I saw them when i was much younger in venues which didn't have a stage. When i saw them in akron they were as much part of the pit as performing. I spent a long time thinking of them as sellouts. But now i'm a damned adult and as long as their politics have changed, im fine with them changing. I think this is a badass performance. Although last time i saw them everybody up front was trying to get them to play "Nah Nah Nah" to no avail. that was a bummer

Libertarian socialism, or democratic socialism for the win;) But most most punk bands don't get that into it.. or don't know enough. Either way, I see it as more about frustration and a desire for change, be it often ill guided. It's when it turns into a social identity with a set doctrine that it gets messy.

well the thing with that is that the label likely has the majority of the publishing rights so that they can use those songs to promote whatever they'd like. It's not like they're Led Zeppelin and have 100% of the rights to their music. It's one of the drawbacks with going to the majors. A plus is that their music reaches more ears and can open more eyes to their message.

when i hear against me fans bitch about the new album and change in the band i always wonder if they've seen the band live recently. cause ive seen them on their past 2 tours and they played just as energetic as they did the first time i saw them years ago. not to mention last time i saw them they played 5 songs off of reinventing axl rose.

the whole anarchism thing was only really a phase tom had i think. though he says he is still an anarchist, hes grown out of the whole "fuck the system" thing. baby im an anarchist was kinda mocking extremists... well i think so anyway. :)

what the hell is wrong with success? if id been workin my ass off for 15 years, doin the stuff i love but having to eat lima beans for lunch everyday id jump at the chance if nike wanted to use one of my songs! more opportunities to get new people to hear my songs? hell yeah! they shouldnt have to play in toilets forever, they have massive songs that the WORLD should hear. WOO!

it depends on how they changed it i think the new stuff is good but i kinda like the older a bit better but there still both good. the bad kind of changing music is anti-flag, who wewnt from hardcore political punk to poppy shit

What? Wait. What?! Is it because they progressed? I mean, no matter how great it was and is, it would be kinda boring if they made Reinventing Axl Rose three times, wouldn't it? I love Searching For A Former Clarity, probably even more than Reinventing Axl Rose, and New Wave isn't bad at all! But I guess it is a matter of opinion, and if you like the older, punkier stuff, that's cool :)

well the thing with that is that the label likely has the majority of the publishing rights so that they can use those songs to promote whatever they'd like. It's not like they're Led Zeppelin and have 100% of the rights to their music. It's one of the drawbacks with going to the majors. A plus is that their music reaches more ears and can open more eyes to their message.
