  • TODAY in the LA Times "Prop. 8 ruling: State officials can't veto voter-approved measures"

"When the public officials who ordinarily defend a challenged state law or appeal a judgment invalidating the law decline to do so...the official proponents of a voter-approved initiative measure are authorized to assert the state's interest in the initiative's validity, enabling the proponents to defend the constitutionality of the initiative and to appeal a judgment invalidating the initiative."

  • They're worried about the sanctity of marriage. Kim Kardashian, a straight female, made 17 million dollars on her wedding. Yet her marriage lasted 72 days. Britney Spears's marriage lasted 55 hours. Some same sex relationships/marriages last for years and years. And they're worried about protecting marriage?

    Don't make me laugh, America.

  • @Sweetumsh The whole point of protecting marriage is keeping the definition intact which is between a man and women how long it lasts is irrelevant.

  • @dannyboyinspace Um no. The definition of marriage isn't that it should always occur between only a male and a female. That's the definition of heteronormative.

Marriage defines the strength of a relationship between ANY two people of ANY gender. Length isn't irrelevant at all, because that's what shows how strong of a relationship between these two people is. What's irrelevant, in terms of marriages/relationships/love, is gender.

  • @Sweetumsh Instead of giving your opinion look up the term marriage or better yet I'll do it for you "The formal union of a MAN AND WOMAN, typically recognised by law, by which they become husband and wife". There is nothing which goes into depth or describes the relationship thats purely your opinion. Like I said before its for keeping the defintion of marriage intact "between a man and a woman" the length it lasts is irrelevant.

  • @dannyboyinspace My opinion, and the opinion of millions of others, is that marriage is a right, and to have that right taken away just because of one's sexuality is just medieval. Yes the *dictionary* definition of marriage is the union of a man and a woman, because we live in a heteronormative society. But times have changed and people need to learn to adapt to those changes. It's not yours or anyone's business who someone else wants to marry. There is no reason to take away that right.

  • @Sweetumsh The Supreme Court declared marriage a fundamental right to marry the person of one's choice.

  • @Sweetumsh It was never a right of homosexuals in the first place only society's changing perceptions made it so. If your opinion truly mattered gay marriage would be accepted everywhere but its not there is only 6 or 7 countries in the world that allow "gay marriage" everywhere else its not considered marriage but a union or not considered anything. If its not else's business who someone wants to marry why is polygamy, incest and underage marriage illegal?

  • @dannyboyinspace Netherlands, Belgium, Spain, Canada, South Africa, Norway, Sweden, Portugal, Iceland, Argentina, Nepal pending.

That would be 11 plus one pending.

Because polygamy, incest and underage marriage is condidered harmful to families in the united states by the SCOTUS.

Everything doesn't become legal in all countries at the same time.

  • @dannyboyinspace There is no definition of marriage. Marriage has changed over time.

  • @jfsfrnd Actually there is please look it up because I don't want to keep repeating myself.

  • @dannyboyinspace Look it up? Where? If there is a definition of marriage then you need to bring the evidence here.

  • @jfsfrnd Type in "define marriage" into google you fucking retard. How stupid are people these days. You're a douche.

  • @dannyboyinspace Marriage rights aren't defined by a dictionary definition you fucking retard they are defined BY LAW. You're a douche.

  • @Sweetumsh - Just because heterosexuals and spolied celebrities have made a mockery of marriage is no reason to change it all just to accommodate the demands of a self-obsessed vocal minority.

  • @90thefallen no prop h8, equal rights for all

  • America is so fucked up we can accept same sex marriage in england where the tolerance towards homosexuality is a lot lower so why cant America. It has not affected they way our country runs nor has it compromised our schools I dont get why all people cant just accept this, no where in the bible does is say that you should not be gay or marry someone of the same sex, it does however say that people who commit adultry should be stoned does that mean we should start stoning people?

  • @janeway4eva because a large part of our nation is blinded by religion. It's absolutely idiotic.

