@thedarknight307 They're both great in different ways. Mask of the Phantasm has that feel we've come to know and love about classic Batman and is distinctly more...cerebral than Return of the Joker. But, on the other hand, Return's better in terms of action sequences and, as mentioned, Hamill has a bigger part to play. Personally though, despite the fact that Hamill get's more...erm...voice time in Return, I think the stuff he did in Mask is leagues more memorable.

I think the reason the filmmakers decided to have Terry, not Bruce, be the one who kills the Joker is so that Terry could prove once and for all that he is indeed worthy of being Batman. Think about it: he did something the original Batman could never do (and not for lack of trying). The student has surpassed the teacher. Now he is vengeance. He is the night. He is Batman!

@Jack0ps Nah, Joker was actually stronger in Tim Drake's body than he was in his own body. If you recall, he tells Terry during their fight that he knows all of Batman and Robin's moves/tricks/techniques as well, which would probably include their tolerance to pain. Joker in his own healthy body would probably have lost this fight much sooner and in the same way, IMO; Terry isn't a slouch when it comes to fighting, even without the years of training Bruce has had.

@TheJesterGirl I dunno, they did a good job with him. He was about to kill Terry seeing that he was now a fighter on par with the original Batman and Robin. All villains have massive egos which ultimately end up being their downfall. In this case, Terry realized that the only way to beat the Joker was to hurt his pride and taunt him about how he could never defeat the old Batman. So in a way, when you think about it, old Batman had just as much to do with the Joker's loss as the new Batman =P

At first when I heard Batman Beyond was coming out, I was really skeptical and never watched the series because I didn't want my fond memories of growing up with the best cartoon ever being tarnished... but after I saw the Batman Beyond movie and saw just how much amazing attention to continuity and detail they put into the entire show, I instantly became a fan. Oh yeah THX, dass du das geuploadet hast! Die Szene ist der Hammer (und ein würdiger Abgang für den Joker). Ich hab die US-Uncut-Fassung (hierzulande gibt's ja nur die geschnittene Version zu kaufen, leider) von dem Film, ist megageil und neben The Dark Knight mein Lieblingsbatmanfilm. ^_^
