@PiplupLuv1 Nope. He gains the ability at the end of Eternal Night. He gets caught up in the thing flowing out of the Mountain of Malefor when the eclipse happens, which caused the energy amount flowing through it to multiply, thus turning Spyro into Dark Spyro, and pretty much making him lose his mind and control.
