Great video. Just a lil help required please !!! The clips, such as the given examples, how did it stop automatically??? Like the crash, it played once then stopped automatically.. How to stop from looping ? (since you did press the 'stop button' of the clip. HELP!

@mudithead Double click the clip you want to stop, at the bottom of the screen there should be a loop button that is selected, unselect it :)

As TymaxBeta said it's all about preference. I know a lot of people are loving Ableton and that's great but i just don't get on with it, which is a huge shame cos i was hoping to get on with it. But i don't.

FL is almost insultingly easy to use compared to Dis-ableton. If you fall over in the time it takes you to get back up and dust yourself down you could have written a choon on Fruity! I don't mean to sound like a dick and use such way out metaphors but seriously, Live has given zero results and provided nothing but headaches.

Actually, Ableton is something I understand easier than FL Studio.

+1 to TymaxBeta, it's all preference, newbs should try out everything.

It's weird, i can use cakewalk, fruity loops, Logic Studio, 26 track desks and i DJ and i even used to own a TB-303, but i cannot for the life of me get a single solitary noise out of Ableton (apart from the metronome) and it's meant to be intuitive and the 'easiest' to use! Un-albleton, more like.

FL Studio is one of the most difficult to use programs I have used, its all about preference man, this program is made for live performance, hence the name, but because of how different and intuitive it is it's being used in the studio every day, I used to think it was hard, but this programs one of the best for beginners, and advanced musicians alike, I'm not being payed, but I do believe everything I just said to be a fact, and I love Ableton...

@TymaxBeta Try arming your track and making sure your midi device is setup, the track you want to record on or hear must be arned and it should be red, its under the track number ans S (solo) button.

Off topic. Just a short question; I've produced some songs in Ableton and I would like to post them on youtube. Do I need to export them as video? I've got Live 7 LE, so I doubt it's possible to export them as video.....

The best you can do is making or taking a video you like with about the same length as your audio (if you want to put all songs in one video make the video as long as your audio of course). Now you need to export your audio as wav. This format has a pretty big size, so I recommend Audacity with the plug-in LAME (search google) import the wav file here and export it as an mp3 file. Now put your audio on your video (make sure it has not a too big size) and load it up!

export your song as an mp3. assuming you have windows, open up windows movie maker. Import your mp3 into it. After that, all I did was grabbed a picture or 2, stretch them across the top of the audio track (you'll see it when you're actually there) line it up with the audio all the way to the end. I googled this info, so if I confuse you, just google "make youtube video using windows movie maker" That'll surely get you there

Hi!I use Live in rewire with Reason.all the sounds come from Reason.I only use Live as sequencer and mixer(fx).how can i achieve the scenes situation using no clips but the arrengement window?I mean,how can I loop a measure from a marker for example?thanks

Version 7 is the latest, so 6 is out-of-date, but not really "old".

You can upgrade to 7 for relatively cheap, though.
