Not calling bullshit, and not sure of your exact mods BUT, I have a DVX400, with HMF pipe, rejetted, K$N filter, stock gearing, and 21" tires and I am running right around 70. Even if you dropped to a 15tooth front, you may get 5mph extra.
dude my friend has a stock z400 with a full yoshi exhaust which is the exact same as a dvx 400 and it will only do 73-74, 85-90 doesnt even happen with the 450's

nope no valve problems,but make sure ur chain isnt loose or it will break all the teeth off your front sprocket,and yes the fenders just unbolt