  • @janeway4eva sorry dude, but same sex marrige is still illegal in england, we can have civil partnerships but not marrige, the torries are right now discussing changes in the law though.

  • @janeway4eva You're a dumbfuck same sex marriage ISNT accepted in England only civil unions I'm not from England and I know that you don't know your own country you stupid bitch.

  • America is so fucked up we can accept same sex marriage in england where the tolerance towards homosexuality is a lot lower so why cant America. It has not affected they way our country runs nor has it compromised our schools I dont get why all people cant just accept this, no where in the bible does is say that you should not be gay or marry someone of the same sex, it does however say that people who commit adultry should be stoned

  • I like Ellen but this passed because people are still in the "olden 'days" mentality and believe marriage is between a man and a woman. Not a woman and woman, man and man, man and man and woman. 2 people of the opposite sex that can produce a child. Christianity also plays a big role because the same sex are not supposed to lay w eachother or it's a sin. Most gays are not religious understandably because it is against them, but, 90% of all Americans believe in Jesus Christ and go to church.

  • I have always believed that people should be allowed to live HOW they want as long as they do not HARM anyone. This shouldn't have been voted on. that right should already be given. Yes their are some bad abusive homosexuals the same can be said for straightees. there is good and bad in everything and its not right to judge based on a few bad eggs. They are not harming anyone if they want to get married or adopt. Gays are human too. Tired of everyone seperating everyone into groups.

  • who the hell do people think they are voting on this

i decided if i get married

    its MY choice

    MINE!!!!

    no on else

i can not believe people voted on wheter i am allowed to get married or not

  • Whatever the vote was in California, they have to honor that.

  • @vjohn16 no offense but ur straight so u wod not understand

this is our rights being taken away

  • @IrishfanofDH Be careful about falling into the same trap of sterotyping as your opponents. I'm straight and I do understand. I speak up for gay marriage because, even though I am straight, I didn't spend 4 years in the Army defending American's rights just to see people at home strip away the freedoms I was willing to risk my life to protect by denying rights to my fellow citizens.

  • Prop 8 didn't ban same-sex marriage. It overturned a judges rulling and reinstated prop 22 that was passed back in 2000. Jeeze.

  • god is not against black and white people marring, thats not a sin. god is against same sex marrage, and god never changes, a man putting his penis in another mans butt is lust and perversion, not love

1 cor 6:9-10, Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders will inherit the kingdom of God.

  • @mrcooldude964 Genesis 28:1: "And Isaac called Jacob, and blessed him, and charged him, and said unto him, Thou shalt not take a wife of the daughters of Canaan." Leviticus 19:19: "Ye shall keep my statutes. Thou shalt not let thy cattle gender with a diverse kind ..." Deuteronomy 22:9: "Thou shalt not sow thy vineyard with divers seeds: lest the fruit of thy seed which thou hast sown, and the fruit of thy vineyard, be defiled." yeah hes against mixed marriages.

  • @mrcooldude964 that is not the actual wording of the scripture

And homosexuality is love not lust

  • @mrcooldude964 i am god, i have never destroyed anything so you lie

  • @mrcooldude964 Homosexuality is love, not lust. And who said that all straight couples have love? A lot of the straight couples I know are just lustful and I know a lot of homosexual couples who actually love each other. Believe in whatever you want but people should be able to be happy and equal. No one votes on if you can get married because some religion says it's wrong. I think it's wrong that people even think that two people who LOVE each other can't get married. It's bullshit.

  • @SatanicAtheist666 whats next, people marrying there animals? if the animlas loves them and they love the animal is that not love , and should they not be married? if you disagree they will tell you that your close minded

lev 18:21, Lev 18:21, 'Do not lie with a man as one lies with a woman; that is detestable. 23 " 'Do not have sexual relations with an animal and defile yourself with it. A woman must not present herself to an animal to have sexual relations with it; that is a perversion.

  • @mrcooldude964 It's completely different. It's different species. Two humans of the same gender should have every right to get married. If our country wasn't filled with such dogma from religious people then I believe a lot of things in this country would be different. I mean damn, a lot of things in the entire world would probably be different.

