now yes the skin looks real enough in movement and visuals, but the 2 main problems i ALWAYS see with Facial animation is:
1. the Eyes, they always look dead and with a tinge of Graphical bitty outline just under the lids.
2. i noticed CGI moves a little faster than actual real things in frame rate.
please don't get me wrong, i'm not trying to be mean here, this is Amazing work and i faved this video, but i just always see those 2 problems and other small Nuances
Yes, cool tech but entirely different. They have a whole different set of constraints as a result. Regardless, we are very much looking forward to that game.
@fir3pimp It's not far away at all, all it needs is the extra detail and polish, the expressions are almost perfect, the only give away is that the model is lacking extremely intimate detail. Bring on some movie special effects artists such as mask makers and they'll take this head and make it completely realistic in no time. The only give away will be the eyes, they need subtle variable focus points in order to look real, right now they just stare blankly in any given direction with no focus.
@fir3pimp "a few generations away from movie quality" We agree, this isn't movie quality. Movie quality requires artists and post production, this has none. This is video game quality.

@ShoopdaWhop Motion scan still has a a lot of bugs and isn't quite what they wanted it to be. Besides i think this looks a lot better.

The upper lip is weird. It looks like you just came from the dentist and your upper lip is numb. But other than that, everything is great!
I'm very impressed with the puffing up the cheeks!
