FWIW I preferred the AC/DC lineup with Bon, more 'cheeky' and fun, (and Powerage is such an underrated album) but Back in Black is the SECOND HIGHEST SELLING ALBUM OF ALL TIME (check it out if you don't believe me) - so there is no doubt at all there was life after Bon!
I know ACDC are good, but one night I heard a live album of theirs and Angus' playing on it was beyond any studio album I'd ever heard from them. Wish I knew what that album was. He played this mad long solo that left me in a different world. He is so under-rated.
BERLIN (Reuters) – A German court has ordered former Thin Lizzy guitarist Gary Moore to pay damages after ruling the guitar solo in his 1990 hit "Still Got the Blues" had been plagiarized from a German song written in 1974.
A court in the southern city of Munich said on Wednesday the solo in Moore's song was too similar to the one in "Nordrach" by the band Jud's Gallery not to have been copied
@keef71 You'll notice I didn't say I didn't say I didn't like AC/DC post-Bon, or that I don't enjoy them. I simply stated that I prefer the singing of Bon Scott to Andy Brian Johnson.
@robinbowes im gonna say it post bon AC/DC SUCKED ASS!! Back in black is the only album i like with brian. everything else sucked asshole! LED ZEPPELIN IS GOD ANYWAY!
@defrancotv but sorry, ACDC Monster Of Rock, just ACDC consist with his genre, and fact shows ACDC always survive with all genre music and still famous in rock people, and back in black is the highest selling album by a band, and ACDC stil solid although now they all getting older but they new album 'Black Ice' still shows that ACDC best rock band ever
good old angus, the only guitarist that can make an SG look huge!
hate the clip, even the ever worthy BBC whistle test take the piss out of rock/metal by sending the northern twat to cover it - obviously not as credible as a nose-flute trio from uzbekistan
@robinbowes so i take it you never listen to anything post-bon? or you might, but make a point of not enjoying it? get over yourself already, maybe you'd prefer it if the band had given up altogether when bon left us?
Was at Donnington in 84' and Dublin in 81' For Those About To Rock tour, the band always rocks.Highway To Hell tour at The Ulster Hall in Belfast in August of 79' way the legend that is Bon Scott will live way me for the rest of my life, each to their own.Bon Scott was thee ultimate front man. Bon Scott RIP.
It's weird that ppl tried to label Ac/Dc as metal in the 80s. If you listen to their records, it's never been metal for several reasons - 1- the songwriting is heavily based in blues and rock and roll - Chuck Berry, Rolling Stones and Cream to name a few, unlike the metal tradition - I mean, The Jack, metal??? 2- the guitar approach, with open chords and old amps in medium gain, and bluesy solos. Not metal. 3- The outfit! SO not metal - they can be a lot of things except metal.
@marcelcruzeiro I agree but tbf, I dont think your first reason is valid, I mean think about it Tony Iommi, blues guitarist, now seen as a godfather of heavy metal, it's more the approach the guitarist takes from the blues, undoubtedly angus and malcolm stayed hella close to the blues, but obviously others just deviated abit further tbf
@slimhotknave yeah it's a shame as the drink got the better of him,he's been in jail a few times in 2008 for constantly breaking restraining orders his wife had taken out, suppose he should've kept his dick in his pants then his marriage would still be OK.I hope he sorts himself out.
@garethac81 You obviously don't understand why the debate continues then. It's simple, when Bon was with them, they were a great band with a great front man when Bon died they got shit. Simple.
@garethac81 I have at least 15 yrs more experience than you, and how do you know what I know. Your ignorance is showing by twice now making nonsense statements. Arrogance and ignorance are not attractive qualities.
"Nonsense statements?" You've summarised 30 years worth of great music by AC/DC as "shit". That includes Back In Black, an album regularly cited as one of the greatest rock albums ever made.
The only "nonsense statements" here are coming from you...and frankly, I have better things to do than pay attention to your nonsense. You've made yourself look an utter fool with your remarks...congratulations, have a nice a day, goodbye.
@garethac81 You're quite an obnoxious ignoramus aren't you. You can live with your stupid little delusion if you like but me and millions of others know you're talking shite. If this wasn't true the debate wouldnt exist. Reality doesn't go away just because you don't like it.
funny really, most people agree that bon was a better front man,i never bought an album after back in black, brian was great on that but they have become more successful so best of luck to them, you cant not love angus anyway
Not bad. Brian Johnson was clearly an influence for joe elliott on PYROMANIA and HIGH AND DRY. Here he's not quite cuttting it! live At least Bon sounded like Bon, on stage...
true. ftatr was always one of those songs where brian couldnt always get all them high notes... but an electric performance, nevertheless! what i'd give to see that show again... and to think that that schmuck thought he wouldn't enjoy an AC/DC and DLR-VH concert! no wonder they cuffed him!
I'm confused. I was at castle donnington when acdc headlined with whitesnake, Blue oyster cult and slade etc (no van halen). I thought that was 1984 but maybe i'm wrong and it was 1983. If anyone can be bothered can you clarify this
Albums have never reached those heights... seen them every tour since and they always put on a great show but that was their Brian height... no doubt.
The new lp is on pace to break that periods individual lp sales. Have you seen the current tour? I definitly think it was better than the last couple.
Seeing the tour in April... very much looking forward to it. Taking my 70 year old dad. Couple of the tracks on the album are great but long gone are the days when every single second of an AC/DC album was genius... and as for sales.... well the sheeple buy what the sheeple buy regardless of quality. We have a funeral in England today of a gross woman who is famous for exposing herself on TV and being racist and the sheeple are lining the streets...
Well, I surely agree with the Sheeple statement. Here in the states it's rampant. I took my 7 yr old son and he shook Brian Johnson's hand 10 minutes into the show. It's on my home page if you care to take a look. I personally iike the new material better than the last several albums. We can't expect them to still be producing lp's as good as everything up to Back In Black. Warning, the new show was the LOUDSET I've EVER seen! Bring ear plugs for your dad. I almost wanted them LOL!!
Excellent I look forward to it... got a great week that week. AC/DC Thursday, Derren Brown (a mentalist) Friday, Derek Trucks Saturday and Dylan Sunday.

Shit that is a helluva week. Derek Trucks is as good as they come on slide. It didn't hurt growing up around the musicians that were always around him.