  • @SatanicAtheist666 Not being a social conservative, gay marriage is something I would typically support. But, I don't want liberals to win. Gay couples have it good enough in the US and who wants to marry anyway? Gay marriage seems to me less important than stopping Obama from spending the country away. I'd rather have the current version of society with no gay marriage (but tolerating gay people in almost every sense) than a Muslim invasion and massacre of America.

  • @SatanicAtheist666 if the gay community had it there way the world would be sodom and gomorrah, kids in school would be tought that there is no difference between men and women

if the world was controled by gay people what moral laws would there be? in a gay world the main thing kids would be tought are, church. god, jesus, are wrong and they hate you because they dont let 2 men put there penises in each other butts and mouths, in a gay world what would seperate people from animals?

  • @mrcooldude964 The only thing that would be different is equality. And for your information, asshole, there is no difference between a man and a woman besides their body parts and what they can do with those body parts. There would be the same damn moral laws. Just more equality and acceptance. It's pricks like you that form the reason that me and the rest of the gay community can't have the same rights as the straight community.

  • @SatanicAtheist666 now i see why god had to destroy sodom and gomorrah. if he didnt the world would be a big orgy now and what is good would be considered bad and what was bad would be considered good, many times in the bible god had to destroy cities and every living thing in them in order to protect those who didnt chose lust and perversion over love,

  • @mrcooldude964 Wow... The world would be a big orgy because gay marriage would be legal? What is considered good would be considered bad and vise verse because gay marriage would be legal? That's a bit ignorant, don't you think?

  • @mrcooldude964 Coming from someone named SatanicAthiest666......Yea I'm really gonna listen to you quote Biblical verses.... :P

  • @disposablefreedom no matter what your name is. you will be in heaven or hell for eternity. god left it up to you where you will be. jesus is the way to heaven. (make your choice well)

  • @mrcooldude964 I've made my choice and noone knows where that choice is going to take me, but me and God...

  • @mrcooldude964 dude if youre going to quote the bible, quote it correctly

proving once again why religion is wrong

  • The choice to be a bigot and oppress God's gay children will indeed sentence many ignorant people to hell.

  • @GodCreatesGays2 your only decieving yourself to think you can live in sin and go to heaven, what does god think about living in gay sin?

Rom 1:26-27, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural relations for unnatural ones. 27In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed indecent acts with other men, and will receive in themselves the due penalty for their perversion.

  • Of course, those who accept God's will & truth over man's ignorance & bigotry know that there's nothing sinful about being gay. The devil corrupts people with weak minds & manipulates them into believing that God's creations (be they gay, black, Jewish, left-handed, whatever) are "bad" or "sinful". But the Lord knows better. He is the one who creates diversity in the first place, and keeps his gay, black, Jewish, and left-handed children right here on His planet. His will is good enough for me.

  • @GodCreatesGays2 gods word has nothing against being left handed, jewish,or black, but for those who chose to live in homosexual sin. god has a lot to say about that, but you dont want the truth, you would rather go to hell living in sin, for those who chose to not live in sin and truly recieve jesus. ill see you in heaven (hopefully youll chose to not live in sin and truly recieve jesus before its to late, but thats up to you (freewill),

  • @mrcooldude964, of course God's word would have nothing bad to say about being left-handed, Jewish, black, or gay, but the Bible, which was written & interpreted by ignorant, fallible men (not God), has indeed been used as a weapon against the Lord's children, by those with weak minds which the devil manipulates. Righteous though they fancy themselves to be, haters and oppressors of the back, left-handed, Jewish, and gay communities will reap naught but an eternity of damnation for themselves.

