@AdventEdge No need to get all angry. The install method for custom themes differs from theme to theme so there is no way what I tell you will work for anything. I'd suggest looking on Deviantart, since the people there often post installation instructions along with their themes.
I've looked for instructions on several websites, including DA, and have even asked about how to use it on several websites and still nothing. Last time i tried it ended up destroying my laptop and i had to start from scratch, and in the community of patchers there's no help whatsoever, no videos or guides on where to put the files and where not to, nothing on what to put where since they're all labeled as .dll and the only crap i can get is "lolokinstallthisprogram" and that's IT.

And yeah, the video and comments say it runs in the background, but what do you do from there? am i just suppose to repeatedly brick my machine until i get something resembling a UI?
Do you see my frustration? It's like someone saying "I'll teach you how to drive" but all they do is show you how to buy a car and put gas in it then walk away.
@AdventEdge Most of em you un-rar to your resources folder, as long as you have patched your themes, so chill the fuck out and lay off smoking linoleum.
Whenever I install the uxstyle thing, it shows me the install wizard. Then there's a "finish" thing, and it closes out..it doesn't keep running in the background. Am I doing something wrong?
@TechneekTV I can't find it running in Task Manager, no.
Maybe I'm doing it wrong..I download it, it opens in a .zip file, I open and extract to C:, hit the 64 one, and the installer pops up. It finishes and then closes..it doesn't seem to install anything.
No, you do not need to install UX style on Windows 7. If you have Windows 7 Home Premium or above you can just change the taskbar color to whatever you want. And un tick transparency to make the color show more. If you have Windows 7 Starter you can still change the taskbar and desktop color by going to Windows Classic. And also you can use Personalization Panel or Oceanis to set an image as desktop wallpaper on Windows 7 Starter. At least that's what I do. Andrea Borman.
@andrea22borman Andrea, this video is showing how to use third-party Visual Styles, which change the whole entire look and feel of the GUI BEYOND just changing taskbar transparency and color. If you notice my GUI in the video, that can not be achieved without the steps taken in the video.
I still don't understand why you think you need UX style to change your taskbar or wallpaper. And in your video it looks like you made your taskbar the same color as your wallpaper. Which you can do. But are you talking about changing the appearance of control panel or your files? To another shape or color? Those features will not work without third part software. Andrea Borman.
@andrea22borman Andrea, search for "windows 7 visual style" on Google, and click the first link in the search results. That should show you more clearly what I am talking about.
Well the first link I got was a forum. And from what they are saying visual style is just a feature to add more advanced themes. That are not included in Windows 7 and so requires additional software to do it. Which is also not included in Windows 7 or other editions of Windows. I think that's it. Andrea Borman.
@JustD3fy /Troll off, Look at her video bros, she believed the taskbar looked dark settings anyone can set in the personalization settings, shes not fucking retarded, shes just not as technically skilled as you and I are.
I have a Problem with mine... it finished installing and everything but when i run the visual style i have it just makes a sound and nothing happens... it stays with the normal theme... help? i tryd the patching too... wont do anithing..
@seclol When it is done patching and making the noise, you will need to find a theme to install. The patcher itself won't change the theme... it will only allow you to use your own themes ;D
Hey, I'm having a little trouble after I install UxStyle Core... When I look under Services, I don't see a trace of the Unsigned theme service running anywhere. Any idea why it's not working? D: I tried this several times..and restarted several times, but it's as if nothing ever happened.
nice video. even though i'm okay with computers i am always weary about tampering with files that can potentially damage my system so programs like this are always nice.
What theme you used ?

ATTENTION HOW TO FIX THE ERROR -
1.You need to restore your original setting on the first Theme Patcher (I was using Universal Theme Patcher)
2.Click "Restore" on every single section (Theres only 3 on the Universal Theme Patcher.
3. Then go to UxStyle Theme Patcher double click it then open it up than just go the installment no error for me!
Thanks TechneekTV!

@FunkenDK Nope, this won't slow down your PC at all. It uses an EXTREMELY small amount of RAM... so little that you won't notice any impact.
