@TheAxis456 He usually uses a '67 Super Reverb with Tone Tubby speakers but nowadays he's using a Fuchs ODS with Tone Tubby Speakers. I also know that he loves the Hughes and Kettner Tube Factor pedal. I have talked with Jimmy extensively about gear and he told me that he only uses the Tube Factor with the green setting, said the red setting is too much gain. I 've used the Tue Factor and they're cool but have to use a dedicated power supply, pedal power won't work with them.

Terrible tone. Too much click from compession, too thin, too much treble. Tremolo work was slightly out of tune. Jazz dudes always resort to 16th notes to impress when their short on ideas and feel. Not in Jeff Becks class when it comes to phrasing, feel, dynamics ect. but not a bad effort. A good chinken pickers tone though.
@wwwhatwhat WWWTF? you think you can gauge the tone he's using in this concert by what the handheld POS recorder got --- then played through your computer speakers? Nice generalisation about "jazz dudes" too.
BTW, do you think you're auditioning for a music critic job?
He didn't replace the crap strat single coils for those humbuckers because he likes routing out holes in his guitars!
So Jimmy is influenced by Beck eh? I had a feeling when I saw Panic play in Memphis... Jimmy's touch here isn't anything like Jeff's, but he does a nice job. Love his tone.
Personally I think Jimmy puts tighter jamming into the same space than Beck. But Beck is one of Jimmy's favorite artists you have to remember! I prefer Jimmy's over Becks'... he's turning a whole new audience onto it. I think he may have outdone Zappa on Zoot Allures as well! You'd have to see it to believe it!
Herring crushes Beck, with all due respect. The man ha sphrasing that is out of this world and rarely ever makes a mistake. One of the best of all time. Panic is 100 times better with him than with any other guitarist.
In a perfect would Houser would still be playing for Panic. That being said, they could not have for a more suitable nor suited replacement. Jimmy, you are the man!

He played this song here Raleigh, NC and it was amazing. Different than Beck yes, but different is good.
