this one, derren talked to the police at the end.

the other one (the older clip), the guy hung up the phone and it happened in the same minute when derren was actually supposed to talk the police.

...I watched 2 clips carefully few times! ITS FINE! they refilmet moment where guy passes the phone 2 derren (this bit slightly different, look at the right top corner in both videos) because in 1 one guy was talking with real police and derren commanded just 2 hand up the phone, which istn right 4 police. probably police called back, said WTF?! U CANT DO THAT! and said 2 change the end at least..

For the benefit of non-UK viewers, here is the context of this clip.

This was not the trick. This was the initial 'meeting Derren' stage and was designed to unnerve the subject for the trick to follow. The tv version is heavily edited, with a voice-over by Derren, and with different footage shot from outside the taxi when it stops.

Derren claims that they didn't reckon on the guy calling the police. Seems unlikely but that's what he says.

The trick itself was very disturbing....

Taken at face value, this is a really uninspired stunt. Must be more to it, a context that gives it some meaning.

Compare this with 'Zombie' - despite his terror, the subject knew that zombies aren't real. So there was conflict between his rational mind and his emotional response. Where is the conflict here?? There is none - it happens and this guy thought it was happening to him.

Harold, why tease us with a shorter version? Did that guy really ruin the Trick or are we being humbugged?