  • @GodCreatesGays2 2 pet 1:20-21 Above all, you must understand that no prophecy of Scripture came about by the prophet's own interpretation. 21For prophecy never had its origin in the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.

dont decieve yourself. the bible has not changed and heaven is real. so is hell,

  • @mrcooldude964, of course the agenda-driven men who wrote and edited the Bible need to say that they were "inspired by God". How else are they going to manipulate their sheeple in line? For those of us who think clearly and rationally, however, when the Bible writers' myths clearly contradict the Lord's true will, then it's the Bible, and those of you who passively swallow and regurgitate it, who are in the wrong. God knows best, why keep arguing with Him?

  • @GodCreatesGays2 you stand up for everything god is against, and your telling everyone what the bible truly means and what mistakes those (inspired by the holy spirit) write in the bible? ummmmmmmmmm i see

bottom line is you WILL, like we all will stand before jesus, those who recieved jesus will be jumping for joy on that day, those that chose to deny and mock jesus will be knashing there teeth, im glad ill be jumping for joy.

  • @mrcooldude964, so you are delusional enough to believe you are God? My acknowledging the erroneous crux of YOUR anti-minority stance is not comparable to my standing up against God. See, those of us who know, trust, and understand Him can tell you that His love for all His children, including the ones He creates as gay, is infinite. All I can do is warn you of your dire fate come Judgment day, when His wrath for your prejudice will be visited upon your rattling head.

  • Rom 1:26-27, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural relations for unnatural ones. 27In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed indecent acts with other men, and will receive in themselves the due penalty for their perversion.

passing another sodom and gomorrah gay law in new york is another slap in gods face, soon gods judgement will come on america.

  • People today are truly insane.

  • Do u want a tissue????? LoL

  • No gay in USA... Yep I just said it =D

  • prop 8 basically states that the state does not care a fuck about what you faggots do with your partners, we don't care about it as we don't approve of it. And as we don't approve about it we wont support or promote it. end of the story, so what equality are these homos speaking about when the state does not approve homo behavior.

  • @G41MCombo You don't know what equality they're talking about is? That's the problem, people like you are too numerous in this country, and there is a LOT you don't know. You actually seem to be proud of not knowing a lot of things. This is why school is so important. School is the key to the extinction of people like you.

  • @ninjajesus81Read this scribd.com/doc/54881192/Is-Cuomo-Ignoring-the-Evidence-Against-Gay-Marriage-Updated

  • @G41MCombo Well, I'm not reading all of that, but I saw a few things on that website that were terrible reasons not to allow gay marriage. AIDS? Even if that was a good argument, which it isn't, that would only exclude gay men from getting married, not women.

  • @G41MCombo Then why does it matter so much to you?

  • im glad it passed

  • Hi Ellen! My name is Jessica Dotson. I am 17, and bisexual. I You are my idol, and without you and your shows I would have never had the courage to come out, and be myself. My dream is to meet you, and I hope that I can some day.

  • @GetONellen1 greedy fucker

  • Comment removed

  • @dirtdemon6 Why do you say that?

  • HA HA!!

  • Fuck your "Jizzuz" and fuck your marriage. I am gonna fuck who and what I wan't. Do I need marriage to be gay? Hell no! I can't imagine being with one man for more than a year. Why take 1 when you can have all? To all "real" believers of god: KEEP WAITIN' FOR YA JIZZUZ TO CUM! I Already got mine twice today.

  • Wow... makes you wonder if she even read Prop 8. But then again she is just a propaganda machine for her agenda!!

  • Fucking christian nutcases. They always insist on voting in huge numbers.

  • @CrazyMunky84 what makes us crazy? huh?

  • @dnelson901 Uhmmm I don't know. Maybe the fact that you believe in a talking dead guy who was his own father who can forgive your sins if you telepathically say you believe and accept him as your saviour. You know just that. But how's that crazy right!?!

  • @CrazyMunky84 well, using that method, you could make any religion sound crazy. what is your religion?

  • @dnelson901 I wouldn't quite say I'm an atheist. More of an agnostic. Is there a higher power. I don't know but there hasn't been one ounce of evidence for it yet. Until there is I don't buy it. One thing is certain however. The major religions of the world are all ridiculous. And yes believing in them makes you crazy.

