  • show some respect to your elders little boy. have you not noted all the jobs created since rick perry was voted in as governor? oh, ..right. you are not old enough to work or vote but you live in a little fantasy world controlled by your ego that tells you that you have it all figured out. something you should focus on is your homework and choirs. why are you so theatrical anyway? did rick perry hurt your gay pride?

  • i didnt think it was possible to be worse than bush, but rick perry just might take the cake on that one...

  • If everyone that says they believe in god read the bible would peoples thoughts be different?

  • If Rick Perry becomes president, this country will deserve every bit of hate from the rest of the world that it can get.

  • Texaz?

  • Perry is a horrible govenor, and if he becoems president, he'll be a horrible president.

  • you kmow an identity athiest. Your image and personality revolve around atheism.

  • im an atheist too but I dont act like that all the time.

  • @AEVautomatic Act like what all the time? And "identity atheist crap", what does that mean?

  • I didnt know he was still in high school. should learn math and give up on the identity athiest crap.

  • Yea Perry needs to go away. If he gets president we are all fucked. Oh and for the people talking about speeding and accidents. According to statistics most accidents happen because of people driving below the speed limit.

  • You need to hit the books you act like a moron.

  • @AEVautomatic and yet he knows far more than the average senior in high school. Does it offend you that he's so straight forward in his videos. He does go on a bad rant sometimes but he gets the point across.

  • Yep. I live in Texas, my college will lose some of its funding soon as well - particularly the resources we use in which to conduct research.

  • It must be hard living there. I hope you'll enter the Fair Share Olympics

  • You're brilliant.

  • My wife is/was amath and science teacher here in the Houston area. About 3 years ago her school laid her off. She was unemployeed for almost 2 years only finding sub work. Now she working in the office of an industrial construction company. 5 years of college to become a teacher... for nothing....

  • @HoustonAtheist Wow. I'm sorry. Not very encouraging for me, because I want to be a teacher... I hope she finds a job doing what she loves soon. Take care.

  • An article today on huffpost said he's going to run for president....

  • I don't see what's wrong with going to a voucher system... people could go to private schools or public schools

and what benefit does a public school have over a private school other than cost?

I think a voucher system would be better.

  • @darris321 The voucher system is taking away funds from already underfunded public schools and giving them to private schools. Some of those private schools are also religious. So not only is it taking away money from already failing schools, but it is giving them to schools that wish to indoctrinate children.

  • @TheBarkingAtheist while I believe it isn't good to indoctrinate children, I also believe it isn't good for the state to decide what is important to learn. The children would probably be indoctrinated by their parents anyway. the point of public schools is to provide education for those who can't afford it, if the funds go to private schools, it doesn't really matter because the child's education is still paid for by the state.

at least, that's how it looks to me.

  • @darris321 Isn't good for the state to decide what is important to learn? The state also decides what the speed limit should be, but does that make mean that it's okay for our roads to have funds taken away just to make "private roads"?

And if the funds are going to private schools that have a religious affiliation, then, not only is there the possibility of indoctrinating children to the religion of the parents, but that is a violation of the Establishment Clause of the Constitution.

  • @TheBarkingAtheist I think if you had vouchers so that people could pay tolls on private roads, it would be the same thing as building public roads (if you also forced private companies to build roads in the middle of nowhere lol)

but speed limits are arbitrary too- people drive at the speed where they feel comfortable regardless of the state's decision.

It's not a violation because the establishment clause says "respecting an establishment of religion" not "treating religious things equally"

  • @darris321 Yes, people will still speed, but that doesn't make it legal. Any more than people will still kill, but that doesn't make it legal.

"Respecting an establishment of religion" has been defined as funding religiously affiliated schools. But I will concede that the Supreme Court has said that vouchers don't violate the Establishment Clause, as much as I think that decision is wrong.

Now, I might have less of a problem with vouchers, if they weren't going to religious schools.

  • @TheBarkingAtheist the difference is that killing will necessarily take a life and so it will necessarily violate that person's right to life

speeding is just going faster than the government thinks you should and it will not be obeyed so there is no point to make a law regulating speed or a law against anything that doesn't hurt people from its base.

you can speed and be careful not to hurt someone

you can't murder someone while being careful not to hurt someone.

  • @darris321 No point in regulating the speed on roads? What about school zones, or just any road really? Just because people can be "safe" while driving over the speed limit does not mean that collisions won't happen. People can also be safe while smoking cigarettes; it's their chose and right to do so, but there are laws against smoking in certain public areas to avoid harm to others. But this is off topic. Agree to disagree, perhaps?

  • @TheBarkingAtheist yes, there is no point, you can put up recommendations and people MIGHT follow them, but putting up fines for not doing it does nothing but cost money. i didn't say people will be safe, i said people CAN be safe. if people can be safe doing it, then it should not be illegalized because its a blanket regulation.

its the same thing as "baseball bats can be used to kill people, therefore baseball bats are illegal" lol

smoking can't be safe in those public areas

  • @TheBarkingAtheist p.s. this is darris321 lol

  • @TheBarkingAtheist

I think the supreme court is right in defining the establishment clause as funding religiously affiliated schools, but the government isn't giving money to the schools, they're giving money to people who have the right to choose

the right to choose includes the stupid choice lol

  • i see a trend with texas frist bush wanted to "edumicate our children so they were learned real well" not perry is making it a reality

  • i see a trend here with Texas bush who we all know was the governor of Texas and he wanted to "edumicate our children so they "were learned well"

  • The only time Perry acts conservative is on the campaign trail. Why don't you ignorant dolts look at his record? If you did, you will see that is just another globalist bastard like every other candidate for president. Leftists like illegal-immigration...well, Dickhead Perry does, too.

