  • वाह!

  • naa to kaarvaan naa to humsafar ki talaash...

  • the greatest qawwali ever...

  • correction- Composed by Nusrat Fateh ali Khan's father - became popular when NFAK sang it. Na Buth kade ki Talasgh hai is the name of the song to be precise.

  • Just incredible. I've searched this Qawwali to see if there is a more modern version with better sound quality but I've been able to find anything. How could this amazing Qawwali not have been redone many times since 1960?

  • unmatched composition, music and singing, a masterpiece in its sense, why do we compare with Nusratji? there is enough place for many masters in our hearts don't we?

  • Just fantastic.... no words to describe the beauty..

  • In my opinion, this is Number 1 Qawwali by far. Nusrat fateh Ali khan or his father has nothing to do with. Sahir's wrote unparralled lyrics and Roshan composed the memorable music. This one is for the ages. Just enjoy; it does not get better than this.

  • revolutionary lyric(only sahir Can do)

  • Look at the clarity and pitch of sound..............Nusrat when used to sing it looks to me he is under water.

  • That fat ox head got inspired from this qwalli and started singing................just stop this crep for the time being.

  • just 12 hrs? amazing, this song is pure ecstacy, who else can rival the singing, lyrics, the music( dont know whether its inspired from ustad Fateh sahab), everything. Its just impossible for today's crop of MDs who create something like DK Bose and Kolaveri(music is authentic and terrific) to even some close to this. Rafi, Manna, Asha, SD Batish, Sudha Malhotra are incomparable in this

  • In "geetmala ki chhaon main" Singer Sudha malhotra has mentioned to Ameen sayani that They recorded thois song in 12 hours in one sitting

  • At 04:11 there is a slip of tongue and Manna Dey intervenes with a short "aa" but stops there!!! Perhaps he had become impatient with repeated rehearsals.

  • The tune and wording of this qawwali are based on another qawwali "na to butkade ki talab mujhe, na harem ke dar ki talash hai; jahan lut gia hai skoon-e-dil usi rahguzar ki talash hai" written possibly by poet late Abdul Hameed Adem, which was sung by Ustad Fateh Ali Khan (father of late Ustad Nusrat Ali Khan) during 1948-49 or later and recorded by Radio Pakistan. However, Sahir's words and Roshan's composition are much more sublime and sophisticated than the older version.

  • عالی و زیبا و یاد جوانی .و.و.و.و

  • Aaiye kuch charcha karen is qualli ki . ye mehej 1 qualli nahi ishq ki ibaadat kahoongi . isme prem ko meera ki bhakti jitni shudhata dee gayi hai .itna hi nahi ishq agar pak ho to khuda ya bhagwan se milne ka jariya bataya gaya hai .isliye aisi QWAALI sun ne k baad jab ishk kamina jaise geet sunte hain to hairat kum gussa jyada aata hai . MUBARAK HO ROSHAN PARIWAR JO IS ISHK KI JEETA JAAGTA OODAAHARN hai matlab hritik au sujain ji se hai .........

  • thanks kamyogi ...

  • Roshan, the composer of this qawwali was asked to compose a qawwali for the film. He went to Rampur (U.P) where all the qawwali progs were held. For one month he attended these progs and learnt all the technics of a qawwali. He rehearsed for six days with Rafi, Mannada, Asha, Sudha etc. Manna got fed up with rehearsals and got angry. Eventually at the seventh day the final rehearsal was okayed and recorded, Imagine the perfaction of Rosah Lal ( father of Rajesh and Rakesh Rosahn)

  • This is fairly complete even though at two places a syllable or two is missed. This is noticeable only if you listen very carefully. However thanks for uploading the complete song. Most of the other uploads are not complete.

A great treat not only for the ears but also for the eyes!!!

  • Can watch it n number of times.

  • @fahadkhansummbal12

Nusratji was born in 1948, the movie was made in 1960 and the qawwali probably a year or two earlier. Do you mean Nusratji composed this at the age of 12?! The movie titles say that Roshanji has composed the music and lyrics are written by Sahirji without any mention of Nusratji. Could you please explain what makes you say so?

