Hello Christina, you're painting an orange as I can guess.... The orange looks like it has been smashed, it does not look like a sphere anymore but maybe this is how you want it to look like. My question is: Why do you apply same highlights (even the exact spot where the light hit the object) on the same side of the shadow? Please answer. Thanks.

Painting something simple is good practice and for beginners it's trickier than is expected. Paintings of fruit are really great for the kitchen or over the computer desk in the kitchen if you have one.

In order to teach someone to paint you have to teach them how to see what they're painting first. Sorry, but this lady hasn't any eye for texture or composition, and her lighting was wrong, unless they moved the light while she was painting. I've seen paintings of lemons with much better composition and interest in vibrance of colors, strong values, etc. Her orange looks like a flat egg.
