V6 Mustangs are fast but not super fast. Their not slow either. All you haters need to drive one before you comment negatively. Their actually kind off fun but still nothing against the GT.
@nickSproductions2 2005, its available for all models. but you have to get the IUP (interior upgrade package) which gives you the leather seats, aluminum dash/ steering and the MY COLOR cluster. the cluster has an additional of 2 more gauges, plus shows how much mpg your get, and not to mention 120 different colors to choose from. i wish i had it :'(
Car is gone I sold it to pay some bills. I still have my 85 drag car. Although say the 4.0s are slow??? I beg to differ. These cars are daily drivers and get about 25 MPG Hwy miles give or take and are as stock as hell and run great. I can only imagine what they would run with a turbo. Fast no but to say there slow!!! No they are not slow by no means.
@jsusisaliv With a few bolt ons and a trac-loc/gears I have my 4.0 hitting 60 in just under 6 (5.7 with a really good launch) not bad at all for the "slow" version. Not the quickest thing out there, but far from the slowest.
5.0 magazine had one run the 1/4 in 13.9 with slicks intake exhaust and a tune.
@jsusisaliv Don't worry just another ignorant youtube commenter. The 4.0 Stangs are by no means slow, and even in the 05-09 models they boasted more HP and torque than the original Mustang V8s. I feel your pain on the sale as well... I sold my 2007 GT to buy a truck so I wouldn't have to beg for rides to the desert and hockey rink and such.
@jsusisaliv I drove a turbo '07 V6 and it was pushing 350HP, that car had some balls, spinning like crazy in all of 1st and second gear when the turbo spooled up. I even told my friend, "This is the only time I'm going to say this, but that is one bad-ass V6"
@Motorfordtoyota The V6 Mustang isn't, never was, and never will be a tire burning performance car. Its an everyday car. I drive mine year round. Its plenty fast for me.
@Motorfordtoyota Sure, the V6 Mustang is no record breaker but its far from slow. Also, no one buys a V6 Mustang because of its performance. I would have still bought mine even if it had a 2.0L 4 cylinder.
0-60 doesn't really show much. It depends mostly on the first gear ratio and launch. I've had stock 4.7L Tundras that are running low 16s @ 86 mph keep up with my 14.5 @ 95 mph Mustang until abouut 50 mph at thge dragstrip. Literally, they stay right next to me until I hit second gear and then I pull away. That pretty much sums up what 0-60 tells you: nothing. 0-100 is better.
@MangoSmoothie16 For what? I used to pull them easy back when my car was slow. I am trapping 106 mph on motor and over 115 mph on bottle now and I would say the car is just reaching the point of being decent, still not "fast".
Its about 6.5 seconds, but, consider this, your car has 4.0L, and gets that. A little Scion tC, will get about 7 seconds at least in a manual trim, and it has 2.4L. You have a wanna be Mustang, next year, 2011, is where the real Mustang V6s can play.
It's not a wanna be mustang. It is a REAL V-6 mustang I use as a daily driver NOT at the drag strip. I never tried to say it was a power house. Just having fun with videos. Check my other videos if you want to see what you call a "real mustang"
@Planeguy13@Planeguy13 Supercharged tCs will stomp on V6 Mustangs easy, seen it bro, they rape V6 Mustangs that even have I/H/E, Until 2011 V6 stangs blow, the GT is my favorite car ever, but screw that shitty 4.0L
@Apoth3cary In what world is 7.2 seconds faster then 6.6 seconds? I don't mean to be an ass but prove that the stock Scion tC is faster then a Mustang V6...
@Planeguy13 the stock tC can beat a 99 and under V6, and can depending on driver keep up with a 99-04 V6, 05 and up a stock tC cant keep up with, but a Supercharged tC can beat the V6 Mustang, think about it, 200hp tC(a lot lighter as well), vs 210hp Mustang
IS yours auto or manual, I doubt you guys with autos can get better than the magazines post, maybe you can with manual if your a beast, but not with auto.
mine is a auto there underated I haven't done any mods to the vehicle since I bought it but its used so idk if it had a tune or anything. I know about visible mods and there isn't any so it might just be stock.
ight now we are going to keep it stock. I put a GT grille on it but other than that that is it for now. All my $ is going into my 85 GT lol. I may eventually put dual exhaust on it and some bolt ons ETC but will not go too far with it. It is very quick right now and I am very happy with its performance for a every day driver.
6.42 seconds...not horrible. Change the gearing...and add a CAI...you can maybe shave off probably another .60 seconds.
I have this in a manual trim...love it...I think I clocked 6.32 in mine...thats the quickest I ran so far...the funny thing is haters all say this car sucks...they know nothing about it, and probably never driven one. I love mine.
change the valve body in the auto to a manual valve body and you'll have precise and extremely quick shifts...the only downside is the torque converter...soo...add more torque!
@Tigeron1a I agree 100%, the 4.0 cologne engines are not as slow or bad as people say they are. while they are anything like 4.6, its not a bad car for the money.
@Tigeron1a from 6 sec in video to 13sec in the video...that'd be 7 sec 0-60.. the shift at like, 58-59mph is what makes up the extra half sec. i have same issue in my car. 2nd redline is just about 59 lol.
Thise V6 Mustangs are slow
MaddDogg81 1 month ago
Consider that a 66 GT did it in 7.2 and the 69 Mach 1 did it in in 5.3... This isn't bad at all for a V6.

Thats a good run for a stock V6. Mine is close to stock with just an exhaust and a few visuals, but i love it to death.
I need to run my 0-60 time as well, I was riding with my dad in his Xterra and it ran a 6.8 with badass tirespin.
