Both System Shock game are masterpieces. The only games of the same genre that are on the same level are Deus Ex and S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl.
@4gn3 I believe it was worth the money, therefore I do not believe I was ripped off. I am glad I paid for this game, because it is one of the best I have played. You? You pirated it, you pretty much insulted the game like it's developers did when they made bioshock.
@naruto12345678912 i dont play pc games this is the first proper shooter i downloaded i wasnt sure if it was pirated also i think 60 is way overpriced considering this game is old as hell also bioshock is one of the best games ever made and my personal favourite
@4gn3 Well, It is very expensive because it is very hard to find, now. And bioshock was good as a shooter, and nothing else, it has everything from ss2, dumbed down, and degraded. except research, and plasmids(psi's), but that is about it.
How come the ending is one of the worst??! I must disagree. It was kinda short and creepy, leaving the player guessing about what could have happen next. And I think it's a perfect way to end a sci-fi game like System Shock 2... Why do people expect some long cut-scenes showing us how the main character made it safely home and lived happily ever after?
Good review; however i dissagree with you that this game had any flaws. If people don't have the wherewithal to get to grips with new games thats something for them to overcome. There's an increasing trend in games to lower the bar instead of raise it, catering to the growing number of zombies who lack basic cognitive abilities normally developed as children.
Bioshock infinite does look like they are trying to get bk to the quality of SS2, lets hope they get it right & also add co-op.
@Tactums Well it's not exactly flawed, but it isn't exactly perfect either. I mean, you can't forgive the ending they used and the utter impossibility of that one painting puzzle. But those things are only small annoyances throughout the whole fantastic experience.
I thought the end boss fight could have been more challanging and imaginative, yes. The end level itself i found to be pretty fun and intriguing as it was their interpretation of shodan's mind & memories.
The painting puzzle was great fun, took me awhile at the time because i didnt notice it at first - but i was 15 back then. Also was more of an achivement than to be told with a big arrow (like in bioshock) where to go lol :P
@Ilikelimpbizkit The painting puzzle took me about an hour to solve, and when I replayed the game (many times due to the versatility of the character development system), it took me no time at all, as I remembered to look through the paintings. The fact is, it's a difficult (ish) PC game, for true gamers. It's as far from a console game as defcon and Shogun - Total War. And it's a masterpiece.
Would it be possible for you to do a video review of Deus Ex? I'm a fan of the game, and I'd be interested to hear your input on it or any other of the "oldschool" game titles from the 90s' era.
@Macsrule123 I have Deus Ex, actually, and have tried to play through it countless times. It's definitely a great game with a wonderful storyline, but I just can't finish it. It's an act of treason, but that's the away it is. I also haven't done a review of Marathon yet. I've attempted to but never get around to it. I'll try revisiting Deux Ex.
@Haz0rdusProductions Bioshock is kinda system shock 3. It's a spiritual successor. While SS2 is a better game, bioshock is still a very good game, and you can tell that they had SS2 in mind when they designed it.
are you retarted?! bioshock was way better then system shock 2 was because of its awesome story awesome scary affects and great controle unlike ss2 with its hard to use inventory system endless enimys that are more powerful than you and very limited weapons...im not saying its a bad game im just saying it has some flaues and when they made bioshock they tryed hard to fix the problems they had in ss so they never rly did have it in mind but they rly should make ss3 with those changes
@Haz0rdusProductions Thanks for calling me a retard simply because we differ in opinion... that really makes it a lot harder for me to actually feel like I should care about your opinions.
The fact that the enemies in Bioshock were harder to deal with was what made them scary. Bioshock was not the least bit scary as it was, because of how incredibly non-threatening everything was. Limited weapons also added to the scares.
@AFnord I liked SS2 much better than Bioshock as well. Bioshock's setting was original and exciting, but there wasn't really a lot of variation, once you got used to the unique Rapture look. Combat was a bit underwhelming as well. Plasmids were fun, but weapons felt weak and almost useless. Also, there was too much combat. I was surprised if I didn't get attacked when I entered a new area. SS 2 handled encounters far more effectively. You heard them long before u saw them and it made you nervous
@Haz0rdusProductions lolwut. BioShock, in comparison to System Shock 2, is terrible. BioShock wasn't scary at all, and the story is essentially just System Shock 2, except underwater. The endless enemies are to make sure you never feel safe, making it more scary. And the limited weapons let you know that your time here will be bad. but in BioShock you can use every weapon from the get go. And the lack of inventory screen makes BioShock barely an RPG at all.
Music was a bit on the loud side compared to when you were talking. If you're using something like Vegas, you might consider lowering the volume of the music when your talking, but not a major complaint, I heard you well enough with the music.
The reason why it was so loud is that I had since both of my editing softwares only work with one audio track, when I record my voice I have to mix it all into one audio file. The setup I have for my mic is more setup for recording music, but I still use it because of my mic.
So the program I use (Pro Tools) doesn't really let you change the audio mid file so I had to live mix the music. With my setup, my voice always sounded to loud so I turn up the music too loud.
Wow. Thanks a lot. Yeah, I agree on the audio. I had to mix it through pro tools so I was unable to do much about the music volume. I'll try and do what I can next time I do one of these.
Bishock is a good game, but overrated.
Both System Shock game are masterpieces. The only games of the same genre that are on the same level are Deus Ex and S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl.

@oars44 Because stories are not defined by their endings. Let's say that somehow
Transformers 2 had a good ending. The story would still suck.
