  • And Glenn Beck sees socialist everywhere...and this is not paranoid? Irony much?

  • Haha what are people so upset about? He didn't say one single thing that's controversial! You people are awful historians and intellectual children!

  • some whites are just going insane ! They've had all the leaders of the US for about 200 yrs being white now one black guy & they cant take it. I just wish they would man up & say "Yeah he's black & we dont like it "

  • This is what happens when you grow up reading the Daily Oklahoman.

  • I guess if a nut puts an awesome quote by a founding father on his shirt, then it is a bad quote. We are losing liberty slowly but surely, just as Jefferson predicted. The tendency of government is to grow and the bigger it gets, the less free we are.

  • Sen Coburn nailed it. The People are fed up with what the Feds do. They bankrupt the country with their political schemes and unconstitutional programs all the while promising more and more goodies if we just give them more power and control. To hell with that! Maddow and D'asshole should be ashamed to be on the other side of the issue.

  • Tell me, why didn't Coburn "nail it" when the people were fed up about a year ago? Talk about wanting more power, we're unlikely to see anything rivaling Bush and company in our lifetime. Like a vast majority of senators and reps, Coburn is a partisan hack beholden to the moneyed interests of the country.

  • Health care in the USA is not the crisis it is made out to be.If cost is the main concern, that can be dealt with without all the government intrusion. In fact it is because of government that costs are so high. Coburn, like so many other reasonable people, wants less government, but he is in the minority in DC. That is why he couldn't nail it.

  • 66605, Coburn is a Crazy Quack (sp)

  • Its true that Bush grabbed a lot of power while in office. But Obama has taken what Bush took, and is taking more. Its not like he gave any power back. Its not like he got rid of the patriot act. Its not like he didnt bail out any companies.

The move to grab health care is about as big of a power grab as you can get.

How are you mad at Bush grabbing power and not Obama?

I think we all value a smaller government (dem and repub) we just need get past all this partisan bull shit.

  • I agree to an extent. Obama should ask Congress to formally repeal the PAT ACT. However, I believe that the U.S. , like all western industrial nations, should provide health care to its citizens. Health insurance should just about never be contingent on employment.

  • I think something needs to be done about health care, and I think it could all be cheaper as well as transcend your employment. However, I dont think taxing the rich to pay for something for the poor is an appropriate action. It is also undesirable that the government controls a huge sector of our economy and public option will simply be a path to single payer. More power in the hands of the government is bad, and I think we should find ways to avoid it when we can.

  • Senator Coburn was given an opportunity to denounce the statements encouraging violence but he did not.

And it was almost like he approved of McVey's action - AND THAT WAS IN HIS HOME STATE!

And it's like he's encouraging the killing of Barack.

    Amazing - TRULY AMAZING!

  • @DillonX

hey matt wannabe, what i said to 0hzoneout,goes for you toooo.

  • Senator Coburn wants Americans to keep thier guns, this tells the truth that he stands for freedoms and not a dictatorship. He is smart enough to know why Americans must never give up thier guns, To bad many democrats do not get it.

  • Please. Being for the right to keep guns means nothing vis-a-vis a potential dictatorship. Let me know when he's in favor of the right to keep howitzers, then I'll be convinced.

  • The government isn't a faceless entity, it's composed of our fellow citizens.

  • Goverment, & the money system is all Bullshit!

Money has No Value only the the word of Value.

  • Wow, what a stretch to say Coburn wants some kind of violence. He's just pointing out why the American people have lost all faith in their elected representative. The spin doctors are doing there best to discredit him.

  • I took it that Sen Tom Coburn was calling for the assassination of our President!

  • where did you get that

  • Yep, Coburn hearts McVeigh! Sheesh! What a great twit. Yes, YOUR party has earned a loss of confidence. But, encouraging violence is sick.

  • @OhZoneFan

he didn't condone it,he's one of a handful of honest politicians that will tell the truth, unlike commenters on here, that includes kosherdill

  • Coburn hearts McVeigh

  • I just went to one of Senator Tom Coburn's town hall meetings regarding recent issues, and it was a peaceful gathering. It was mostly all Q & A. He is actually good friends with President Obama, and they highly respect each other's opinions. The Republican party would never, ever encourage violence. The media is using a few hillbillies and posters to incite panic. I have worked for two different TV stations, and they are all about money and ratings. All that to say, I wouldn't lose any sleep!

  • These are the same conservatives who said

that any dissent against George Bush post 9/11

was TREASON. Now Tom Coburn is and the Republicans

are promoting violence, only because the GOP

lost the election. The Republicans are an extremist

party, they are a hate group. They should be

    dealt with as such.

  • can the headline for this video be more misleading? coburn stated that the govt earned the distrust of the american people, and he is right. go tom go.

  • This tool is my Senator. I'm so proud of him that I can't watch the whole video. Eeeeeew!

  • yes, he as an Oklahoma senator, has to represent the 66 percent that voted for

McCain, are you in the wrong state? dont you feel odd being in Oklahoma? wouldnt you feel more at home in san diago?

  • Oh, I'm definitely in the wrong state. I'm completely outnumbered. I'd like to vote just once and have it actually count. that would be a great feeling.

  • Fortunately, later Rachel Maddow called Coburn on this, saying there's nothing the govt. is doing to warrant this sort of radical attack. Coburn really had no reply.
