He was origanally the only singer, Cristina started out as a session singer for them. She joined because they liked they way her AND Andrea's voices complimented each other. Some people need to open their minds a bit more, Evanescence and Lacuna Coil are two different bands with completely separate styles. Neither copies one another. Ev may have had more commercial success and LC are arguably more interesting and unique. Im not taking sides.

first of all, amy is talented. if you really want to argue about her, you should listen to her performing unplugged....sometimes she sings badly in shows because she jumps, headbangs, dances, and therefore there's not enough air in her lungs, and she can't sing very well.
