  • "Some say your nose, some say your toes, I think it's your mind, your mind. I think it's your mind."

How is such a simple line able to carry so much emotional weight. Every time I hear it all of my thoughts stop; I think this song makes the ugliness blink out for a moment. Beautiful

  • Bought this lp back in High school, thought it was fantastic...people that do not understand parody, just do not get it!

  • totally love this original mix.. no disrespect to Frank for the later redub bass n drums part.. this ver is awesome..

  • ALL YOUR CHILDREN ARE POOR UNFORTUNATED VICTIMS OF SYSTEM BEYOND THEIR CONTROL

  • I was never the same after listening to this album.

  • my dick.

  • Zappa blew them all away except for hendrix(who was in a differant galaxy).

  • My right testicle

  • Serious addicted to this song.

  • 0:30 We've reached a mile marker on the highway of Conceptual Continuity...

  • There was alot of co Inspireing at this time

  • I wrote a song like this, now fuck! Zappa did it first. No fun for me

  • actually frank didn't hate the beatles and they are good artists. he was just mad that sgt pepper was called the first concept album when he had one before them.

  • @grevejp44 Yeah and Beatles were parodying concept albums by the long name Sgt Pepper (Capt Beefheart) Lonely Hearts Club band (Mothers of Invention). Zappa just answer them back with the name and album cover.

  • @J5MARLON actaully for what it sounded like when paul talked about it in the anthology documentary it wasn't a parody it was supposed to be a new beatles so he gave them a new name which at the time were really long. i don't know if he was actually influenced by zappa as far as the name but it could be possible.

  • @J5MARLON haha total bullshit

  • @CornyPoopDude Although much has been said about "Sgt. Pepper" being the first concept album, the Beatles were inspired by Frank Zappa's "Freak Out"; a concept album released a year before.

At "Sgt. Pepper's" release, Paul McCartney said, "This is going to be our 'Freak Out.'"

  • @J5MARLON that may be true but the name part just seems like a real stretch

  • @J5MARLON if you knew what you were talking about, the thing that inspired The Beatles to put out Sgt Peppers was Pet Sounds by the Beach Boys and Lennon and McCartney were blown away by Brian Wilson's music. And I'm a massive Beatles fan but get it right.

  • @davidbelkevitz1311 Not true. Yes, they loved Pet Sounds, but they cited Freak Out as one of their major influences. You're the one that should get it right.

  • @violatress Ok, I will give you that one :-) I forgot McCartney had mentioned something about the Freak Out album. And to J5Marlon, I'm aware that they had many influences but we were talking about the concept of Sgt Peppers and they said that after hearing Pet Sounds they had to step it up a notch.

  • @J5MARLON duh they were inspired by a lot of other things besides Brian Wilson.

  • I taught my little kids this song they loved it and you had to point to ur nose etc I hope it taught them something moralistic

  • a plague upon your ignorance that keeps the young from the truth they deserve x

  • This whole album is really good

  • Four people have clean minds

  • no, this is such a beautiful song! frank wasnt simply trashing the hippie movement... :p

look: it's about someone telling its loved one that he/she is BEAUTIFUL despite her own messed up perception of beauty, that she got from society!

  • I'd like to dedicate this song to many people:...Forget it...I would spend all my life here!

  • Frank Zappa is seriously one of the most intelligent, ridiculous musicians to ever live. I've rarely heard music that has so much controlled chaos as Zappa's.

  • @tetrisclock the locust. that's controlled chaos.

  • @Jmbbit138 The locust is real messy!

  • ALL OF YOUR CHILDREN ARE POOR UNFORTUNATE VITCTIMS OF SYSTEMS BEYOND THEIR CONTROL

  • My actual body,it basically a sack of hair.

  • I had this album in the 70's, could kick myself for ever getting rid of it! To date it's my fav Zappa album....Cindy/Columbus Ohio

  • This album is genius. Great stuff from the mastermind Zappa himself.

  • @Recedite I WANT THIS SONG TO BE ABOUT 30 MINUTES LONGER!

  • @whitedwarf13 you can always listen to it 30 times in a row

  • @whitedwarf13 Frank wasn't like that. Such would had comercial potential. Frank had a label on the cover of his records saying: No comercial potencial. George Duke told in a documentary (which I no longer can find on YT) that Frank once did make up/change parts an original composition. George responded: Frank, it's a beautiful piece of music! You can't do that!

  • Apreciating you for puting this video in the 'education' category

  • I take it Gail was pregnant with Dweezil at the time cause she has a swolen stomach on the album cover

  • @Django5198 Love Dweezil. And Miss Frank

  • Hey look it's Frank Zappa's broken hearts are for assholes club best band you've never heard in your life

  • Great song, but it's responsible for a broken nose.

I thought it'd be funny to try this line on my ex-girlfriend way back in middle school.

She didn't appreciate it very much.

  • @jangohump I think it's your miii-iiind, I think it's your mind. Happy #Zappadan

  • Parody of Beach Boys.

  • @the13er Parody of everyone, who made music at that time :D

  • Ugliest part of MY body?

    Penis.

  • @jangohump listen to captain beefheart then, they grew up together and are basically musical and ideological rivals

  • Genial este disco...

  • @jangohump He was not he was an amazing musician and he made some very good points about things

  • @jangohump JUST LIKE YOU

  • that's a wonderful do-wop experiment !

  • ZAPPA E-S----L-A----V-E-R-G-A

  • So much funnier than (Listen to The) Flower People from Spinal Tap.

  • OMG is that Lee Harvey Oswald in the top right corner?

  • I think it's your complacenceeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

  • Ive had this song stuck in my head all day.

  • we were asked to bring in music for English appreciation (in 1968 )

I brought in this album, my english teacher allowed it to play about 30 second's before she told me to remove it from the turntable and take it home

frank was in my books ( at that time ) far beyond where mainstream music was

dam I miss his music and wit

  • @KevinHeaven9 is not an imitation, is a parody FLOWER POWER SUCKS!

  • @vinzer72frie Idiot.

  • I think you suck. Your mother sucks too. I know that because she loves to suck me off and then cry for hours about how she should've aborted you.

  • @vinzer72frie Flower power doesn't suck - it's the pretentious naive and stupid creeps that ruin it. That's part of the joke with Zappa's stuff. To say 'HURR THIS OR THAT SUCKS' kind of misses the point of the satire. Also the flower power people were the ones buying the Zappa & the Mothers albums so if they can take a joke they can't be all bad.

  • @HisEmptyHouse Or they just didn't understand the joke

  • @vinzer72frie

yeah! and he ws right!!!!! FZ!!!!

  • @KevinHeaven9 and no ones gives a shit

  • @Xenogalaxy79 wasnt saying that in a bad way... i love this album..

  • @KevinHeaven9 I hardly see why he would imitate The Beatles when he INFLUENCED them.

  • @KevinHeaven9 You Trying to imitate an ignorant Beatles fan

  • @KevinHeaven9 lmao

  • the rectum has never been that appealing either

  • Try it, you'll like it...

  • this is my most favorite

  • ohy paliakate alli te hablan

  • I love this song...A PLAGUE UPON YOUR IGNORANCE & THE GRAY

    DESPAIR OF YOUR UGLY LIFE...

  • OH! OH! I love this one : )

  • Get the hell out of my mind, James Brown!

  • im definently getting this album and freak out

  • I'm viewer 3333! YEAH. Great song, best mothers album. Even though it took some time for me to like it.

  • I think it's your mind
