The sing along to The Theme Song of PBS Kids Bookworm Bunch's very first show ever. The Flintstones is PBS Kids Bookworm Bunch's very first show ever.
You realize, after listening to this over and over yesterday, it took me most of this morning to get it out of my head...but it's worth it for a classic! :)
After all these years (I remember when it first aired) I finally know that one line: "Through the courtesy of Fred's two feet." Also, the singer's voice is interesting; oddly sensuous. I wonder if it's one voice, or they electronically added others, and melded them together...thanks for the lyrics...
lol...nixtiger...I was the very same way! That one line had me stumped until just now when I saw "...courtesy of Fred's two feet..." too funny! Glad that I wasn't the lone ranger with this. ( I am now middle-aged...lol)
I thought that I would add this funny note that goes right up with this humor--right beside me is an empty lot with the constructor's business sign...you might find this hard to believe, but the construction businesses name is...lol..."BEDROCK"...lol, no I am not making this up! AND the other day, when my dad and his wife dropped me off after lunch, they pointed out to the sign and said' "what a funny name for a business" and then we broke out into a chorus of "Meet the Flintstones" !!
@xxuncexx Maybe Fred is queer!! Ever thought of that one? After all Fred is the main character of the show. You don't know what Fred does when he is away from Wilma. He says he is going to work every morning but who knows he could be going to the gay bar down the street. His boyfriend could be Barney for all we know. To finish it off what Fred does in his spare time is none of our business.
What about that episode where Fred and Barney have to pretend to be flaming homosexuals because the only place open is a gay club and they want to get a drink? They meet Mr. Slate in there but they don't know it's him as he is a female impersonator.
That is why in the 70's with the "new flintstones" cartoon with pebbles a teenager. (I cannot believe I remember this) The ending was changed to "have a GRAND old time" I guess the meaning of the word "gay" had a changeover in the seventies. :)
Why do they have to show the name

And as if YOU own the word gay. I dont agree with homosexuality, but I would NEVER say something like that.
conka44180 3 years ago
The meaning of words change with time, pal. Once upon a time, "Sore" meant "angry" and if you told someone to "Screw", it meant "get out of here."
