@snorin check out any song off their new album "Edge of The Earth". Even though I love this song, it is probably my least favorite on the album if that makes any sense lol. Listen to Earth's Dust, Apparitions, Awakening, or Sands of Time. They have a similar style to this.

Not to mention the instrumentals on this album are PERFECT. They seriously came as close to perfection as you can when executing timing. The musicianship in this album is much better than that album. I still like conclusion of an age but this style fits the band much better.

@Ooger77 I've dealt with similar people like you already. Genres can't label bands well. Look at simple Deathmetal. Cannibal Corpse and One Man Army and the Undead Quartet are the same genre but sound COMPLETELY different. I agree its good way to organize music but people take it way out of hand. Everyone likes their own sounds in music. So I say it all owns. BTW my statement made me in no way ignorant. YOU are actually being the "ignorant piece of shit". Pretty generic. The only thing worth mentioning is the noodling, which sounds remarkably out of place when given a backdrop of run-of-the-mill whateverthenameforthegenreisthisweek-core. It's a pity, because it seems like he's not only got some talent on the guitar but also has a decent voice. Unfortunately he's opted to scream like a lunatic, and screamers are a dime a dozen.
@EricWolfborn You're still stuck at the point where you don't like Harsh vocals? Pretty much every Metal fan grows to like them by the age of 18 at the latest.
Clean opera vocals flat out don't fit with heavier forms of metal. Bands like Iron Maiden made it work because the guitars were tuned and produced in a much lighter tone and the pacing of the music suited it. This type of crushing sound requires Screams to go along with it to add to the energy of the song instead of retract from it.
@Deliverance02x Actually, most metal fans grow out of the harsh vocal stage by the end of high school. The appreciation of melody and vocal depth isn't something you should teach yourself to ignore.
The simple fact is that growlers all sound alike, and bring nothing new to the table. You could shift any one of them to a different band and the difference would be entirely negligible.
From a guitarist standpoint, this guy is freaking talented. Aside from seeing the studio videos, the fact that he has him playing that sweep/tap part of the song on a clean setting at the end shows how awesome his technique is. And he sings while playing??? Ridiculous!

@Colton527 Roadrunner Records started whispering in Heafy's ear (It started with the Shogun DVD - They told him to put the words "Down From The Sky" into the chorus). That's what happened. And now they have a band that puts out derivative hooks with slick sugar-coated production. The music is worse, but Roadrunner gets an act that makes them a lot more money.
I'm a pacifist, but I will make an exception and rip Monte Connor's bollocks off if he ruins Gojira too. I really will.

@reidclanproductions ah ok, thanks for the info. well he does need some more experience in screaming but it already sounds pretty decent. he still has that "Black metal vibe" in his screaming so that`s why u can tell he "just started" haha
but its cool! i just dont like the downtuning because they were known for facemelting standard tuning riffage and not downtuning that every other band does......

Pretty generic. The only thing worth mentioning is the noodling, which sounds remarkably out of place when given a backdrop of run-of-the-mill whateverthenameforthegenreisthisweek-core. It's a pity, because it seems like he's not only got some talent on the guitar but also has a decent voice. Unfortunately he's opted to scream like a lunatic, and screamers are a dime a dozen.

@EricWolfborn You're still stuck at the point where you don't like Harsh vocals? Pretty much every Metal fan grows to like them by the age of 18 at the latest.
Clean opera vocals flat out don't fit with heavier forms of metal. Bands like Iron Maiden made it work because the guitars were tuned and produced in a much lighter tone and the pacing of the music suited it. This type of crushing sound requires Screams to go along with it to add to the energy of the song instead of retract from it.

@Deliverance02x Actually, most metal fans grow out of the harsh vocal stage by the end of high school. The appreciation of melody and vocal depth isn't something you should teach yourself to ignore.
The simple fact is that growlers all sound alike, and bring nothing new to the table. You could shift any one of them to a different band and the difference would be entirely negligible.

From a guitarist standpoint, this guy is freaking talented. Aside from seeing the studio videos, the fact that he has him playing that sweep/tap part of the song on a clean setting at the end shows how awesome his technique is. And he sings while playing??? Ridiculous!

@Colton527 Roadrunner Records started whispering in Heafy's ear (It started with the Shogun DVD - They told him to put the words "Down From The Sky" into the chorus). That's what happened. And now they have a band that puts out derivative hooks with slick sugar-coated production. The music is worse, but Roadrunner gets an act that makes them a lot more money.
I'm a pacifist, but I will make an exception and rip Monte Connor's bollocks off if he ruins Gojira too. I really will.
