  • I thought Red XII was a lion not a dog? lol :D

  • Alright! now Sephiroth can't blow up the world with a meteor and--- *sephiroth's theme plays* .....crap.

  • I shoulda let's played this but well i tend to name Cait Sith who he really is so yea

the whole game woulda been a giant spoiler

  • Instead of "Metal Up Your Ass" it's "Meteor Up Your Ass" for Sephiroth lol

  • shut up!!!!

  • GAH! Cliffhangers!

  • what was that meteor cartoon called?

  • why does Cait Sith act like its the end when ITS A REMOTE CONTROL STUFFED ANIMAL!?

the dude controlling him is all the way in Midgard, completely safe.

  • FIND OUT ON THE NEXT EPISODE OF DRAGON BALL Z

  • isnt there a ddr version of the boss music from 7?

  • I always confuse Jenova and the meteor so i guess it would be a vice versa thing

  • ive always loved the bahamut summons the best!

  • i just LOVE how sephiroth takes the time to say "I dinit do dat one, look somewhere else" all vilains need to care more about the hero's opinion of them.

  • When teh boss first apperead through the wall, the first thing that went through my mind was "ALLIEN! IT'S THE ALLIEN!!!! AAAAAAAAAAAAAH" XD

  • Find out next time on Dragon Ball Z

  • yaea.... shove a meteor up his ass... lawl

  • Demon Wall, Hardest boss in Disc one, maybe hardest obligatory boss.

  • I love it how Tifa gets mad at the fortune telling scene if you have her in your party at that time :D

  • i kinda like your cliffhanger endings keeps ya on edge lol

  • Finally, the first classic, HCBailly-style cliffhanger. It's amazing how much they tie an LP together.

  • Dilbert? Really?

  • Gigas armlet? Please don't tell me that's an EB reference.

  • Meteor! Meteor! Meteor! Meteor! xD

  • So you have a bossfight with a wall to prevent you from getting a Supreme MacGuffin? The Temple of the Ancients is basically one big shoutout to FFIV, isn't it?

  • Good freakin' riddance traitor!Of course,he'll come back. He's like a bad cold.He always bounces back.

  • Temple of dooooom from Indiana Jones ! I prefer to play with everyone on fury but against this demon's gate ouch. Huge damage he does

  • @choupetto85 indeed damge you a lot he does master yoda

  • Hm... Now I wish I had Tifa in my party...

I want to she how she'd react, lol.

  • @NostalgicSince2005 She stands aside and acts all huffy. It's quite sweet.

  • master of the art of cliffhanger

  • its like they want us to feel bad over cat shit, i laugh filled with glee during this part of the game.

  • Isn't there another typo at 6:45? Cait Sith says "I'm so exited." when he should say "I'm so excited

  • 7:15 to 7:28 made me teary. ;_;

  • The Demon Wall in the SNES/PSX versions of FFII/IV respectively was a pain in the balls, but apparently he was a little dumbed down in FFIV Advance and FFIV DS.

  • OMG

  • Giygas Armlet? I'm.... so.... happy.

  • meteor, Meteor, METeor, METEOR.

  • Comment removed

  • @twinkies281 its mandatory that aeris is with you at the temple of ancients. you get to choose one partner to go with you.

  • hm that demon's gate is literally a lode-bearing boss

  • Cait Sith got into the Shrine of the Silver Mon.....err...Black Materia! He actually managed to put that stupid monkey...Materia....together!

  • Whoa!

  • @marquise02119 there is....im not sure where to find them(well i'm sure the northern cave has one) but there are other places

  • One of my favorite scenes in the game xD

The wall boss used to own me when I was a kid haha That's because I would always be under leveled (enjoy the game more that way) and I wouldn't have anything near 2,000 hit points :/

  • If this is the Temple of Doom why didn't Sephiroth rip out Tseng's heart going, "Kali-ma! Kali-ma!" (or "Jenova-ma" in his case)? That would've been interesting. I doubt Cloud could wear a fedora though, with his hair...

  • Another ff4 reference??!!

  • 4:00 EWW!

Gigas Armlet? Possible referance to Giygas in Earthbound.

  • i never used summons in this game, the animations take forever and they barely do more damage than my party after level 15. cover counter-attack on cloud, aeris in the back, red wrecking everyone.

  • @do0rkn0b actually i think u cant get a summon before lvl 15

  • Bahamut will always be my favorite summon

  • Comment removed

  • A little tip which can help if you do not have big guard. When the Demons Gate starts waving his arms around, defend, and you will take less damage from the attack.

  • Comment removed

  • Do you get your materia back from Aeris after what happens to her without unequipping it from her after the battle with the demons gate?

