  • I really hope this takes off. It pretty much sums up what most people want in a gaited horse: well trained, obedient, and able to handle the arena and trails. I think this is a great way to show to the horse world what a good gaited horse can do. Not just some weird moving horse high-stepping in the arena.

  • What a beautiful video and such beautiful horses. I love to see gaited horses.

  • Id also like to add that i think this is a wonderful show! It shines such a positive light on gaited horses and just how versitile they can be. its wonderfully run, extremely open minded, and very safety concious putting the best interest of the horses first!

  • are the riders aware of dressage principles and using them in the dressage phase? I saw one woman with her hands way up in the air on a pinto SB in the dressage ring as if she was riding Saddle Seat, and other riders riding their horses in their natural huge walk on the bit - or as close as possible to that. Do they realize a dressage horse must bend, accept the bit, all that? Or is it just a pattern to ride without those requirements? Just curious.

  • In the dressage part of the video it states the requirements: "showing the will move in straight lines, bend it's body to follow the line of a curve, respond to sensitive aids, and maintain a steady gait with even tempo." The tests are from the FEI. Doing dressage on a gaited horse is slightly different from doing it on a warmblood or QH type. I agree a horse should be on the bit, collected, have a rounded frame, and be responsive-However, some 'real' dressage horses do not meet that requirement

  • where is this located?

  • Wow that's awesome. I want to participate. What is the name of the organization and do they have a website? or how do I get into contact with them? Where is the current competition held?

  • Wow, what a great video! I am going to forward to all my Peruvian Paso buddies!