  • We all hate him i live in Houston so i feeel your pain...We really need to do something about the people running the Government...their taking our civil rights slowly we need to do something the best thing we can do is spread information so keep up the good work...I wish i could more but im not very charismatic as yourself cheers

  • you are so unlucky to live in a state run by idiot rednecks who believe that that old fashioned religion plus of course that little bit of graft that oils the wheels of commerce is the way the truth and the life,AMEN

  • haven't you heard Barking? that they should cut back on education because education = indoctrination? teh evil gaeyz are trying to deestoy the Merrikan familiy, come one, we must deestroy teh pro gaey anti-christain public schools by teaking durr funding.

  • F1 and u.s. are not compatible.

  • Now, he might run for president.... *shiver*

  • £4 Billion dollars? That must be the gretest highway ever!

  • @northernvoxmedia It's not right now; I drive on it almost everyday. If they really are going to lay off more teachers than all conservatives have brain cells combined, then that highway better have something special about it. Maybe with $4.4 billion they could make it the next Autobahn with no speed limits, or hell, I don't know. All I know is that this is fucking bullshit!

  • Wow, that is stupid on a truely epic level. Sorry about that, mate, good luck.

  • Sounds like RIck should legally change his name to Dick.

  • F1 is more a europe thing...

Yeah why would he fund education? If the kids are smart republicans are doomed to die out.

  • Texas has a large technology industry, you would think they would want educated workers. I guess the culture wars are mire important.

  • Dude, I love what you are doing! so inspiring! I also like to see another Phantom nerd!!! :)

  • I need that t shirt from RD.net :)

  • he won't. stop asking and vote for somebody else.

  • Hey I live in the DFW area.

Also I like your planet of the apes poster in the background. That was a great movie.

  • @sirisnin Planet of the Apes? You mean that red one? It's Che Guevara. Lol

  • @TheBarkingAtheist Funny thing about Che Guevara is that he spent his entire life fighting the menacing capitalists, only to end up on T-shirts sold by (guess who?) capitalists! :P

  • @TheBarkingAtheist Che Guevara of the Apes?

  • @TheBarkingAtheist

Yea it just reminded me of an American Dad episode where Stand sees the same poster of Che Guevara and saids Planet of the Apes was a great movie.

  • @sirisnin .... Paradox that you state this and he's talking about education cuts...

  • its politics, what did you expact?

  • It's funny, when you paused for silence I could hear crickets outside my window. made me lol

  • @06mustangCE Hahahaha.

  • The operative working principle of the Repuglithugs is the dismantling of the Public Educational System, this is based on 2 reasons, firstly, they believe that the bible clearly states that children should learn at home what they need to learn, secondly, the Repuglithugs have backing them in this endeavour, foundations and corporations and people like the Waltons of Wal-Mart, the Koch Brothers and the corporate oligarchs who don't want their hard earned tax dollars going to educate people

  • who will never hold jobs in their corporations. We the people, had better be aware that the oligarchs are winning the war against the 'liberal agenda.' The problem with this is that soon enough we will not have any educated people, we will not have any benefits from the government except the privilege of dying sooner than later. Get rid of the surplus population is their motto. But who will clean their houses, watch their children, drive their cars, fix their highways, clean their streets?

  • Aside from all of Perry's profuse waste of money, he should stop making public decrees to pray for rain! The guy is a complete nut job.

    Come back to Denver! :P

  • There's no point having Formula1 in America, there are too many corners that go in different directions, no-one dies all that often and the cars are far too technical for the average hick to understand. They need to alter F1 in America so all the cars are just Dodge Rams with V12 engines in them. THEN Americans would watch it more.

  • Where'd you get that shirt?

  • @secretk33per Richard Dawkins Foundation website.

  • @TheKyleBarrack14 Exactly!

  • Born and raised in Dallas here too man... and so often I'm ashamed to claim that heritage. Hey I re-blonded in your honour, bring back the bleach!!

  • Is there any where in America where the Public Education system isn't being taken apart?

  • Very informative video =)

  • We are Texas. You will be assimilated. We will add your biological and technological distinctiveness to our own. Your culture will adapt to service us. Resistance is futile...

  • Greetings from a fellow Texan, and all I have to say is...what you said. Well, I do have a few other beefs with Governor Goodhair, but maybe it's best I don't get started...

  • You have to be a total shithead to dislike this.

  • Your moral indignation seems more trite and unintentionally amusing than it used to when I first came across this act.

  • I just wish that asshole would hear this, but it isn't going to do any good. So sorry about you living in Texas, you seemed too intelligent to be a Texan! Peace

  • @MegaMoochie1 I'm not from Texas. I moved here when I was like two.

  • @TheBarkingAtheist Oh, man, I am SO sorry! The sad part is you are in the liberal Mecca of the state.

  • If I were you, I'd find a way to legally change his name to Prick Perry without him knowing.

  • I've lost all faith in politicians...

  • @CJCA915 I never had faith in politicians.

  • Educated thinking people don't fall for Perry's bullshit, so of course he wants to ruin education

  • Marry me~

  • @LadyTigerLily Okay.