  • i dint i dont know soi dont know

  • reminds me of the two wall bosses in Secret of Mana but more Graphic

  • I don't really understand it. Its all robot right?

  • I wonder if Sephiroth likes having meteors dropped on his head as much as Golbez did.

  • I'm surprized the PHS (FFVII version of a cellphone) has good signal inside the temple lol. lol at Cait Sith. Even through he was a spy and somewhat of a bastard for keeping Marlene hostage, he still is somewhat of a good guy lol

  • In Final Fantasy 7 You don't get Black Materia. Black Materia gets you!

  • I wonder what would happen if you got the Black Materia with Yuffie XD "MATERIA!"

  • Wow, this game gives you Bahumut awfully early.

    Ah, the obligatory Wall Boss.

  • It's said at gold saucer, the cat is controlled by him from inside shinra, I have no idea why it's not made clearer that it's a human controlling a cat controlling a big moogle doll, but it is mentioned.

  • HCBailly is using the official pronunciation used for the D&D dragon god. Not the ancient middle eastern fish god.

Also, correcting an LPer's pronunciations when they don't explicitly ask for it is a dick move. Don't do it.

  • where do you get bahamut???

  • Kill Red Dragon.

  • I love using Bahamut in FFX. The fact that you can actually control Summons in that game is something that I really enjoy.

  • "we are gonna to DIE!...no not really" XD

"thats what i do if a wall gets in my way i SHOOT them!" lhc you are awomes all bow and join hc's amry he does not know he has!

  • english, can I have it?

  • im already one of the generals sorry HC you don't know about your army that we use to kill peoplewho dislike you lol

  • its cool how you don't cus hc and your mild obsession with oldschool nickelodeon . well.... there you are. hmph

  • WTF iv been stuck on this boss for FUCKING AGES i cant beat it!!!

    HELP!

  • level grind?

  • you can use the bahamut materia and grind for levels inside the mural room and heal yourself from the man outside the room

  • Check your battle speed. Typically the faster the battle speed, the fewer times you get to strike between the enemy's attacks. Laymen's terms, crank down the speed.

If you're still having trouble, you can grind a bit and make sure all of your character's have a limit break to start the battle.

If you've been keeping up with the E. Skill materia, Big Guard helps A LOT. Something to watch out for is that you DO lose some physical strength for having many materia. Being "lighter" might help.

  • Demon wall or gate is a boss in three Final Fantasy games, and in every single of them he is very hard to defeat.

  • The cat is a remote controlled toy, remember? The doll AND the cat are being controlled by SOMEONE back at Shinra HQ.

  • It's a shinra executive

  • I know that. I even know the guy's name. I was just pointing out that Cait Sith's body is completely expendable.

  • i did meteor rain,1 hit ko ;P

  • me too :)

  • Cait sith might be smart but he's a liar... EVERYONE knows that Aries goes with Zack and Tifa with Cloud.

  • I hated this boss as a kid. Kept dying to him.

  • HCballiy in the computer version if you use cids limit break the one where he picks u the enemy with his lance and you use it on the monster wall the computer crashes!!!! did you know that??!

  • This is not the PC version of the game. It is on a downloaded emulator. :)

  • if you are not a dog purson...

then you clearly have to seen a dog like moca

    my nabhores cute little puppy...

i beleve his world plot is to lick all the people in the world faces off

  • shoot the wall ftw

  • I wonder what would happen if Tifa is in your party with the fortune telling scene.

  • I remember the third time through the game, I grinded my ass off and whipped Demon Gate's ass in a few rounds :) grinding in a few areas makes the game A LOT easier; no need to reset up materias etc etc

  • Cant send red in because he doesnt have opposable digits just paws lol

  • Dilbert can cast Meteor!?

  • Demon Gate. . . it reminds me of Demon WALL from FFIV.

  • I see a typo! At 6:45 :O

  • Great Gospel made the Demon Gate fight a cake walk. xD

  • I would shoot it too... if the wall was alive and trying to kill me!

  • Wait... Since when did Sephiroth have flunkies?

  • haha! when cait sith fell over there was a huge crash heard from out side my window XD

  • lol, Dilbert

That was the perfect clip XD!

  • I'm stuck on the wall monster

  • "You know that giving the Dragon Armlet to Aeris is a really bad idea don't you?"

Not really, the Adamant bangles are all better.

  • I'm pretty sure that Cait Sith is a robot who controlls the stuffed doll, and is controlled by someone else, but I forgot who.

  • The funny thing is that I watched that Dilbert clip on the dilbert Youtube Channel less than an hour before I watched this episode.

