It's almost 3 in the morning where I am and I am awake watching this amazing speech as well as other things by Ronald Reagan.
I have to be honest, after seeing this, I'm ready to fight for America and truth and everything I believe in down to the last breath.
This kind of thing gives me hope for my own future. I know he's gone now and nobody will fully replace him, but I can feel someone coming soon. And if they're half the man Ronald Reagan was, they'll make a good leader
@AREM16137 Yes! I had the privilege of living through the Reagan years and I think that's one reason the younger generation is as blind as it is: They've never experienced a real leader like Ronald Wilson Reagan. They read about him (mostly lies, unfortunately), but they were either yet to be born or still sitting around in their own crap when this great man led us from the brink thirty years ago. I can only hope that more of your generation view these film clip gems and have their eyes opened
@AREM16137 You've been brainwashed. A young person cannot be a conservative. Take some time to think about your views before much longer. At least you're a very small minority...the majority of young people are liberal, thankfully. Bodes well for the nation's future.
@AREM16137 "This kind of thing gives me hope for my own future. I know he's gone now and nobody will fully replace him, but I can feel someone coming soon. And if they're half the man Ronald Reagan was, they'll make a good leader"
As fortune would have it, there is someone running for president that is twice the man Reagan was. That man is Ron Paul.
Ron Paul is a great man in his own way, but he's not electable, and he has frightening pacifist tendancies. Perry is the only electable conservative; Romney is a RINO and I don't think Cain can get the votes, even though I like him.
And on a side note, Reagan was twice the man Ron Paul is... and I like Ron Paul a lot.
@AREM16137 Unfortunately, when he got into the Oval Office he became just another puppet dancing on the strings of the purse holder. He didn't do anything about farm subsidies. He didn't end the transfer of wealth in any way. And he continued supporting puppet dictators around the world, such as Saddam Hussein.
The truth is he talked a good game but when it came down to actually doing the right thing he was no different than all the other puppets he is complaining about here.
After seeing what Jimmy Carter did and was TRYING to do in 1980, after 4 years as President, I turned REPUBLICAN and voted for Reagan-Bush, and NEVER REGRETTED IT! I found out EXACTLY from President Reagan, what it REALLY MEANT to be a Republican!Even back THEN,(and BILL CLINTON DID NOT FIRST THINK O THIS) Carter wanted us to go to SOCIALIZED MEDICINE!! If Reagan HADN'T defeated Carter, TODAY, WE'D BE carrying either the flag of the hammer and the cycle OR the creasent moon! They are the SAME!
Thank you, Mr. Reagan, for having to courage to take a brave and clear moral stance against anti-Western powers and keeping the European Tradition alive.
In a time of rife moral relativism, you had the courage and vision to unequivocally defend Western values. Reagan, the best ally Europe could have had during the final days of the Soviet Empire. Thank you again, from a proud European.
@afwjam Yes he is!!! These are words we never hear anymore. It makes me proud to be an American to hear these words. I love the last part where he says "Should Moses have told the Israelites to remain slaves?" Many atheist liberals actually think that Christianity is pro-slavery. These kinds of people are insane. I think this speech is very inspiring to say the least.
STILL relevant today! This speech also shows us the outdated playbook that the Leftist's in America are STILL using. The difference is the pure unadulterated ignorance of the electorate. And out future is still bleak. EVERYONE should see the film The Agenda, Grinding Down America.
Re-animate Reagan! Stem-cell his brain and wake his a $ $ up!! PLEASE GOD WE NEED HIM - and he reads a teleprompter much better than this DUFUS BOZO we have as "President"/Dictator/Desopt/Tyrant/Angry Anti-American Commie Rat........... Oh, wait, Reagan WASN'T USING A TELEPROMPTER??? It wasn't even USED by politicians for a few more decades??? And Barack Obama is "a Great Orator"?????? HA! Please. I've heard some funny jokes before but, Obama? Smart? Intelligent? HAHA!
@JoeLoro As a great orator...Obama can work those vocal chords to produce a smooth sound...but there is no substance to what comes out of that orator's mouth. It's empty and hollow because they are all lies written by someone else who hopes that it is true. We all know that it isn't. Having a smooth sounding speech...even a bad salesperson can have that.
At this point in history, that should be one of the worst indictments against Obama.
After just one month of Barack Obama, it is abundantly clear that despite the hype, this administration is just more of the same. Here is a list of ten ways that the Obama Administration is shaping up to look a lot like the Bush Administration.
Oooh, he said "the Sovereign People"!! I guess he's one of them thar "right wing extremists" or "domestic terrorists" that the SPLC keeps warning us about!!
Seriously, Chris Matthews and probably even Bill O'Reilly would call Regan a "lunatic" if he gave this speech today. Me thinks it is THEY who are the lunatics.
Terrible to see how corrupt, bankrupt and unconstitutionally expansive the US government has become. A "progressive" decay from Regan to Clinton to Bush to Obama. Good Lord. Goldwater was entirely correct in his memoirs re: Ted Kennedy and the Anglo-American Establishment. I'd love to see the House Un-American Activities Committee (HUAC) return and investigate all those crooks behind every President since Wilson. America was never to be a Socialist Welfare State. We need a '64 Goldwater!
@bbthevidiot I truly believe that RWR could have possibly been the second son of God. For this reason, I refer to Him as the Eternal Saint President Ronald Reagan the First. Father, Son, Ronald Reagan
Ronald Reagan was a politician that was paying attention - no no today is - His wish was to pass a balanced budget ammendment to the constitution - Demand that your congressman and senator supports passing one - or vote them out of office
@MrAmerican76 Barack Obama AKA President Bush Jr! If one more person responds to one of my criticisms of Obama by saying "Oh yeah? Like Bush was any different," I'm going to stab myself in the eye with a ball-point pen. That's the point! If as a nation, we generally agree that Bush's presidency was bad for America, it is no defense of Obama to say that his policies are no different from Bush's.
Does anyone know of a book that was written specifically about the 1964 Republican Convention? It was the last great political convention in American politics, and I would love to read more about it.