  • @mindsaglowin wow next time you should come up with an original response

  • Hahahahahahahaha. I'm laughing all the way to the bank on this one. By that I mean I feel like I won the lottery when prop. 8 passed and I don't even live in Cal. or the US. Ha!

  • I just think its funny that people can scoff at how people used to think marrige between blacks and whites was against nature or how a prince falling for a bakers daughter was betraying your country (Hello plot like to EVERY ROMANCE?) And now people are being gay something that had been going since romans wrote plays and flip out enough to denie people happiness like the know anything

    )

  • @NecoMimi43 actually there are hieroglyphics from Ancient Egipt that show scenes of affection between same sex people

  • @saramartins95 Very true, in fact more then that there are accounts of chinease kings with male wives, Greek gods with same sex lovers and quite a few more, its something that has spanned the world for far longer then the american government has been established. And all this without contact between the cultures- showing that regardless of peoples opionions it is a very real and accseptable human condition. I grow infuriated everytime some clueless shrew states their scorn. :D

  • @NecoMimi43 I also get very infuriated with those idiot people...

this has nothing to do with this but I just noticed that this was on my birthday (13 years) :) yeay lol

  • @NecoMimi43 god is not against black and whites marrying or a prince marrying a bakers daughter, but same sex is lust and perversion. its not by accident mens butts dont have overies and women dont have sperm, it is not love for a man to put his penis in another mans butt and mouth, its lust and perversion. god had to destroy sodom and gomorrah for it and the god (we all) will stand before on judgment day has not changed his mind about same sex perversion (eternity is a long time)

  • @mrcooldude964 "Daniel 2:43 As you saw the iron mixed with soft clay, so they will mix with one another in marriage, but they will not hold together, just as iron does not mix with clay.

Deuteronomy 7:3 You shall not intermarry with them, giving your daughters to their sons or taking their daughters for your sons". yes, your god isagainstt mixed marriages.

  • @mrcooldude964 who are you to say its lust and not love, and the definition of perversion makes it not a perversion

  • @mermaidsareppl222 the god we all will stand before on judgment day calls living in sin lust and perversion, not love,

  • @mrcooldude964 the buybull says that not God

  • @mermaidsareppl222 the bible is gods words. those how followed jesus believed the say way jesus did. you can decieve yourself into thinking living in sin is acceptable by god, but what good will that do you when your standing face to face with jesus in judgment day?

turn from living in sin now and recieve jesus now while you still can.

jesus hopes you do. (jesus can only save those who come to him)

  • @mrcooldude964 So when did God himself write it?

    Oh wait.he didn't

The only thing I'd be turning from is.free.thinking if I turned to religion/jesus

  • @mrcooldude964 ''god is not against black and whites marrying ''

Then why did the trial judge say this to the Lovings when he told them to leave the state of Virginia for 25 years:

''"Almighty God created the races white, black, yellow, malay and red, and he placed them on separate continents. And but for the interference with his arrangement there would be no cause for such marriages. The fact that he separated the races shows that he did not intend for the races to mix."

  • @jfsfrnd moses married an ethopian women. god is not against races marrying. what god is against is same sex marrying.

god compairs same sex relation to people and animals having sexual relations.

there is a reason man dont have overies in there butt and women dont have penises,

god created people for a man and women to have sex (after marriage)

  • @mrcooldude964 That's nice. So go follow your Bible and leave other people alone. Your Bible has nothing to do with our laws.

  • @jfsfrnd 2 tim 4:3-5, For the time will come when men will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. 4They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths.

  • @mrcooldude964 Ya know, if you have a religious belief go follow it and leave other people alone. Okay?

  • @jfsfrnd its not about any church or religion. its about receiving jesus while you still can and being forgiven and turing from living in sin

lot of people think its a joke that jesus is coming back very soon. when they are left behind they will not be laughing.

  • @mrcooldude964 That's nice. I'm happy you believe in a religion.

