hendrix type sound...

  • Wow!!!...what a tone...awesome!!!

You are forgiven for the poor picture with a tone like that!!!

One of the best tones on youtube dude!!!!

  • It's the newer 3-Channel...

  • nice man is that the older 2 channel dual or the new 3 channel

  • good stuff bro.

  • One of the best DUAL REC tones on YouTube.

    Very nice

  • Thanks... I have EL34's in it raither than the 6L6's... And my Keeley modified Voodoo Labs Sparkle Drive doesn't hurt either... I am hoping Santa will bring me a Stiletto for Christmas.

  • Killer tone man. EL34s are much warmer and less "biting" than the 6L6 Mesa tone. The combo of a good EL34 tube amp and a good cab with Celestion G12T75s is deadly!

  • your hearing more of the amps tone. by nature el34 tubes are brighter sounding with less mid emphasis. 6L6s are more mid heavy (lower mids)and punchy. american tubes are more girthy than british tubes. has to do with consumer demand back in the good old days of tube radios.

  • TONE that will bring a tear to your eye !! Frickin GREAT tone and feel my brother ! Tight....Keep on Rockin, Rodney
