thats y i luv saddlebreds cuz there an all around horse....they're perfect at anything...although i ride saddleseat on them but i wouldnt mind trying dressage
Much less rare than Tennessee Walkers, as saddlebreds trot naturally with an inclination to learn how to rack (as opposed to rack naturally with no inclination to learn to trot.)
Saddlebreds are consummate athletes who EXCEL wherever you train then, be it traditional saddleseat, hunters, dressage, or just play :)
lizabeth....from what i've seen in the show season... and the show ring...saddlebred's are known for their saddleseat..and not in the dressage arena...especially grand prix... not that this is not the first one to get there... but...its a rareity in the dressage world.. same as with the tennessee walker.
Back when I rode saddleseat, there was a lesson horse that i rode who would have been a great hunter/jumper. She was about 16 hands and was built like a thoroughbred. I wish that I would have bought her because now I ride hunter/jumper and could use a good show horse...
It's not a first but it is rare. When I was riding Dressage, my trainers friend had a big grey ASB that she showed in dressage named "Footsie" I think his name was MR. Footlights or something like that.
It's nice to see a Saddlebred trained for dressage; offers proof this breed is good for something more than just it's traditional saddleseat, & that they can move quite naturally & correctly! It's a shame more people don't see the value of American breeds that are considered "non-traditional" for dressage. Thank you for exhibiting one of America's breeds in such a fine sport, & sharing your results with the equine community!
saddlebreds are excellent all around horses. Mine does english, western, and jumps extremely well. People are starting to realize the true versatility of this breed and i hope it will become very popular. They have wonderful personality bred into them and not many people worry about color with this breed so its nice to have them breed for confo and personality instead of flash.
i have a saddlebred i'm starting in dressage....she's not quite this good, but it shows that the breed can excel more than just saddleseat. my saddlebred also dose a little jumping, she's pretty sweet!
Saddlebreds are so overlooked and yet many of them are excellent dressage horses. Lovely work here by horse and rider (great hands!).

I love when they switch leads after one stride. It looks like they're skipping =D
About how much does it cost to get a saddlebred, board it, and care for it?

I really like this horse. Its a first for a saddlebred like him to excel in dressage. Are there any like him out there? I guess he is not for sale..
