I found this lad four years ago after I googled myself and landed on his memorial page, listened to some of his stuff and decided I was a vastly inadequate Sean Costelloe.
As a guitar instructor, I use this song to show my students what true soul is all about. Sean was one of a kind. The way he plays the main riff blows my mind. If there's a rock and roll heaven, just like the song says, you know they've got a hell of a band.
everytime I watch this video it brings a smile to my heart. so sweet and soulful. God must have needed you to lead the band a little sooner. you are loved and missed
this is without a doubt the most talented man I have EVER seen. Of course, everyone loves his guitar playing..but what a voice! OMG, what a voice. He had such soul. When you see a man like this makes you wonder about reincarnation...how could he have been so great, and so young ??? Well, he was a freak of nature that I truly loved...and still do. I still cry when I hear him. The tears used to be from pure joy, now they are mixed with sorrow
@dressagegal I agree wholeheartedly with you. I love how in this video it switches from clips in the studio to clips of his live performances. I only got to see Sean perform live once, in 2002, at the Eureka Springs Blues Festival (AR). His show was, hands down, the best and most memorable of the entire festival. I had never heard of him prior to that and became an instant fan. He still had so much to offer, such a tragic loss.
Sean is a great player/writer/performer. Love the scenes from Northside Tavern. I've been there many times. He's easily as good as people like John Mayer, but never got the fame because he didn't write cheesy housewife pop tunes. He stayed true. RIP!
Unfortunately most housewives don't appear to be into the blues. However you can't blame John Mayer for writing music that you don't like. If he'd written mostly blues, it'd be the housewives complaining. Although it is unfortunate that Costello doesn't receive nearly as much recognition as Mayer, you have clearly found both of them. Appreciate what each of them has done, and stop comparing musicians.
The dynamics on this recording are much better than the original . It seems like Sean felt the music in a different way than the other artists that performed it .
fucking awesome. just found out today. i havent been doing my atlanta blues rounds in a few months. what a fucking shame! one of the best local blues guitarists i've ever seen.
I am lucky enough to have seen Sean perform at the club in the video a number of times. The world has lost an amazing performer. His musical creativity, talent and impeccable taste were beyond his years. I love this song and my heart continues to ache over this tragic loss. Love is amazing and Sean was amazing.
jeeze just thinkin about his loss makes me sick to my stomach, the first time i seen him was last summer and i was sooooo pumped to see him this summer man its such a loss i cant even strive to say how much i feel for his family and loved ones
Ich weiss nicht, wie oft ich mir dieses Video schon angeschaut habe. Sehr oft. Amazing!

I really like this song, and all other songs performed by Sean.
Does someone know where I could find tabs of this song ?
lauker 3 years ago
Its so much snapping all over so tabs could just make it hard to, try to just figure it out yourself, could be easier.
limpstah 3 years ago 3
Lauker: ya, I would definitely recommend figuring it out by ear. Use a slow-down program if necessary.
Tabs are a crutch that will severley hinder your ear training.