  • You know that giving the Dragon Armlet to Aeris is a really bad idea don't you?

  • That wall monster looks like an alien.

My first thought when I faced it was: ''Hey! They even got aliens in this game!''

It wasn't hard. Bahamut really helped out.

  • Now THIS guy is a cool Final Fantasy IV homage! And woah, he might not be as hard as back in his IV days, but he's still pure murder for the underleveled!´

And for some reason, that moment where Cait Sith trips is a real jerker for me. Don't listen to the internet, Cait! I still love you!

  • And of course, in true Final Fantasy tradition, Bahamut is one of the most powerful summons in the game.

  • just like in secret of mana

  • Aww I love Cait Sith XD

  • Why lots of videos end before they are finish.

  • That wall boss is one of the nastiest in the game. I was under-leveled when I faced him and it took forever to beat him. He kept nailing me with that ice attack.

Hey, a cliffhanger with an actual cliff. How 'bout that? :D

  • You're already around lvl40? O_O As i first managed to kill the boss i've forgot to level, i was around level.. 20? He was quite hard back then oo

God, i hate cait sith. What a stupid character, really.

  • What? You're kidding? 20? Is that possible?

I was around 40-45 when I kicked that guys ass.

I need to stop grinding or this game will become way too easy.

  • i always end up grinding because i want a couple of master all materias in stock... but then after that, the game becomes way too easy... i've pretty much stopped grinding as well... but i may be too late... ^^;;;

  • itS THE DEMON WALL FROM FF4 theyre reusing bosses how uncreative

  • I think it's fun that games contain some bosses from older ones: Like demon wall.

    Same thing with summons.

  • I like that you touch it, and the temple shakes. Then you talk a bit, and Cloud decides to turn around and shake it again, for no apparent reason. "Guys! Check this out!" *Shakes temple in time with him stamping his feet*

  • i'll never get tired of your cliffhangers, it's good stuff. keep the awesome videos coming.

  • Wow, you got quite lucky during that fight with the Demon's Gate. He will usually try to slam you all with Ice Attacks that hurt quite a bit. They aren't too bad, but they are more effective than the attack seen here. Although, I guess equipment that Ice immunity stuff the AI saw it and decided not to use the turns.

Always liked this scene with Cait Sith. A lot of people might not like him, but he's quite the enjoyable guy sometimes.

  • Did you miss the part where he cut out the entire middle of the fight? The wall probably did use that ice attack but it was cut out with the rest.

  • I actually only cut out 5 seconds, just to get the video under 11 minutes. It was the ice protection that really helped me out.

  • If Seph is strong enough to one hit kill them don't they think it's a bad idea to keep it with them? They should of just broke it lol. But them the game would end too soon XP

  • Too bad you don't have Quickening's like in FFXII. I killed the Demon Wall's in one hit with those. 60k damage all the way.

  • That is exactly why I absolutely HATE the quickenings in FFXII. They are so ridiculously overpowered. I don't use them, I just learn them for the MP.

  • same here xD but i do use quikenings in start of the game because it pwns aloot

  • Oh man. I forgot how creepy Sephiroth's theme is.

Still a Kefka fan but damn, when you first play FF&, that theme will send shivers down your spine.

  • Just replayed it. YES, you can get into random battles before fighting the Demon Wall, in the hallway where the murals are. YES, if Cait Sith is in your party, he goes with you to fight the Demon Wall, then does his thing. Haven't checked on how Tifa reacts if you take her there.

  • hahaha i shot the wall to death XD

  • If whoever solves the puzzle to get the black materia gets crushed by the temple why not let Sephiroth try to get it? He tries to get it and boom no more Sephiroth

  • he would just have one of his minions grab it

  • oh yea. true

  • Have we actually ever seen him have minions before in the game so far? I mean, those black-cloaked guys appear to have some association with Sephiroth, but we don't know for sure if they're outright minions. It still strikes me as odd that the party thinks that if they possess the Black Materia Sephiroth is less likely to get it than if it was left in the temple. Sephiroth is apparently really really strong, right? Couldn't he take it from them by force, and kill them all at the same time?

  • I mean, it just seems like such a cliché where the heroes unwittingly help the villain.

  • But was it such a cliché over 10 years ago?

  • Yes.

  • Yet no one cared....

  • You may call it a cliche, I consider it an effective motif. Don't you agree?

    {}Yes.

    {}Off Course!

  • I like thinking positive :D

  • {}Yes.

    {X}Off Course!

  • You made my day.

  • If Cait Sith is dead, then how will we able to locate its operator, who has Marlene captive?

