It's not that outdated. Plenty of Western Airlines fly equivalent technology - MD-11s or 757s/ 767s.

@gert83 No, it is outdated. It is made with tech. from the MD-11's and 757/767's era. Can you seriously compare this aircraft's avionics suite to those of current generation commercial airliners? No. Those MD-11's and 757/767's are flying around still, because they can still fly around. Hell, AA still has hundreds of MD-80's flying around.

America has enough one aircrafts, europe too. Ill 96 hfs only appeared at market. It's prise low then price of analoge - airbus and boeings. But it is neccesary to develope service of this plane, to produse good spare parts, end ets. Cube used to fly by planes of Soviet Union, they have special infrastructure, now it is very excpencive to change it.

He tenido la oportunidad de volar en el 767-300, A340-300, y finalmente el Il-96-300, no tiene nada que envidiarle a los demas, incluso su interior es mas silencioso durante el vuelo que el Boeing y Airbus..

Yo odeo comunismo, pero ese avión me encanta. Lo que noté fué que el comandante (piloto, no infidel kastrado) no usó fuerza total de despegue.

I hate communism, but that A/C amazes me. What I noticed was that the commandant (pilot, not infidel kastrate) didn't explore full throttle.
