  • attacking with treetop alone was a poor choice facing 3 mana and no concession.

    should've attacked with all 3.

  • I may be a noob by saying this, but at the end when Brandon tried to play a rhox war monk, and Christopher used an agony warp to kill gaddock shouldn't he not be able to counter the monk, as the stack resolves? Unless your can interrupt a resolving stack, in which case I was playing magic wrong my whole life.

  • @Pikajew21 yep, you can play a spell in response to a spell on the stack resolving.

  • LOL!!! why would you path to exile giving your opp a free land when he is short on lands?

  • The Bant Player Is Just Plain Bad I Mean Y Attack With 2 Creatures For 5 When One Has 5 Power And Double Strike And The Guy Is Taaped Out And Again Exalted Triggers It Doesn't Stack The Fae Player Lost The Game Even With The Mistake Soory If U Think U Can Warp In Response Ur Wrong

  • Any particular reason why you played Agony Warp over Nameless Inversion. Just curious.

  • Also, at 1:36 he should have won... 5 damage goes through with double strike meaning faeries loses on upkeep...

  • @UberGusMage You are retarded.. maybe you should go read the rules on double strike because you clearly don't understand what it does.

  • I've watched these and wow, the Bant player had so many bad plays... in game one they could have won if they just attacked with doran (double strike on a 6 dmg attacker) on the second turn of Rafiq being out. Second game they attacked right away with a treetop village even though it would come into play tapped, and even if it didn't it would have summoning sickness. And in this game they should have just attacked with Rafiq at about 0:56, 5/5 double strike instead of a 2/2 plus a 3/3...

  • This was a long time ago, but why the hell did he keep Pathing on your tokens? Not only did he ramp, but that Path could have been used on the Mistbind for example.

There were mistakes, but this one just flat out bothered me.

  • brandon plays like a noob. when he atk he slide the card all the way up. and when he cast a kill spell, he put it on to the cards like i owned that shit.

  • why did brandon scoop? He was up by like, 10 life?

  • @bigfabe12 he couldnt have played anything to stop a deck that always wins

  • @who8mahbacon well i mean, he could pull a card that could screw him over. Its prolly just me, but i gotta play it out in the end. Never know what could happen

  • @bigfabe12 agreed. If only he had a card that said 'you can't play cards if you have a faerie in play' ; )

  • @Lightmane321 thank you. I have an all zombie deck, and I have a card in there, idk what the name is, i forget. But it has fear, and im sure you know what fear means. But anways, I was screwed big time, pulled that card, and he couldnt block me, and i won

  • @bigfabe12 Nice. I think Magic should put out a card that only costs 1 mana & says 'players can't play spells that cost 3 or less mana'

    Just to screw with everybody

Think Vintage, Legacy & Extended might have a problem with it? LOL

  • @Lightmane321 haha, well that angel card is kind of a hair puller. Arbyter angel i think its called. Opponent who plays a spell cant attack, and an opponent who attacks cant play a spell

  • @bigfabe12 That's a good one. So is Teeg. I liked when card games used to create cards to better deal with cards that are too powerful. Magic seems to be trying to see how many powerful cards & combos they can possibly come up with. Of course, powerful cards appeals to the younger crowd, so it makes sense actually, from a marketing standpoint.

  • good stuff

  • Hahaha i like how the only mistake he says is a play error about Agony Warp. This was painful to watch with all the rule errors...

  • Awww come on!!!!!!

  • how does he can counter the liege? he had just 2 faerie tokens + the counter... he needed 4 :/

  • @ullysee bitterblossom counts as a faerie because faerie is in the subtype of the card

  • @ullysee Learn to play. 2 tokens, Sprite, and Bitterblossom.

  • 1:16

I'd lower the power of Treetop Village and kill Rafiq to take only 1 damage from the Village (because of theHierarch exalted)

  • noobs

  • Excuse me but.... Who will the winner of this match Christopher or Brandon? i dont understand the last hability played...

  • wait so who won?

  • ...do you not understand what scoop means?

  • Should tap to the right, since it matters o.O

  • good duel

  • agony warp doesnt kill the treetop village because its exalted and chris would have taken extra damage the attack after that as well

  • most lilkely he attacked without anouncing entering into the attack phase

  • double strike means they deal first strike and normal damage... if it's blocked for the first strike damage and the blocking creature dies, the normal damage doesn't go to the defending player.

  • @littlehill12 LOL WRONG!!!!!!!!!

  • Fail. Double strike =/= Trample. Only trample will let extra damage go through the to player. Learn the rules.

