shadowmere cant die so he has no way of loosing

@keeganowen12 He can die... he just regenerates insanely fast. The only way to kill him is for it to be swarmed by two cave bears, a saber cat, and a dragon. Don't ask how I found this out. Also, he respawns 15-20 in game days later at his place of death... so mark it if he does die.