  • @jfsfrnd i dont believe in any religion. i believe in jesus who is very soon coming back

  • @mrcooldude964 like you have

you have turned away from the truth, and gone to the myths of religion

  • @jfsfrnd your laws are man made and they are not gods laws. you have the same laws they had in sodom and gomorrah and god had to destroy that city.

turn from living in lust and perversion now and jesus will forgive you and you can be in heaven for eternity

  • @mrcooldude964 watch?v=Dgm4SXaEszU

  • I voted NO on Prop 8, and I was too young to vote against Prop 22. But I do recall that only 14% of California voted in support of Gay Rights against Prop 22 and now 48% voted in support of Gay Rights against Prop 8. This is progress. Prop 8 is a dissaster, but it is an eye opener that people are getting better. Bigots are fading away, foolishness is dissolving as Nazi-Jim Crow-Facist-Haters are dying off. I am optimistic that the Supreme Court will do whats right, & place equality above the H8.

  • Ellen mixes some truth with some lies in this clip. Prop 8 does not and would not take away rights from anyone. prop 8 keeps things exactly how they are and prevents the changing of the constitution. Those who vote no on prop 8 are actually voting to change the constitution. I am tolerant f those who vote no and respect their opinion and wish that instead of calling those who disagree with them hateful they would be tolerant as well. Tolerance is a two way thing. ;)

  • @bobybob10000 Sorry but you need to understand Prop 8 before you mix lies in with your truth.. Prop 8 is a constitutional amendment. (Constitutional amendment, a change made to a written constitution)

The measure added a new provision, Section 7.5 of the Declaration of Rights, to the California Constitution, which provides that "only marriage between a man and a woman is valid or recognized in California."

The people who voted no were voting against the CHANGE to the law....

  • @bobybob10000 Just to make sure it is clear, this is how it read in the constitution after the change:

    Section I. Title

This measure shall be known and may be cited as the "California Marriage Protection Act."

Section 2. Article I. Section 7.5 is added to the California Constitution. to read:

Sec. 7.5. Only marriage between a man and a woman is valid or recognized in California.

  • @bobybob10000 gays had rights

then they were taken away because of prop h8

so in fact that is true

  • @bobybob10000 actually prop 8 did take rights away, you should look into it more.

  • Don't listen to the comments that @TheDevile2010 is making on close to every ellen video. Ellen and Portia ARE NOT getting divorced.

  • @Greywolf717wp yeah, ive googled a lot about it, and nothing has come up outside of his comments

  • Portia getting Divorce form Ellen. It made me cry. It Breack My Heart :(

  • 105 fuck heads doesnt knw to act human

  • @TJDanii

I don't believe sexuality is moral or immoral. Unless the person is acting on sexual urges that hurt others, like having sex with minors that can't give their consent and can't legally consent anyway.

  • @TJDanii

I don't believe it is right or wrong. I believe it just an attraction, that's it.

  • @iamasuicidalchick

I think I understand part of the reason why "you don't gay children". You are under the misconception that a Homosexual man is "less of a man" because he finds guys attractive. Not all gay men are feminine. While a Homosexual woman is "less of a woman" because they find women attractive. Not all Lesbian women are masculine. You seem to be confusing sexual orientation with gender and gender roles or at least "traditional" gender roles.

  • @DiverseEquality19 A gay man is less of a man. Duh

  • @iamasuicidalchick

Why would you say something as stupid as that? A gay man is still male, therefore, he is a man. You are now judging off stereotypes. And I just previously explained why that is wrong. Plus, a man is defined as such by physical anatomy, not sexual orientation. I have a friend, he's a military veteran with multiple decorations, cars are his favorite hobby, he loves country music and sports in general. These are all "manly" traits, judging off stereotypes. He's also gay.

  • @DiverseEquality19 What i said is not stupid. Its my opinion. A gay man is less of a man. Cause he with other men not woman.

