Great performance. I remember watching this on ITV, weather it was live at the time of broadcast ( somebody correct me ) it was a great performance of this song. Shame it wasnt performed by freddie before he passed!!! :(
Of course Freddy is unique. But I don't think I have ever heard anyone pull off one of his parts as well as Daltry. I would love to see May and Taylor do more with him, because he can really own it.
To be honest, Daltrey did his mission really really well, he sang this song pretty awesome, thank you for that, and obviously, Tony, Brian and Roger did great job !
i really appreciate this concert, beacuse they are remember to Freddie in such a good way. I mean of course everyone is sad and he is a big loss to the world but i glad they can remember him by a huge and fantastic concert, and not being sad about Freddie's death, but by celebrating the time he lived! One of the best concerts with real legends performing for a legend. 5/5
Roger was born to sing this song. I mean, after Freddie of course. This was probably my favorite of any track in the Queen part of the Freddie tribute concert.
Roger Daltrey had a horrible voice that night, this is the oficial edited struff. go find the live tv footage and you´ll see how bad Daltrey was. maybe he just has had a cold...
This was the first live show I watched on video when I was like 7 lol and god damn didn't it introduce loads of other great artists to me! Guns N Roses, Metallica, Tony Iommi, Roger Daltrey, Extreme, Joe Elliott, Elton John etc!! The only people I really knew about before watching all of this at that age was Queen and Michael Jackson lol
This is the anthem for those few spirits out there who aren't satisfied with the extraordinary. You know you were huge when someone like Roger Daltrey pays tribute to you after your passing.
ATTENTION all Queen fans,On September 5th, Freddie's birthday, we will be watching Bohemian Rhapsody repeatedly all day to boost its view count up to at the least 700,000,000 views. You don’t even have to listen to it. You can just keep playing the video back to back all the way through without sound. We’re doing this to compete with Justin Bieber's garbage music videos & to make Queen be heard across Youtube. Copy& Paste this across all Queen videos. Spread the word!
i find the sound mix on this rather dull, i cant hear the guitar pretty much at all except for the solo part, which makes the pace of the song a bit tired.
So i'm watching this playlist with the freddie mercury tribute concert, and every single performance makes me drop a little tear, seriously! There is no doubt that Freddie was and will forever be the most talented singer and stage performer in our world!
He has a voice that is about as close as to Freddie Mercury you can get. He sounds pretty much the same. It's hard to replace a singer when they die or when they leave a band.
Roger is 48 here, he certainly doesn't look it!! His voice wasn't the best though...I guess 28 years of trying to be heard over the Who would take a toll on anyone's voice.
"There Can Be Only One", but the way Mr. Daltrey BELTS this one out, he's definitely a close second. It would have been great if Roger had gone on tour w/ Queen as Paul had done. Loved this vid, thanks for posting!
Comparing to my old VHS of the original broadcast, Daltrey's vocals have definitely been retouched a bit. Nevertheless, a great performance for a great song!
Freddie would have really broken out, to sing this song on stage...
Life doesn't let him the time for this (and for a lot of things)...