I wonder if those people in the audience really knew what they were seeing. What they were a part of. That 16 years later, their President would be named Ronald Wilson Reagan.
Though I love his words, he could not, or in some cases did not, fulfill restoring the focus of individual freedom, and limit government spending (at least in his farewell address he apologized for the spending, recognizing it was one of his failings).
@zekal10 Obama's approval rating falls to all time low as he prepares to unveil plan to reduce America's $1.4 trillion deficit By Daily Mail Reporter- Tuesday, Apr 19 2011. To the song happy days are here again: Happy days are here again Obama's reign is about to end, then democracy can begin again happy days are here again.
^_^ bye bye libs 2012. they better hurry before the boat leaves because its going to get nasty here for them after that
@phoenixbornagain its not just the libs the republicans are just the other side of the same coin today the indiana supreme court ruled you cannot resist unlawfull police entry can you say police state
Mr President, with a tear in my eye, I would do anything to have you back with us. Your message is eternal and I only wish I was old enough to remember what it was like in the 80's with you as our president.
Thank you for all that you've given us. Today your words enlighten us, inspire us, and encourage us and I regret that I cannot even so much as shake your hand. I got to grow up in a world that saw the collapse of the Soviet Union and thanks to you I know what it means to be American.
Something to think about... RWR gave this speech 16 years prior to his presidency, this man had a vision, he had a definitive value system that guided him. Compare that to a modern "progressive" like Barack, what did he think 16 years prior to his election? What is his TRUE value system. The fact is that we may never really know since he has been bought and paid for by Geroge Soros. What RWR speeks of in this speech is still timely, although many of the figures are far worse today!
During the summer of 1981 the central focus of policy debate was on the Economic Recovery Tax Act (ERTA) of 1981, the Reagan tax cuts. The core of this proposal was a version of the Kemp-Roth bill providing a 25 percent across-the-board cut in personal marginal tax rates. By reducing marginal tax rates and improving economic incentives, ERTA would increase the flow of resources into production, boosting economic growth.
The problems that the Carter administration left for Reagan are very similar to the problems the Obama administration is leaving for whoever's next. Will God be so gracious and merciful to give us another Reagan? I hope and pray that He does, because we dang sure need one!
I love the fact that one of the BEST presidents we have ever had, not too mention one of the SMARTEST, most STRATEGIC....was an actor...and one HELL OF A MODEL AMERICAN
And people get in awe of Obama as they did of Clinton. Look at this delivery!!! Why is it so powerful? It is not just oratory skill (the only thing both Obama and Clinton have) it is the conviction and the fact that what he is saying is abtolutelly true.
Why didn't we listen to this GREAT man and GREAT President more? These speeches are so true today. Play them, Watch them, Learn from them, and Spread them to others. He knew the correct direction we should go. Do this, wakeup the American People. When we see him in Heaven, he will be standing next to the Founding Fathers of this Nation. Where is the next GREAT man like Ronald Reagan today to help Restore America? "Happy 100th Birthday Ron, my mentor ."
with all the talk of a revolution thats going on today over egypt etc. i can only think of ronald reagan . why ? because he revolutionalize america by giving it back to the people just as it is stated in the constitutions. the constitution says we are a government of the people for the people by the people and ronald proved it works i would like to say to all democrats and liberials out there if you want real revolution then you should follows ronald reagan he made U.S.A. great again !!!
God we need "Dutch" back! Goldwater was not beat by the democrats...the people (even then) saw what they COULD have in the form of Reagan as president, and he so overshadowed Goldwater that they voted against him.
@stfatpat The GOP (PARTY) turned into the DNC (a committee)??? And, if you're so convinced that Fox News shills for liberals, tell me... WHO is the "forward thinking" person that you think has been left out of the debate? And... since when does Fox News decide who takes part in the GOP debates?
God Bless this man. Now I not a religious man, but this is the reason why this man was put upon this mother Earth. Lawyerguy1..well said...so far ahead of his time, this man was.
Trade liberty for security? Bush signed the Patriot Act into law, and the people on the right were the ones saying "IF YA NOT DOIN ANY WRONGZ WHY DO YA CARE!!11!? WHY DO YOUZ HATE MERICA!!1?1?".
Obama wants us to believe that his motivation is to help the small number of Americans who do not have health insurance. Those who have no health insurance will receive better health care from almost any hospital than from having Obama Health Insurance. Our health care system is not perfect, but is still the best in the world. Obama wants to waste something like a trillion dollars to have a single provider.
A good president will begin taking out the trash--starting from the bottom up within the government. Reagan was not perfect, but he had high respect and dignity for the people. We were called upon by Mr. Reagan to lead this country as a people with the philosophy of Liberty and as a Republic. There was never a time when I felt truly free except while Reagan was president. The future of our nation now hangs in the balance. RIP Mr. President Reagan.
Someone (a lot of someones really) said that we need another Reagan. I say no. You see, Reagan lives in us...those patriots among us who cannot sit still while our nation of free people is transformed into a nation of serfs. RISE UP!
REGEAN understood that communism would be the downfall of the United States and he exposed it and help destroy it but now with our weak leader "s".....communism is slowly starting to destroy our great nation again....no one thinks it is there is no REAGAN to once again expose it....
ok let the libs get their way adn let the tax rate go up on jan 1st, then unemployment goes to 25% by the end of feb and a million people march on washington and aall the "D's" will have their heads on pikes lining the streets. No doubt about it
It's called the Bread index. It means that if you take what a loaf of bread cost in a certain year and what it costs now and that is the measurement of inflation
For those who claim that Reagan sounds like Ron Paul here--tell me, with a straight face, that Ron Paul would say the words of 23:23 on. Somehow...I suspect he'd condemn Reagan's words as "imperialism".