  • @iamasuicidalchick

As I've said before, I feel sorry for any children you may have. Your opinion isn't "stupid" to you because it is yours. But, when compared to how most parents feel about their children, it is very wrong. Because they have unconditional love. Yours is conditional. Like I've said before, you are judging on stereotypes. Not all gay men are feminine. People are defined as a gender by their physical anatomy. If a man has a prostate, penis and testicials he is a man.

  • @DiverseEquality19 All gay men are feminine

  • @iamasuicidalchick

I guess that ridiculous statement could be true depending on how you define the word "feminine". But I have a feeling your definition is incorrect, as is most of your statements you've said thus far.

My friend I told you about earlier is not the least bit "feminine" besides the fact that he is Homosexual and sleeps with another man. If that is your definition you are still wrong because some feminine women are Lesbians, sleeping with a woman.

  • @DiverseEquality19 Oh so If you have a penis ur a man? How can u be so Hypocritical with ur user name then? what about trasngender people? i was born with a penis so that makes me a man even though my whole life i knew who and what i was which is the opposite of my male parts?, i think you should re think your user name or include all people in ur thoughts of what "Equality" is. You're the one using Sterotypes.

  • @QueenVenus1990

Yes, because that is how we determine one's gender, by differences in physical anatomy. I never said anything about sexual identity, just gender. I am not using stereotypes. I just explained, there is a difference between gender and sexual identity. I most certainly believe that one can identity more with the opposite gender then what their physical anatomy is. Someone said, "being gay makes you less of a man." I explained that gender is not determined by sexual orientation...

  • @QueenVenus1990

...but by physical anatomy. Just because someone may act feminine doesn't mean they aren't a man. Just as if someone acts masculine doesn't mean they aren't a woman. My whole point was whether or not a man acts feminine or not doesn't determine his gender. He would still be anatomically identified as a male.

Someone may have the physical anatomy of a male or female doesn't mean that's how they choose to identify. I have absolutely no problem with this. :) You can certainly be trans-gendered. But if you have the physical anatomy of a man you would still be classified as male, regardless of how you identify or act. Whether or not I think this is "right" is a whole other matter. I think people should be able to identify with whatever gender they choose, not just how they were born.

  • @QueenVenus1990

Didn't mean to offend you. :)

I hope I did a good enough job explaining why I said what I did. And, that gender and sexual identity are completely different and I was only referencing gender.

I'm not quite sure what it is you are asking.

Is, religion right or wrong in my eyes?

Or is Homosexuality right or wrong in my eyes?

  • @TJDanii

Well most religions do say somewhere within the writing they follow (Bible for example) that the followers are not to judge anyone. On the Bible it does not directly reference Homosexuality but the act of anal sex between two men (Leviticus). From what I've gathered from research that verse is condemning Hebrew Priests, telling them what they should and should not do so they won't be acting like "Pagans".

  • @TJDanii Thank You

  • @TJDanii I'm not religious

  • @iamasuicidalchick

Once again, all of your points have been refuted.

  • @iamasuicidalchick

to the case in New Jersey? The church was granted a tax-exempt status because it was renting out its pavilion as a service to anyone. Then when a lesbian couple asked to rent the space they were denied. If the church wants to hold on to its right to discriminate in public commerce then it should not be granted tax-exempt status. Why should tax-paying Homosexual people in effect contribute to the support of an institution that discriminates against them? They shouldn't.

  • @iamasuicidalchick

...If it is legal, federally recognized, in that state for same-sex couples to marry then the churches should perform the ceremony. And if they don't, then yes the same-sex couple has the right to sue them because their rights have been violated. So because five cases of the thousands of same-sex couples wanting to marry ended in a law suit, same-sex marriage shouldn't be allowed? The same thing can be said for Heterosexual marriages.

Oh I did look it up. Are you referring...

  • @iamasuicidalchick

You are assuming I'm the type of person that thinks that's okay because I support Homosexual people in general. According to my own personal morals murder is never okay, no matter the circumstances. When have I ever said it was okay to threaten another person's life? I haven't.

Your main point is generalizing all Homosexual people to be the same way. And that way of thinking is regressive. You are going to hate a group of people just because some of them hate you? How mature.

