I think the zoom in over the audience is fake.... they use a laugh track, that sounds like a few people in a very small studio. They don't film before that audience.
"got to love lib trolls. If you don't agree with the show watch something else."
No, I think I'll watch this. Watching this trainwreck is almost as entertaining as watching something that is actually funny. Conservatives are not funny; as soon as someone becomes conservative they instantly become not funny, like Dennis Miller.
The Daily Show is made by funny people who want be funny on TV. This toxic waste is made by Rupert Murdoch peons that were told to counter the Daily Show.
You said: "This toxic waste is made by Rupert Murdoch peons that were told to counter the Daily Show."
Wrong. It was created by writer/producer Joel Surnow, who also created the long running show "24." He attended UC Berkeley & UCLA and is hardly a "peon" of Rupert Murdoch. Stop lying.
Quote: "Conservatives are not funny." Wrong again. Kelsey Grammer ("Frasier"), Drew Carey, John Ratzenberger (Cliff on "Cheers") David Zucker & Adam Sandler are all outspoken conservatives.
At the time that this show was cancelled, Bill Shine, the Senior Vice President of programming at Fox News, stated that "we are considering ways to retool the show for future scheduling needs." I wasn't lying.
Surnow went to Berkeley, so what? His other show is about terrorists constantly attacking the U.S. so a guy has to torture them to get information. Sounds like a conservative wet dream to me.
Drew Carey is funny? COME ON DOWN! YOUR THE NEXT CONTESTANT ON.....
You apparently have a reading comprehension problem. Re-read the paragraph in which I said, "stop lying." That paragraph deals only with your claim that the show was "made by RM peons told to counter The Daily Show." Ergo, "stop lying" refers to that lie, not another subject. Is there a reason you didn't get that?
My point about Surnow -- also missed by you -- is that he is hardly a right-wing "Murdoch peon" as you falsely allege. Moreover, you didn't even know he created 24.
Re Carey being funny, I guess that's subjective isn't it? He's not on my list of funniest comedians, but The Drew Carey Show had its moments. I should've listed Dennis Miller on my list instead of Carey, but of course you probably thought Miller was funny until you found out he's a conservative.
Re 24, perhaps you didn't watch or 'get' the show? It wasn't an endorsement of torture, per se. It presented the extremely complicated issue in such a way as to make people think.
I have to admit that you are at least partly right on Miller. But a comedic pundit who cannot see anything wrong with George Bush is like a gun with no bullets. He stopped being funny when he was living in the most divisive political era since Vietnam and he was still doing tired Clinton BJ jokes. Conservative or no he is no longer funny.
I have to admit that you are at least partly right on Miller. But a comedic pundit who cannot see anything wrong with George Bush is like a gun with no bullets. Surnow's description of the show initially was, "The Daily Show for conservatives," he shopped it to Fox and then took his money. Peon...
Well, I don't know how much time you've spent listening to, or watching, Dennis Miller over the last several years, but it can't have been much. He, like nearly every other conservative pundit I know of (Hannity, Beck, Coulter, Limbaugh, O'Reilly, et al.) was highly critical of Bush on MANY issues (e.g., border security, federal spending, the Dubai Ports fiasco, etc.). You're simply wrong.
I still listen to his radio show and watch him on The Factor. Still witty as hell IMHO.
@Ken5244 Interesting how "every political pundit you know of" except Limbaugh works for Fox. All of those guys pick one or two minor issues to disagree with Bush on so they can say they are "fair and balanced". Miller spent years, even after every reason given to go into Iraq turned out to be a total farce, being a Bush apologist. "I like Bush", "who cares if there were WMDs". He sure wasn't going on Leno, Daily Show etc. slagging Bush on border security or federal spending...
Actually, I said, " ... et al." also, meaning the ones I listed are merely among many others. Coulter is not employed by Fox, but it's not worth arguing over.
As for "picking minor issues to disagree with Bush on so they can say they're fair & balanced," I'm trying not to laugh at your profound ignorance. You clearly don't watch Fox much or listen to the aforementioned pundits' radio shows. Instead, your view of them comes from lying leftists' false reporting on them. Sad.
