Did you know that only 4 months after the invasion elections where being held, and the US occupation government ordered them to stop? Or the fact that they fired everyone in the Iraq military (who became the main force of the Insergency)? Or that everypublic institute was sold by the US to US corporations for next to nothing?
@dave19941000 Yeah I knew that. And it true that intitially the insurgency was Iraqis. Mostly from the military and Baath party who were basically told they could legally have no part in a new Iraq. That was a mistake and an admitted mistake. But when Iraqis started dieing at the hands of those people the people turned and it ended up being a lot of foreigners in Iraq causing trouble. They were pouring across the Syrian border. Not to mention Iranian spec ops.

Certainly there were shady deals. In my view any no bid contract is shady. But the idea we went to war to help US corporations (which seems to be your implication) is wrong. That isn't to say that some of those corporations didn't root for war.

The US has less regulations then Germany, but corporations rate the US as the #4 most regulated country behind China, India and Japan, why? Because it is on what is regulated. I don't think that somebody that spent extra years in school, in order to become a neurosurgeon, deserves to give around 30 percent of their annual income back, while somebody that dropped out of school, at the age of 16, deserves to give around 5 percent of their annual income back to the government. Through the years of 2000 through 2008 (the years with Bush as president), the national debt increased about 5 trillion dollars...in just 8 years. When Obama took office in 2009, the debt was a little over 9 trillion dollars. The debt is now over 15 trillion dollars. He added 6 trillion in under 3 years.There's a fact for ya.

I know there's no way, but I'll throw him a bone. Even if that were the case though, he has spent over 5 trillion dollars since he was elected just a little over 3 years ago. That is 5 trillion in 3.3 years, as opposed to Bush's 4 trillion in 8 years.

Bush-Cheney (2001-2009): From 5 trillion to 12 trillion dollars.

From what I can tell, pretty much ALL American politicians are guilty of being liberal. The difference is what kind; Republicans/"conservatives" (quoted because many are actually reactionary) are classical liberals because they believe in freedom from harm (protecting us from big government), Democrats are social liberals because they want freedom to develop.
In any case, we all want freedom. Unless the idea degrades in a couple generations. Which it might at this rate.

Did you know that only 4 months after the invasion elections where being held, and the US occupation government ordered them to stop? Or the fact that they fired everyone in the Iraq military (who became the main force of the Insergency)? Or that everypublic institute was sold by the US to US corporations for next to nothing?

@dave19941000 Yeah I knew that. And it true that intitially the insurgency was Iraqis. Mostly from the military and Baath party who were basically told they could legally have no part in a new Iraq. That was a mistake and an admitted mistake. But when Iraqis started dieing at the hands of those people the people turned and it ended up being a lot of foreigners in Iraq causing trouble. They were pouring across the Syrian border. Not to mention Iranian spec ops.

Certainly there were shady deals. In my view any no bid contract is shady. But the idea we went to war to help US corporations (which seems to be your implication) is wrong. That isn't to say that some of those corporations didn't root for war.

The US has less regulations then Germany, but corporations rate the US as the #4 most regulated country behind China, India and Japan, why? Because it is on what is regulated. In the US there are not enough regulations on the environment or on Corporations and Financial institutes, but there are to many on small business. Also remember that Churchill was a conservative.

I think there is a prevailing mix-up between neo-conservative and true Republican. I consider myself mostly Republican, but I was against the Iraq war, and support abortion in cases of rape, incest, and when the mother's life is threatened.
However, global warming is a scam created by Al Gore, who causes more carbon emissions by himself than 5,000 average people, and stands to make billions from his investments in "green energy" if it becomes policy. Correlation does not equal causation.

I'm not sure if you realize this, but global warming has nothing to do with Al gore. Who cares what errors there are in his movie? He's not a scientist. The vast majority of scientists accept global warming, just like they accept evolution. Go take some college level courses rather than playing Nintendo.

Evolution is pretty much a fact. The evidence behind it is just too strong to refute, even by butt-hurt creationist fanatics.
However; I have yet to see a strong compilation of scientific facts that support climate change being a result of human activity, as opposed to a result of natural planetary and solar cycles. Temperature increases and decreases appear to be consistent with changes in solar activity. They don't seem to have a real relation with fossil fuel use.

And yes, you're correct, Republicans do intervene in some respects, but Democrats intervene in a more threatening manor. By imposing excessive gun regulations Democrats threaten citizens' ability to rebel against a government when it becomes corrupt. Creating a perfect environment for INGSOC to develop.