  • @kamyogi

This qawwali shares a lot of music with Nusrats rendition of Bulle shah's "mera eh charkha Naulakha Kurrey".

hence the confusion in someone's mind.

Obviously this music has been floating around north india like a cloud for centuries

there is nothing original and this qawwali borrows freely from several traditons, like Nusrat does.

and we are greateful to all these musicians for bringing this soulful music to us stopping by to listen at this time....

  • @kamyogi Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan did not copy this tunes. The tunes used in the barsat ki raat were in fact copied from Ustad Fateh Ali Khan, who was nusrats father. "na to caravan ki talash" was copied from ustad fateh ali khans "na butkade ki talab"

  • @kamyogi This was composed and sung by Ustad Fateh Ali khan, Nusrat's father!!!

  • @kamyogi It was ustad fateh ali khan- mubarak ali khan qawaal duo, who composed this music. Ustad fateh ali khan was Nusrats father. No one is denying the greatness of the singers, I mean rafi, manna dey etc are unparalled. And yes sahirji wrote a great proportion of the lyrics, but at the same time I always feel credit should always be given to the original composer. It is a practice that is unfortunately not followed in either india or pakistan,

  • @lazad87 well said brother i am Indian but i also firmly think that the original artist should be always credited for his composition this is ustad fateh ali saheb`s original composition "na toh butkade ki talaash hai" music is universal nobody can tie it into boundries of country, class or creed it is spiritual and above all this so please leave it that way only.

  • cant be a better qawwali than this one .. makes me feel somethin whenever i hear this song .. gives me goose bumps .. what meaning .. what singing .. and what music .. Roshan saab gave us some immortal qawwalies ..... lovely acting

  • IF I were to be given a chance to go back to my happiest time in life it would be sitting in the car on the beach in Dar with mom and dad in front and my sister and me at the back with this song playing through the car stereo. No song will ever do what this does to the listener, it's all the talent and an everlasting composition rendered to perfection so for me to be able to access it here is chance to loose myself in the past. Thank you so much for this time capsule of happiness

  • Beautiful ! Can someone tell me who is the screen singer ( male ) here ?

  • Mother of all qwwalies.

  • WOW!!! This is called singing...All you can hear is just Dholak and the singers...not many music instruments that are overpowering the singers like these days....No MATCH!!!

  • thanks for such a treat

  • No doubt the greatest qawwali in a movie setting. There are so many good singers in this rendition, but I can only recognize rafi, manna dey and asha with confidence. The three sang very well, but the smooth voice of Rafi just appears to be so pleasant.

  • If there is going to be qawwali in paradise, I guess THIS would be it ...

  • Great upload!!!! Great song!!!!!

  • it touches strings of my heart every time i listen to this qawalli. It's just divine................ what else can one say?

  • "inteha ye hai ki bande ko khuda karta hai ishque"

ONLY Sahir can concieve thses words!

Nothing more needs to be said!

  • awesome

  • It’s a great combination of classical music.

  • i lke very much

  • Every little facet, detail and exquisite moment comes together perfectly and not a single atom of life is out of place. That's what performances like this prove..that perfection is not out of reach, when the best of the best collaborate, share and pool their vast talents into one golden moment in time. A few minutes, actually.

Thanks for this gorgeous upload, and the memory of our past greatness.

  • this is the Qawali i have ever heard

  • this is the best song i ever heard

  • Wow, let me try to describe what I feel and think about this immortal Filmi Qawwali. If the music lovers do not agree with me, then my humble request would be to pardon me. ”In the history of music in our subcontinent, hundreds of filmi qawwalies have been produced both with small and high budget display. But this Filmi Qawwali has no extravagant projection. The producer of this film has gathered all the petals of the rose in such a classic way that it has become an immortal gift". (27 12 2010)

  • @mrshahcph Well said my friend. I find this particular rendition to be the best.