*Note: I have played this game before, and so I know the answer.*

  • I hate it when enemies have delays like that. The worst one I've seen is the Ying/Yang in Nibelheim. That bastard rocks back and forth for like 30 seconds after I hit him with Beta, for no apparent reason. What's worse is I keep running into him at the Battle Square, and he does the same thing there, too!

  • how will we get out of this hole!

    nice pun

  • I hated the wall when I first played. I got killed on the first try.. 2nd time I killed it though.

  • "Hey... where's the puzzles? C'mon!"

Yeah, we (me and a friend of mine) had a similar case of the disappointments.

  • I rarely use Cait Sith, but I once named him "Crack head" for the sake of this part of the game. "Don't forget me even if another Crack Head comes along" I laughed so hard. Great videos, HC!

  • that wall monster is kinda remindin me bout the 1 in ff12...

  • I must comment that the music perfectly worked with your conclusion in this video, HCBailly

  • damn cliffhanger

  • lol, if pacman used ur theory in 6:05, it would be easy to beat

  • "How will we get out of this hole!?" icwutudidthar~

    Epic as always :D

    <3 your LPs

  • That would be a neat collectible toy. A model of the Temple of the Ancients that's hinged like a rubik's cube and becomes a sphere if solve it.

  • cats are better anyway...

    (i love you kathy!)

  • At least this one, it don't crush you. Not like the one in FF4

  • delays like that zombie in the basement of the nibleheim mansion?

  • Was that an Aliens reference when you were fighting the wall boss?

Also I loved the Dilbert clip.

  • Which line?

  • "We are going to die". But now that I think of it "I got a bad feeling about this" was also in Aliens (alought I think of it from Star Wars).

  • See the title of the episode... ;-)

  • Now that I think of it, it makes sense. Sometimes the most obvious things are the most hard to see. ^_^

(the wall boss kinda looks like an alien)

  • Indiana Jones!

  • I just fought something like that Demon Gate in Final Fantasy IV DS, earlier today!

  • Only Aang can use the Black Materia!

  • demon wall *flash back to final fantasy 4 ds* WHAT THE FUCK THIS WALL WON'T DIE ITS GOT...HOLY SHIT 99999 HP* end flashback* bad memories you should have said something about hcbaily*

  • Cait Sith, we hardly knew ya. All I can say is goodbye and good riddance. It does make you feel for him a little bit there (and I do mean a little bit) because it seems as if he's realized that he can be a hero if he wants. Still, I'm not shedding any tears for him. Oh, and your cliffhangers are what keeps us coming back for more!

  • If Nanaki howls then he is a dog with a flaming tail.

  • So does this mean that the cat on top of Cait Sith is also stuffed? I hope so...

HCBailly, please tell me that no kitty cats were harmed in the making of this episode!

  • I loved that cliffhanger even before you made that comment at the end. This one was extra-epic because what comes next is so important. Don't miss out on the next episode of Let's Play FF7!

  • If as the model of the temple gets smaller you get smaller, than it wouldn't fit in your hand because you hand would also be smaller! Can someone translate Aeris's line at 1:08 into simpler English?

  • @ComradeSephiroth She's just using two different "you"s depending one which person you are in her example (the one in the temple, and the one outside the temple).

  • Bahamut always pierces defense? Geez, I didn't know that.

I wonder what happens if Cait Sith or Tifa is in your party for that fortune telling scene after the boss. I mean, you wouldn't exactly have to go to the exit to GET Cait Sith in your party. And the scene would be quite awkward if Tifa was there. I only remember having Red XIII in my party, so I don't really know how it would go.

  • @drunyon214 Having Tifa makes no difference, and having Cait Sith means he's already there during the scene (and there's no phonecall either).

  • i liked how u did the anime cartoon thing "metor, metor, metor!" it was great, lol makes your lp's alot more fun to watch, i mean don't get me wrong, even the boring parts are funny.

  • Ugh, Demon Gate..I had lots of trouble as well, once I got over the "OMG FFIV reference!!" glee..probably because I tried to use lots of magic instead of physical attacks.

  • This Demon Wall/Gate was so much tougher than the one's in FFXII

  • At least there's an actual cliff this time.

  • I am almost certain Nanaki is a feline, it seems obvious to me.

And yes I have a tendancy to name characters by their real or revealed names as soon as they enter my party like Glenn for Frog, Janus for Magus in CT. So I name him Nanaki right from the start.

  • He barks at you when you hit him with the ball in that resort town though. As far as I can tell that's a canine thing.

  • Red XIII, a dog? I always thought of him as feline/leonine...

  • I was just waiting for the daily "HC Cliffhanger" just before you menitoned your last comment. Fantastic as always!