@Ken5244 You've watched Foxnews, right? "In a time of war, you should shut up and listen to your president", putting footage of other rallys on air to look like yours was a success. Fox News vigorously defended the Republicans and loves to give Obama a hard time for everything from how far he bowed to Japanese diplomats to the fact that his wife ate at McDonalds. More than one talking head on the channel said they are "showing the other side" admitting bias...
This is getting out of hand (as I knew it would) with too many topics branching off the original. I don't know where you got the "In a time of war ...." quote, but if you think that represents a literal, widespread view of conservatives, you're mistaken. I sure as hell don't think that, regardless of who the President is.
Fox News constantly skewers Republicans on too many issues for me to list here. You clearly don't watch it on any sort of regular basis.
You speak of Fox News as if its some monolithic entity where everyone is in lockstep (e.g., MSNBC, CBS, NBC, et al.). I agree it leans right in terms of the number of conservatives vs. leftists hosting their OPINION shows, but they are still light years beyond any other network when it comes to presenting both sides. As for hard news itself, Shepard Smith -- A DEMOCRAT -- is the host of Studio B, their key news program. Name another network that responds in kind.
Every one of the pundits I listed ripped Bush constantly during his eight years. CONSTANTLY. So did Michael Medved, Dennis Prager, Larry Elder and many other non-Fox conservatives. You obviously didn't listen to their radio shows or you'd know that. Your ignorance does you a great disservice.
As for Miller going on Leno or Stewart's shows, was he invited?
You need to get out more. The Daily Show, MSNBC, & their ilk are an echo chamber of dishonesty.
@Ken5244 MSNBC is garbage too, the same sort of biased crap, although not quite as bad. I mentioned Leno and Stewart as he was on those shows and wasn't exactly bashing Bush like you say he does, just making excuses for going in. I need to get out more? If you think MSNBC is an "echo chamber of dishonesty" and Fox News is "fair and balanced" you are deluded.
Stewart simply points out conservative dishonesty by showing (with actual footage), conservative pundits reacting defensively for Bush and slagging Obama 2, 3, 5 years later on the same issue. And, back to the beginning our our little debate, Stewart is far far funnier than the 1/2 Hour News Hour. Finally on the peon issue, I will again repeat the quote:
The show's cancellation was announced on August 14, 2007 and its last episode aired on September 23, 2007. At the time Bill Shine, the Senior Vice President of programming at Fox News, stated that "we are considering ways to retool the show for future scheduling needs." That's an employee (that is what I mean by peon, not literal indentured slave as you suggest) of Fox News saying that they will rework the show, meaning he has control of its content (which sucked really bad).
What would be "dishonest" about slagging Obama years later about a "same issue"?
What does "More than one ... admitting bias" mean? Isn't "showing the other side" the exact opposite of bias?
As for "peon," you're so tangled up you're tripping over yourself. The word means what it means, not what you "meant" it to mean or think it should mean. More importantly, Bill Shine DIDN'T CREATE the show -- you said it was "created by peons ...." So again, how was Surnow a peon?
As for "every reason for going into Iraq turned out to be a total farce," I don't have time nor space to answer that adequately. Miller said far more about Bush & Iraq than your single word-byte portrays.
I'm disappointed that you evaded the fact that your use of the word "peon" to describe Surnow was factually inaccurate and that you're not willing to cop to it.
You throw Larry the Cable Guy at me, I throw Kathy Griffin at you. I win. Sorry, you left me no choice. *wink*
@Ken5244 Look, we can argue semantics and look up the literal meaning of words for weeks. If you really think I meant "peon" as if Murdoch literally owned slaves then we are both wasting our time here. The 1/2 Hour News Hour was made by conservatives to counter the damage that was being done by the Daily Show. It was really, really bad and not even remotely funny in the way it was supposed to be. Murdoch or whoever bought to put on a supposed news station, an unwise move...
@Cabbagehead25 Surnow produced an incredibly bad show and shopped it to Fox. None of these statements are realistically in dispute. It is my opinion that Dennis Miller isn't funny anymore, and the vast majority of comedians that are funny are liberal leaning in their politics. Don't come back saying that Larry the Cable Guy is hilarious or something, I won't bite. By the way, someone listed your last comment as spam. It wasn't me...