I'm 15 years old.
AREM16137 7 months ago 148
@AREM16137
God bless you my brother.
I was blessed to have lived during his Presidencies. The Single GREATEST President this country has seen, period.
oRedRaider 5 months ago 8
@AREM16137 Yes! I had the privilege of living through the Reagan years and I think that's one reason the younger generation is as blind as it is: They've never experienced a real leader like Ronald Wilson Reagan. They read about him (mostly lies, unfortunately), but they were either yet to be born or still sitting around in their own crap when this great man led us from the brink thirty years ago. I can only hope that more of your generation view these film clip gems and have their eyes opened
bworei 5 months ago
@AREM16137 You've been brainwashed. A young person cannot be a conservative. Take some time to think about your views before much longer. At least you're a very small minority...the majority of young people are liberal, thankfully. Bodes well for the nation's future.
Elrich89 5 months ago
@AREM16137 "This kind of thing gives me hope for my own future. I know he's gone now and nobody will fully replace him, but I can feel someone coming soon. And if they're half the man Ronald Reagan was, they'll make a good leader"
As fortune would have it, there is someone running for president that is twice the man Reagan was. That man is Ron Paul.
VoteLib3rty 3 months ago
Ron Paul is a great man in his own way, but he's not electable, and he has frightening pacifist tendancies. Perry is the only electable conservative; Romney is a RINO and I don't think Cain can get the votes, even though I like him.
And on a side note, Reagan was twice the man Ron Paul is... and I like Ron Paul a lot.
liquidsteelwatermill 3 months ago
@AREM16137 Reagan was an inspiring American. You are an inspiring American.
Adnama109 1 month ago

Thank you again, from a proud European.

afwjam 8 months ago 8

HAHA!
JoeLoro 8 months ago
@JoeLoro As a great orator...Obama can work those vocal chords to produce a smooth sound...but there is no substance to what comes out of that orator's mouth. It's empty and hollow because they are all lies written by someone else who hopes that it is true. We all know that it isn't. Having a smooth sounding speech...even a bad salesperson can have that.
Sikntyrd2011 7 months ago 6
At this point in history, that should be one of the worst indictments against Obama.
After just one month of Barack Obama, it is abundantly clear that despite the hype, this administration is just more of the same. Here is a list of ten ways that the Obama Administration is shaping up to look a lot like the Bush Administration.

Oooh, he said "the Sovereign People"!! I guess he's one of them thar "right wing extremists" or "domestic terrorists" that the SPLC keeps warning us about!!

MrAmerican76 9 months ago
