"the bedsitter" episode isn't the best example of hancock's acting ability. it might be a bit of an achievement to carry a show single-handed but hancock's real talent was in his reactions to other people
Anyone that didn't like the face to face interview must be extremely superficial. I thought it wonderfully insightful. I love honesty & didn't think less of him as an artist at all but thought alot more of him because of his honesty. certain president administrations & politicians you see lie through their teeth saying what they should say for the sake of popularity shows their hypocrisy in full bloom & I cant stand that sort of person. Far too many sheep brains are impressed with the surface.
I think you misunderstood some of the statements. It's not a question of not liking what he does or disliking his honesty. But it's obvious that the questions are getting to him and are causing quite a bit of discomfort. At times it even looks like they're causing him pain. It's not at all a matter of thinking less of him. It's just that it's a very apparently uncomfortable situation for him, and you can't help but feel sorry and/or worry, especially in light of his later depression.
Rubbish, because Hancock was always discussing philosophy at all hours with people in pubs to outdoor porches. he loved giving himself the stress of having enormous pondering questions to solve & worry over so he could seem important to himself. He brought all this on himself. he can't have his cake & eat it too. if he wants to be a deep philosophical thinker he cant always maintain a zipididodar approach to life or questions that are thrown to him in life or on camera. suicide was his ego!
