Not to take anything away from Tyson but Tyson-Ali would be a mismatch. Styles make a fight and Tyson was made for Ali. Ali probably had the best chin in heavyweight history, was hard to hit in his prime, his footwork uncanny, his reach advantadge, great stanima, skill and ring smarts would render Tyson helpless. Especialy if you consider Tyson ran out of steam after a few rounds and got frustrated. Ali would dance the first rounds, taunt Tyson and in the later rounds Tyson would fall.

Frazier putt relentless pressure for 15 rounds while Tyson could only keep that up for a few rounds and then slowed down. It's the thoughness and stanima of Frazier that gave Ali a rough time, not his power. Tyson was stronger but that wouldn't help him, Ali, he took the best punches from the most powerfull punchers in boxing.

Tyson had 1 punch power in each hand,Frazier only had his left hook. But I don't think Tyson's left was harder then Fraziers. And Frazier keept his power for 15 rounds, he clipped Ali (rusty after the exile) in the 15th round, it was from the fatigue Ali went down and still he got up fast. Changing the subject already i see. Well Norton gave Ali a tough time in all 3 fights for a combination of reasons. First off; like Frazier, Norton was lucky to have met Ali after the 3 and a half year layoff when Ali was past his peak. Also Norton fought well vs boxers like Ali and Holmes. He wilted vs sluggers like Foreman and Shaevers. Its' simply a style thing. Gene Fullmer beat Ray Robinson twice. Was he better? Ali in the 1970's not as great as he was from 1965-67. Ok frisbyrd. there is so much here i can refute easily. first of all the 2nd Frazier fight should have ended in the 2nd round when the ref thought he heard the bell, and there was still 40 sec left and Ali had Frazier staggering all over the ring. Ali won at least 8 of the 12 rounds. In Manila all three scorecards had Ali way ahead going into rd 15. Joe was destroyerd in t 13th and 14th rounds. Also his eye prob he had since 1964 he said. nice try though. And i thought Ali won 9 rounds in 1st f.
You're obviously a big Ali fan, and see things from that prespective, but there are a couple of factual errors. Firstly, in Frazier 2, he wasn't staggering all over the ring, he went backwards, and c'mon Ali knocking him out - wouldn't happen, and the ref wouldn;t have stopped it.
Even Ali says he lost the first fight, try watching it without the commentary. It's not the amatuers, quality of punches and power matter, not just volume.
As for the 60's Ali - worst comp. until Larry Holmes.

Not to take anything away from Tyson but Tyson-Ali would be a mismatch. Styles make a fight and Tyson was made for Ali. Ali probably had the best chin in heavyweight history, was hard to hit in his prime, his footwork uncanny, his reach advantadge, great stanima, skill and ring smarts would render Tyson helpless. Especialy if you consider Tyson ran out of steam after a few rounds and got frustrated. Ali would dance the first rounds, taunt Tyson and in the later rounds Tyson would fall.

Ali didn't strugle with small fighters. Certainly not prime Ali, before his exile.
He had problems with Frazier who had a simular style. There was 1 huge difference. Frazier putt relentless pressure for 15 rounds while Tyson could only keep that up for a few rounds and then slowed down. It's the thoughness and stanima of Frazier that gave Ali a rough time, not his power. Tyson was stronger but that wouldn't help him, Ali, he took the best punches from the most powerfull punchers in boxing.

Tyson had 1 punch power in each hand,Frazier only had his left hook. But I don't think Tyson's left was harder then Fraziers. And Frazier keept his power for 15 rounds, he clipped Ali (rusty after the exile) in the 15th round, it was from the fatigue Ali went down and still he got up fast. Tyson would have to hit a lot harder in the first rounds with a fresh Ali.
I don't believe Tyson had more power then Shavers, who caught Ali, way over the hill with many shots, it didn't stop him.

Changing the subject already i see. Well Norton gave Ali a tough time in all 3 fights for a combination of reasons. First off; like Frazier, Norton was lucky to have met Ali after the 3 and a half year layoff when Ali was past his peak. Also Norton fought well vs boxers like Ali and Holmes. He wilted vs sluggers like Foreman and Shaevers. Its' simply a style thing. Gene Fullmer beat Ray Robinson twice. Was he better? Ali in the 1970's not as great as he was from 1965-67. Ali then was best ever.

Ok frisbyrd. there is so much here i can refute easily. first of all the 2nd Frazier fight should have ended in the 2nd round when the ref thought he heard the bell, and there was still 40 sec left and Ali had Frazier staggering all over the ring. Ali won at least 8 of the 12 rounds. In Manila all three scorecards had Ali way ahead going into rd 15. Joe was destroyerd in t 13th and 14th rounds. Also his eye prob he had since 1964 he said. nice try though. And i thought Ali won 9 rounds in 1st f.

You're obviously a big Ali fan, and see things from that prespective, but there are a couple of factual errors. Firstly, in Frazier 2, he wasn't staggering all over the ring, he went backwards, and c'mon Ali knocking him out - wouldn't happen, and the ref wouldn;t have stopped it.
Even Ali says he lost the first fight, try watching it without the commentary. It's not the amatuers, quality of punches and power matter, not just volume.
As for the 60's Ali - worst comp. until Larry Holmes.
