yeah i in my late 40s hearing this is memories bring back the child hood you once had but hey my kids listen to it till this day and the 80s still live on forever
1st memory of jon stevens was listening to his song on the school bus in Pukekohe and when Montego Bay came out! the bus was rocking....loved these two songs of his...then he disappeared, now i know where...off to the Land Of OZ...and he's still rocking it!!..
howzadog-I still old enough to remember 'c'mon' then 'hullabaloo' before 'ready to roll' and still recall when the music style somehow 'changed' from pop (which I liked) to become funky (which I didn't like cos it was harder to dance to). Memories!
At the time Jon was one of the few NZ musicians to hit number one in the charts (how times have changed). From memory he nailed it for quite a few weeks too. Great memories, thanks. Who remembers having a bath and then having tea while watching Ready to Roll on black and white TV? Lovely memories.
@babyblue091000 omg we must be the same area lol. so use to go to all those pl, even worked a Peppermill some times and Fathers Moustache then it changed to Chases lol..
Pity you don't have the video, showing Jon with his tight Pants and the sock stuffed down the crutch. I saw that video and it was a Laff, he looked like John Holmes...lawl. Good song tho. Thanks for posting.
