@COOLJC09 - RIGHT!!!! That's the reason we came is all - to praise the LORD! I came out of the COGIC and that would always irritate me. COGIC is one of the dancin-ist denoms, why sing a rising song, or preach an anointed message, or have firey testimony and NOT let the people praise God?? Who cares about the "Long way to go"? When God comes in cut the other foolishness out the program. Especially Mr. Clean White pointing to his watch - you ain't in charge!!!! Sorry. Hee!

I remember when my chouch choir song this years ago. loved it then and i do now.

Now for that "YES" song. There's a time for it and that wasn't it. She needed to let them go in. If she don't have a friend in Jesus or don't have anything to take to the Lord in prayer, then she needed sit this shout out. you cant control the spirit when its flowing.

@biggdrew17 That was the late Mattie Moss Clark and back in the day that was the churches way to move service along. Sometimes it worked, sometimes it didn't. Jesus was her friend and I know she is now resting in his bosom. A lot of things were done out of habit. Now that we know better we do better.

This was one of the greatest gospel artist ever,he wrote a lot of songs with The Washington Temple C.O.G.I.C. Mass Choir and he has always used a great band especially his drummers and bass players.There was a song that he did in the early eighties which was called God Is Just A Prayer Away which was on his Testify album which I can never find a copy of.

I remember hearing this song at my home church, back in 1987 at New Testatment Holiness in Charlotte, NC. Boy!!!!!, they sang this song the dead. I miss them days, when people was not scared to shout. I can still hear my later grandmother shouting her hair down!!!! RIP, Emma Louise Allen-Taylor, Rest on.

I know it wasn't less than 300 plus 'cause I was in this choir- sing altos! I remember rehearsals with Dr. Clark. I recall sitting next to Carol Thomas during one of these rehearsals. She was a singing somebody too, despite being blind. Uncle Timothy, you remain in our prayers! "Jesus Will, Yes he Will- Jesus Will Oh yes He Will" allow us to hear you sing and preach again soon!

UNAC stands for 'United National Auxillaries Convention' and no COGIC no longer has this convention. It's equivallent would be the AIM Convention, 'Auxillaries In Ministry'.
