  • nice,i want to get sound fitted to my 37s.ive also subbed.

  • Great train! DCC with sound is the way to go...

  • I love your attention to detail on your layout. I'ts a lot better than most of the layouts that I have seen on you tube, also brilliant camera work. top vid!

  • i have that train

  • Hornby? DCC rox! Thanx fur sharin'!

  • Hi where did yoou get the flashing crossing lights from ?

  • great sound and it runs really smoothly and well driven :P

  • hi, another question, what do you use for your underlay?, it looks fantastic.

    thanks

  • hi, would it be possible for you to do a video of your whole layout as it loooks great and i would really like to see more of it, thanks

  • No I am using the Backmann DCC Controler quite simply to use once you have gone through it a couple of times.

  • Yes I would recommend sound... How ever it can be alittle tricky operating the loco depending on what controler you have for DCC. I would rate it at 8/10 the sounds are very good, and you have the option of running the loco without sound of course which I often do if i am working on the layout and just want to turn the wheels on the track.

  • I take it your using Hornby Select? I use the same and want this very loco with Sound, how easy is it to operate sound using Select? Cheers

  • just out of curiosity would you recommend sound to other modellers and if so what would you rate it out of ten

  • No the cab doors do not open im affraid.

  • Thank you... I do try.lol

  • do the cab doors open on these?

    Good but expensive.

U can tell its a sound sample by the sort of tinny hiss though.

  • one of the best class 37 videos on u tube

  • that walling/tunneling at the front of the station, how is t made, really effective?

  • sorry to bother you again, but what dcc system do you use, is it any good?

  • I currntly use all Bachmann DCC equipent The EZ Controller and the loco is also Bachmann.. I like this this and find it all works very well. I have not tried any of the Hornby equipment so I am unable to tell you what that is like.

  • how do you control your points, i have the e-z system as well

  • thankyou, so are you gonna make a website as it looks like a good layout

  • I have no plans to have a website for the layout at the momment, but thanks for your interest.

  • where can i get one of these flashe runits from?

  • Hunter Systems 01323 503336 you can give them a call, but I think they have a website.

  • would you consider making a website as your layout looks good. I meant the level crossign lights btw

  • nice train, do you have a website for your model rialway, and how did you do the lights?

  • Thank you for your comments about the loco. At the moment I do not have a website for my layout. With the lights on the loco, that comes complete with working lights forwards and revers. The lights on the crossing are a bit more involved, they are grain of wheat bulbs in red then theses are wired to a flasher unit which is placed under the board.

  • nice train, do you have a website for your model rialway, and how did you do the lights?

  • pd notice you havent got the cab lights on in the tunnel is that not prototypical?? loco arrived yesterday had a quick go with it.... bloody fantastic....trouble is my sons birthdat is not until the middle of april.............

  • Thanks you for your kind comments. Yes I am enjoying DCC, waiting for a DMU with DCC sound to appear.

  • Glad you have the loco, sure you are going, or having fun. but at least you will know how it all operates by the time your son has a go......

  • ive ordered this exact loco for my sons birthday next month, it looks and sounds like we, sorry he, is going to have some fun with it....cant wait. nice layout youve got there pd...

  • The loco was purchased complete, ready to run from Bachmann, so in answer to your questions I am unable to tell you re- the chips from SWD. Perhaps contacting SWD direct may give you your answer concerning the starter motor.

  • Great! Sounds like the SWD mk4 chip. My only gripe is the 37/0 startup. Do SWD do a version with the 37/4 starter motor?

  • very nice loco and layout

  • Yes take it out of the box, place it on the track as you say. But it does take sometime to get used to using the controls for the various functions.. ie, horn switch on, then you have to switch it off again before you can sound the horn again etc. But yes i love it.

  • Those things sure do sound like the old Alcos of the 40s-50s era!

  • looks a nice layout, is it as simple as taking the loco out the box and placing it on the tracks select the function you require and it works. I have a dcc layout using the hornby system.
