What is that phoenix in between the tail lights mean? i have one with that, and one without. Is it just an option or is it supposed to indicate something
is that baniff blue i know my 81 was original baniff blue based on the cowl tag so thats what i painted it and its a nice lookin blue like yours. nice car
The trans-am has vents in the front fenders, ground effects, shaker hood (except the turbo) and were the only models with the bird on the hood. The trans-am's and the formulas had the rear spoiler. The formula has all of the performance/suspension upgrades of the trans-ams, but without the decals and body mods. The formula's also had their own hood. I own an 81' 305 (350 now) Formula with a 4-speed. The 301's also came with 4-speeds, but were rare.
the turbo ones were autos, but they made a 4speed 305, wich was actuall very rare i found out, because i had onem and sold it cheap to by my cobra, and now i regret it, and i wanna buy another one.
usually the trans am has more aggressive-looking body pieces (ground effects, bumpers, spoilers, etc.) and had more powerful engines. You just gotta look at a regular firebird and a T/A side by side. The differences might be subtle but you'll see 'em.

i got a 81 305 se with out t tops i did not know how rare it is .... only 15 305 se's with out t tops ... i felt warm and fuzzy when i found out :3

the trans am has the whale tail(spoiler) peice on the trunk, most of the firebirds ive seen dont have a spoiler.
did they make a turbo 301' with a 4 speed?
