The 240 is a good gun but how fast can you change the barrel out can it be done in less then 5 sec? mini gun is a mounted weapon and it has 200 to 300 foot pounds of force behind it. the hollywood BS is not true, I have a friend the has a mini gun. mg can be carried and its 1200 -1500 rpms is sweet. 42 is the next best thing to a mini gun. I don`t think theirs a mg that can fire as fast . I think theirs a gun called the stinger aka 1919 that can.

no.... not at all.. of all the times ive been tortured by having to watch my friend play cod ive never once seen them reload the mg42 nor did they change barrels and the accuracy was to good, and the sound is way different..
The FG42 is not stable in full auto. The 8mm round is way to big for auto in a battle rifle. I consider the FG42 a auto rifle not a MG. A gun needs a little heft, to be stable with a round like that. The FG42, M14, FAL, G3 are all too light, for accurate fullauto fire past 50yrds.
Your missing the point. Its still a auto rifle, not a MG. you dont have capacity, or good stability. The muzzle climbs like crazy. A bipod doesn't do any good if its off the ground. The barrel doesn't swap out either. It's just not a MG replacement. Im not saying its a bad gun.
The us army stole the idea and made a cheap immitation. I carried the m-60 for four years. The mg42 is the superior machine gun. Even though it fired the 8mm cartridge it didnt matter to me; it was splitting hairs. By far the better machine gun.
I paid $20,000, and it is full auto, and 100% original. Machineguns just don't use FULL sizes rifle rounds like this one anymore. .308 is NOT the same power as 30-06 or 8mm Mauser. It's better for intermediate ranges, not extreme long range.
hey DARIVSARCHITECTVS, where can I find a good MG42?? I dont mind if its German or Yugoslavian but I would like to find one and hopefully get one. been looking for one and can't find one. i betcha that theres still weapons caches over in Europe that still have MG42s that haven't been taken out yet. Europe has to have a lot of MG42s and/or M53s.