  • @DiverseEquality19 I don't hate anyone. I have gay friends. I am just against gay marriage and i gave you my reasons. I dont care if you accept them of not. Those are my reason of why I am against gay marriage.

  • @iamasuicidalchick

The point I was trying to make when I said that was you are doing the exact same thing some of them are doing, just because they did it. I don't believe that is justification. I never said I do not "accept" them. I just pointed out why I find your way of thinking to be rather warped and regressive.

  • @DiverseEquality19 Well I do, if gays can't show respect to people why should i show respect to them. Why should i support their movement when they attack people's personal right to free speech. Oh and gays have sued churches. Their is like 5 cases in which that has happened. You can look it up. A couple of gays were made because a church would not perform their marriage cermony and they sued the church. this has happened various of times. Look it up and prove yourself wrong.

  • @iamasuicidalchick

As I've said many times before, you are generalizing all Homosexual people. You are claiming they all act a certain way just because you've had some experiences in which they have. Some Heterosexual people are rude as well. Should we deny all of them their basic right to marry because some of them are rude? I don't think you would defend that, yet you seem to only for Homosexual people. All I'm saying, as far as "free speech" and "religion" are concerned is this...

  • @iamasuicidalchick

And I never claimed you were wrong when you said that same-sex couples have sued churches that refuse to perform services for them. I said if it a service that is federally recognized they have no right to deny them, regardless of their beliefs. So, I'm not "proving" myself wrong. Perhaps you should look into why they sued the churches instead. And once again, only five cases out of thousands of same-sex couples. Plus, the Bible does not say anything about same-sex marriage.

  • @DiverseEquality19 Still against same sex marriage

  • @iamasuicidalchick

Good for you. Never said you had to be for it, even though your reasoning is ridiculous.

  • @DiverseEquality19 No, just you think its ridiculous. I feel most sorry for the parents of gay children. Having a gay child to me would be terrible.

  • @iamasuicidalchick

No, I know a lot of people that would think your way of thinking is both regressive and ridiculous. Why would it be terrible? Because their sexuality differs from what is considered "normal"? All your seeing is sexual attraction when referencing a "gay child".

  • @DiverseEquality19 I rather have a normal child.

  • @iamasuicidalchick

What is considered "normal"? Normal is a matter of opinion. Parents do not get to pick and choose what traits a child will have. What if you had a child that was Homosexual? What would you do? A child that is Homosexual is no different then a Heterosexual child, expect for sexual orientation.

You're living proof why some people shouldn't have children.

  • @DiverseEquality19 Throw them out of my house. If you live in my house and im supporting you, you must follow my rules and i will not raise any gay children. My friends made the choice to be gay and i watched them get kicked out and i told them that their parents had every right to. No mother wants to know that her son will not be having children or will be marrying a woman. That's just my opinion. I don't want gay children.

  • @iamasuicidalchick

Wow, I do feel sorry for any children that are unlucky enough to have you for a mother. Love of a parent, like all love, should be unconditional. Your friends chose to be "gay"? Homosexual people do not choose their sexual orientation any more than a heterosexual person does. You still are looking at homosexual people as just their sexual orientation and not as people. A homosexual man can still produce children, only infertile people (including heterosexuals) are unable.

  • @DiverseEquality19 My love will be unconditional. Just like my mothers was. There were things she accepted and things she did not accept. Thats how i will be. Just like my mother and my mother was a loving person. I honestly don't care if you don't agree with me. If i don't want gay children, then i dont want gay children. Also, homosexual people are not just their sexual, they are much more. My gay friends were the only ones who were their after my attempted suicide.

  • @iamasuicidalchick

No, it won't be. You said you would kick them out of your house if you found out that they were Homosexual. That means your love would be conditional. Do you know what that word means? In other words, as long as they would be like you would like them to be, Heterosexual, you would love them. But apparently if they weren't Heterosexual, your "love" would diminish to the point that they are no longer worthy of living in your house.