  • Exalted uses the stack mate. He responded to that to kill it before the +1/+1 takes effect

  • even so, rafiq had double strike when he attacked, meaning chris still would have died, and yes you are right about the treetop, it did die; however if brandon declared attackers it would not have killed it...... but he didnt so it dies

  • Brandon attacks with his Treetop, Exalted goes on the stack. Christopher responds to this by playing Agony Warp, Agony Warp resolves before Exalted does giving the Treetop that -0/-3 before it ever sees the +1/+1 from exalted!

  • not true, you can agony warp in response to the exalted trigger

  • shouldn't have pathed if he knew that his opponent was short on mana. he lost when fae got to 4 land.

  • you can't just kill gaddok and then counter his other creature since when you play the counter the gaddok is still alive because the removal spell is still on the stack.

  • Thats why you wait for the removal spell to come off the stack then you play the counter spell before the next card resolves.

  • You wait till the agony resolves then you play de command

  • hey agony warp doesnt kill tree top village cuz when it attacked it was a 5/5.

  • He agony warped in response to the village being declared an attacker.

  • If he played before the exalted resolved yeah he kills it

  • It seemed like the Bant player made tons of mistakes on purpose...like y did he only attack with tree top that didnt make sense at all

  • only attacking with the treetop would've gave a double exalted bonus and double strike. added with the trample, it would've been more damage then if he attacked with everything

  • Sicktiod Is right path to exile gave him the land he needed to play his cryptic command and im pretty sure his path to exile was countered any way

  • It's awesome (if you are playing Faeries) when you play Mistbind Clique. It can completely change the game state. It's a four mana Timewalk! :)

  • Are YOU the bant player? If you are, good playing! :) Too bad you lost, but Faerie's ALWAYS wins. It's annoying. :(

  • no, I'm the Faerie player, lol. I had to sell the deck though because most of the Fae deck is rotating in October. I'm still a fan of control and I play 5CC now.

  • 5CC is awesome. Hopefully you have reflecting pool? :) It works well with vivid lands.

  • Yes, I have 4 Reflecting Pools ( 2 of them are Brandon's actually lol)

  • hey! heweeey1@@@1 treetop village had exalted. you lose faerie guy

  • I played agony warp in response to the exalted bonus. So while the exalted ability was on the stack still, my agony warp went on the stack, then came off the stack first killing the Treetop Village before the exalted bonus came off the stack.

  • Comment removed

  • I think you can see the danger of Path to Exile in this game. That one extra land for the faerie player was the difference between winning and losing I think.

  • does brandon use forest, plains, water, and swamp deck?

  • Sort of a nub to magic, can anyone tell me what Bant tries to do in its deck?

  • bants theme is exalted giving lone attackers plus1 plus1 and doran switches it. hope that helped bud

  • i am playing dark bant =P

  • agany warp wouldnt kill the tree top village cuz it was exalted

  • Mistblind during the upkeep was a miss play. This is an overused tactic by fae players. Most spells are played post combat anyway so holding it until the middle of combat is stronger in this situation.

  • Would seem hard to play a clique with a teeg in play wouldnt it?

  • Teeg says: NON-creature spells costing 4 or more cant be played.

  • LOL. my bad XD

  • The treetop village was a 4/4 so it should not have died to agony warp

  • I killed it in response to the exalted bonuses

  • Dark Bant shouldve side boarded in some infessts or something to sweep the faerie board. Hell even scatter shot archer wouldve been better than nothing. Ideally Qasali Pridemage

  • these are both horrible players... punting sooooo many times....

  • i agree...

  • Completely true.

  • for some reason, the way the guy pronounces gaddock teeg seems to annoy me

  • I pronounce it similarly.

  • Looks like dark bant is a bad match up against faeries.

The faerie player needs to split the targets more with the agony warps.

  • ya, I was kicking myself when I saw the video afterwards

  • watch game 1

  • Brandon has the best possible hand for Dark Bant. That doesn tell me anything about the matchup. Since I cant see either players hand, and i saw Brandon drop his whole hand I can only say that's is the best possible play for Dark Bant.

Does Dark Bant god hand beat faeries on a T1 Thoughtseize, T2 Bitterblossom, T3 Vendillion/Jace?

I took a look at all 3 games, Faeries had answers even on some misplays.

Seeing the god hand tells u nothing. It's like a turn 2 Dragonstorm, just fun to watch.

  • ohh... haha

  • bad play..

  • Awesomeness ~

  • Ouch. He had such a great start but then ran out of steam when he needed it the most.

  • Okay, why the fuck did he scoop if he had at least another turn to live and he could've top decked something amazing?

  • all he had was birds of paradise coming, then a land

  • Well, at least he could've use the birds to chump the champion'd faerie. It wouldn't do much, yes, but it would've saved him for another turn.

  • true, but I also had a faerie conclave to animate and another Cryptic Command. He probably could have waited, but the result would have been the same.
