Ive had this happen to me whilst on an investigation (not a taps event) - with my own torch. (i dont have the video of it to show you unfortunately!) There is no point faking evidence as such activity does happen. I am not saying they are spirits of the dead, it could be our minds or unconscious that manifest such events. Who knows! But that is why i do what i do! :)

Its a trick used with the twist back flashlights with the push button back. place the flashlight in a cold place, Then place it in a warmer place, Turn it on and slowly twist the back til the light just goes off and wait. It has to do with metal expansion. It could do the same thing with cold batteries.

At least 80% of the time when they see shadows, we don't get to see shit. I recently found a show called Ghost Lab. They actually have enough common sense to have small cameras attached to their head. Shockingly, they get more evidence this way! Haha. Anyway, they've spent a lot of money on equipment, seem very passionate about it

I personally can say that TAPS does not fake the flashlight trick. I attended an event and watched 7 flashlights go on/off one of them being mine. Better luck next time. Peace out brother

Since ghosts do not exist, either they are tricksters or they are liars, either way no supernatural entity produced the movement. The dead do not stick around and perform parlor tricks to amuse us or themselves. Death is the final step, the end of the road, the last curtain call, the big sleep, pushing daisies and whatever representation you can come up with. Hope it helped.

One big problem with this explanation is that if you watch this method on the show way more often then not the light doesnt just come on and stay on perfectly. it flickers and dims before going out. it also doesnt usual come on that smoothly. it almost always kind of dims or flickers out. and it seems like the battery is kind of low when it comes on. (sometimes when it comes on its not just instant clean full power.) its a possible explanation yes, but it doesnt seem like the real one.

I have attempted this with my own flashlight, by unscrewing the back so the button at the back can be easily manipulated. It does not work at all!! In my opinion I have debunked this to my satisfaction.

Well not really. The method I used you can make it go on and off at will. You can even have it come on at half brightness then full brightness then 1/4 brightness then off or whatever combination you wish. I can make these adjustments 30 times a second so the combinations are endless.

Well, I use this method and I'm not on a show. Nor do I post my videos here on you tube. It actually works. I dont manipulate the flashlight before using it, but there will always be doubters and skeptics. I take pride (no pun intended) in my work as an investigator. To make up evidence would hurt the integrity of all paranormal investigators. I can't speak for a TV show, but I know I'm telling the truth. If I get nothing, I say I get nothing.

While filming our investigations, we do not only concentrate on the one piece of equipment. We will have flashlights, EMF detectors,static and handheld cameras, digital recorders, ghost box, etc. We don't take only one piece of equipments "word" for it. There's no way to prove or disprove yet. It's cumulative evidence. And when in doubt throw it out!

Well Pilgrim Films could use my method. Its not hard to do with todays editing software. However your method really is the most likely. Its called J splicing I believe. Its done all the time in editing when you change the picture while keeping the audio. I really don't know why I didn't think of it sooner. LOL Thanks for posting it.

I believe that along with some clever editing and the power of psycological suggestion the TAPS team is able to make a simple malfuntion of the flashlight appear to be a manifestation of paranormal activity. You know I think your absolutely correct. Seems how we never see them speaking with the flash light turning on and off it would be super simple to edit the footage to make it look like they where talking at the same time. So by setting the flash light up as you have all they need to do is time the footage with the voice overlay to make it seem like it all happened at the same time.

To answer you question. Yes! The only time it would add to the difficulty is if I were to pass in front of the flashlight while it was turned on. In that case I would have to add another layer of video with an Alpha layer which would only show my body. Place it over the other two layers and use it to block out the flashlight.

I agree I have had many experiences myself. I watch Ghost Hunters and maybe they are guilty of faking some of the stuff . I have come face to face with several ghosts and been totally sober and of sound mind. There was no way there was anyone else there but me and a fellow investigator because the whole building was locked up and there was only one person who had the key and has been confirmed to be sleeping at home. So I have had too many experiences to say no ghosts dont exist.

Sure it did that some times while other times it just turned on. The process is the exact same only instead of makeing the top layer go from 100% transparent to 100% visible they went from transparent to say 50% visible to 35% visible to 100% visible something to that effect. Your flashlight shone on full blast. Notice that Jason's innova torch started gradually (hesitantly) from a sort of flickering weak light to a full blast. If it was rigged, it wouldn't have flickered from a low light at all, and just go full blast from the start.

The brightness doesn't mean anything. When working with layers you have a transparency setting. So long as the flashlight is on both layers it will look solid. But when you fade the "Light On" layer then that light will dim as you wish.

It's a good theory, but most of the time the camera is moving - which I often find convenient as it rarely shows what the team is reacting to... Even if they saw something happen there and everyone focuses on that spot waiting for it to happen again - the camera still pans around.

Lets also point out that all the time the flashlight is on a solid colored surface and the light does not shine on anything else but the floor. This makes such a stunt twice as easy as what I have created in my video response to this one.

There are shots in ghost hunters where there are people in the shot with the flashlight. the overlaying will not work in this case, because you would see a morph of their faces and a change in the grain of the inferred footage.

Watch the video again. You might want to take notice that I'm in the video. Now my face is not in the video but then that would not matter unless it moved to the area that was covered by the overlay. But then anything that moved into that area would be distorted. As for the grain it would only be effected if the resolution differed between the two layers. Besides Night-vision is so grainy to begin with you would never be able to argue it anyway.

good video...but taps also over looks the fact that if some "ghost" were to touch the back of the flashlight, it would most likely move the entire flashlight...it's rather evident that you have to put some messure of force to the back of the light to get it to turn on...one would than have to assume that someone is holding the flashlight at the same time. anyway, good video...these guys should be exposed for the fakes that they are.

I understand what your saying but I played with a little LED flashlight and when you loosen up the back it takes very little force to make the light turn on. Less then what it would take to move the flashlight. But if a Ghost can pull a lamp or move a picture frame then it can move the flashlight. So the question left is how does a ghost know not to over due it? So you're still makeing a good point.

Your right, it's possible..but at the same time it has to be just the exact amount of pressure to actually turn the bulb on but not move the entire flashlight. Again, it's possible, but I've seen them use this flashlight approach many times...with the same results. it just seems that if there were real "ghosts" touching it, one would eventually move the entire flashlight. It's cool if you do it once, but the more they do it, the more fake it seems.

I think you are referring to the other light evidence where we actually never see the light turn on and off. The camera pans to the light and it is on, then away. Then if you notice the it does not pan to the flash light when off but rather is cut to show it being off. This is movie magic where they splice the footage together to make it appear as if it is turning on and off . That is different then what i did which is in reference to the DVR camera that TAPS uses.

How else can you determine the value of evidence if you don't try to disprove it? Like I said in the video the recreation does not disprove TAPS evidence but rather shows that it could have been created and what it takes to do so. But there is no smoking gun to show proof that taps did this. at least not that i can see. My opinion is based on other evidence that they have faked.

The thing is.... All the evidence TAPS has ever come up with could've been faked, 'EASILY'..... We just trusted TAPS to be legit,,,,and in the end we all got screwed..... fear turtle..i know this is not a ghost question but what program are you using for that? i have adobe premiere pro 2. i dont play around on it much at all. i was just wondering if i could do it with that?

I use Liquid Edition from Pinnacle Software. Avid bought them out on it though a few years ago. I'm thinking you should be able to do it with Adobe Premiere though. But I'm not familiar with it.

My comment was a response to you saying "Taps do not fake theyre stuff." I never said that they did or didn't. I just wanted to know how you knew that. I don't think that every paranormal show is fake either. However, during and after the taps live show, things were getting pretty fishy.
