Can somene please tell me what Lisa's character was like in the game? I'm only familiar with her character in the movie.

@Sanana135 In the original Silent Hill video game for the PSX, Lisa was a nurse in the hospital where they were keeping Alessa, and is Alessa's caregiver. Traumatized and sick of Alessa's terrible state, she tries to murder Alessa - hoping to ease her pain. She is caught, and killed later on - and becomes the first Bobble Nurse to be reanimated by Alessa. Unaware of her own death, she helps the protagonist navigate the hospital, and uncover it's mysteries...

They should re-do the movie so it's a movie version of the first game. Radha Mitchell was excellent, but there's an empty feeling without Kaufman, Harry, and Lisa. If not that, than at least make a Silent Hill 2 with James and a Pyramid Head that actually belongs. Although, I'm afraid that would exacerbate the problem with Silent Hill movie adaption.

To KxK96: You're right. He did supply drugs for both the Order and Lisa Garland. She was addicted to a drug he had, which he used to ensure that Lisa wouldn't tell what they did. Kaufman is only associated with the Order, not an actual member.

Alessa Gillespie was born out of wedlock, her mother, Dahlia, either did not know, or just chose not to name her father. To the people in the cult, immaculate sex is a sin. Alessa was treated like shit, like worthless nothing, like a troq if you'll excuse the TT reference, because of something that she had no control over, her conception. Nobody except Dahlia bothered to get to know Alessa as a person. All this bestowed upon a young lady who was nothing less than benevolent.

They referred to her as 'The Red Nurse' they didn't even credit her as 'Lisa Garland'!

I don't think they really needed her in the story line for the movie.

This little girl's acting was the only thing that I had a problem with. The thing is, before she filmed this, she did a movie called Tideland, in which she gives an outstanding performance; carrying the entire movie by herself.

I love Chris Gans' work. But some directors just don't know how to direct children.

I love the movie, but I don't like what they did with Lisa. She was such a great and tragic character in the game, and her "death" was an incredible scene. In the movie, she's, uhm, nothing, which is kinda sad. The movie would be much better with Harry and more Lisa, yay. Still, it's an amazing movie and so much fun to watch.

no all the monsters are based on real people.

if you play the original silent hill you'll notice this

alessa notes that she hates hospitals, so nurses and doctors are monsters. she also got teased at school so (as long as its not the PAL version) there are the grey children enemies (in the US release). etc.

lisa was one of the few characters alessa has some feelings for because she kept alessa alive and cared for her so she allowed her to keep her sanity as a monster but she was a real person

Lisa discovered what the Cult did to Alessa, and managed to bring Cheryl out of Silent Hill, so that the Evil God couldn't complete his birth. Kaufmann discovered that and killed her. While still working in the Alchemilla Hospital Kaufmann drugged her with the White Claudia to keep her under control, so she was also a drug addicted