@kickurr35 I'm not a conservative but this show are funny. Al Gore is a bit of a nutcase. I mean I am for protecting to the enviornment but I don't get him. I don't know if he would have been better than George W. Bush.

Please Dont Insult Mentally Retarded Folks. Liberals are Somewhere in Between a PCP-Inbred Rabies Rat. They Have Led To The Detriment of AMERICA and ARE The Reason MUSLIMS hate US. They Stand For Debauchery,Filth and The Decadence Most Normal Shy Away From.
It sure must look like it after decades of hard-left leaning news networks. 80% of the media votes Democrat and you dumbasses complain about one damn channel.
It's funny how liberals love political satire until its pointed back at them...:) You have to love those who want diversity of thought as long as you think like them.
This show is hilarious. Most of it is fucking retarded, but still makes me laugh. I am not a liberal or a conservative, but rather a libertarian...their commentary on the ACLU and Iran and the War on Terror is stupid and ignorant but still makes me laugh.
There are funny concervatives unfortunately this best of clip really is the best of the show, most of the rest of the show was just awful. I would love a really funny concervative show too bad the 1/2 hour wasn't it.
i love how you sissy liberals wont let conservatives have a show because it made you cry to damn much but yall already do that alot anyways --yall got all the news but FOX i dont care what yall dont like screw off and leave what we conservatives have alone-- yall are just dumbass spoiled kids most liberals are hypocrites free speech oh..oh unless it hurts yall crying liberal feelings
This stuff was funny. I never saw the show because I didn't know when it was on, but I'm sorry that it's not happening any more because most of this stuff was pretty good.
Dear Youtube, thank you for your service. I am an elderly person who does not have tv, and I am not too swift with a computer, but my discovery or YOU has open a whole new world to me. Thank You.
wait a second wasnt fox news fair and balanced?? why do they have a right wing version of the daily show?? and couldnt they come up with any fresh ideas?? i mean it's basicly the daily show but not funny...
I was sincerely hoping this would be funny; no such luck. Sorry guys, it doesn't work the other way. Jokes about the demise of America as we know it aren't as funny coming from the folks perpetuating its downfall. It's ok to lampoon things like rape and murder, as long as you're not a rapist or a murderer.

"waah, waah, Fox News is conservative!"
It sure must look like it after decades of hard-left leaning news networks. 80% of the media votes Democrat and you dumbasses complain about one damn channel.

The Daily Show isn't funny.
FalconOfStorms 3 years ago
who really finds this funny? it's so reactionary it loses sight of the humor.

It's funny how liberals love political satire until its pointed back at them...:) You have to love those who want diversity of thought as long as you think like them.
This is some very funny stuff!
bearless70 3 years ago
I don't think that is the problem...it's the fact that Fox actually CLAIMS to be
"Fair and Balanced" when in actuality they are FAR from it...and it's not just this show, it's the whole Fox News network.
SiNFury 3 years ago
Right. So funny Fox needed a laugh track.

This show is hilarious. Most of it is fucking retarded, but still makes me laugh. I am not a liberal or a conservative, but rather a libertarian...their commentary on the ACLU and Iran and the War on Terror is stupid and ignorant but still makes me laugh.

They stole everything from Jon Stewart; the graphics, the camera moves... too bad they couldn't steal any COMEDY.

The thing is John Stewart has creative freedom while these two are given their script after tedious fox censoring making it absolutely LAME.

There are funny concervatives unfortunately this best of clip really is the best of the show, most of the rest of the show was just awful. I would love a really funny concervative show too bad the 1/2 hour wasn't it.

This stuff was funny. I never saw the show because I didn't know when it was on, but I'm sorry that it's not happening any more because most of this stuff was pretty good.

Heh, "Road to Surrender" commemorative plates. Well-presented. I don't know how it would have worked as a longer bit, but I liked it at that pace.
Also the headline bits had some pretty good jokes. I particularly liked the Kim Jong-il closer.

Get it?
