  • Tune your shortwave radios to 6.925 MHz (USB) to receive pirate stations. I am an avid SWL since the 70's, and have had the most luck hearing pirate radio signals on 'upper sideband' on that frequency, especially on Friday and Saturday nights after sundown. Have fun!

  • I like how this is not what the movie is about at all... even the American version isn't anything like this.

  • Oh Americans, typical for them to want their own version of the already brilliant film where it makes the american guy look like the hero of the film!!

  • @WaveIV I know us americans are so stupid!

  • @faceman1995 the song is `give me some loving`

  • whats the song at the very begingin?

  • Lawlz. A 2 minute ad of Cars 2 trailer for a 2 minute trailer

  • @wastedproperty Americans are not pieces of shit, that SPECIFIC american is a piece of shit.

  • HA Is this a joke? I love how the US version of the trailer is nothing like the movie HAHA. They've taken every single bit of the film out of context and made it look as though "The Count" saved rock and roll, when really the film is about nothing of the sort haha. Great Film, why did they have to trick American Audiences like this. Plus they cut 20 minutes from the US version and dubbed it to change the plot, so any Americans who like this film I recommend the UK version.

  • @Richie1989A please link me a video website please cant find one

  • @Richie1989A

    American Bias

Bet you an American Flag waved somewhere in that version.

  • @Richie1989A How does the plot of the UK version differ from the US version?

  • @Richie1989A well I loved the American version so if the British version is better...I'm insanely excited

  • @Richie1989A

Don't get me started on all the american WW2 films

  • Ridiculous trailer indeed, nothing to do with the movie. I so love American double standard. It's a joke ;)

  • It seems like every british Rock n' Roll fan hates on those americans who love good Rock n' Roll just because they claim that America has ruined rock n roll. If theres one message that this film is trying to convey it is that rock n roll is universal and can never be smothered. The least that today's rock n roll fans can do is carry on that spirit.

  • Want to c it!!!!!! Tom sturridge is soooooooo Hott and sexy!!!!

  • fuck the film Pirate Radio! The one american dj and his band of renegades! and the US for essentially destroying this film! It's not the same film!

  • @Veellow101 It's called Pirate Radio in America, it's a re-release of The Boat That Rocked, they cut about 20 minutes out from the original.

  • Wait- where abouts is it called Pirate Radio? In New Zealand, it's The Boat That Rocked... (:

  • awesome movie

  • the trailor was bullshit the movie was awsomec XDDD

  • I watched this on the movie network and it didn't have some of the scenes that it did in this trailer.

  • thikc kevin

  • best scene ever... :D at 1:28

  • Why are people complaining that the trailer points out the American? It's not that big a deal. Yes, that will probably attract the large population of ignorant Americans who think the US is the only important country in the world, but hey: that's movie business for ya.

There are still Americans who will watch this because it looks like a great film (and it is a great film). I watched partly for Phillip Seymour Hoffman, but mostly for Billy Nighy and the amazing soundtrack, and I loved it.

  • thats such a racist trailor!! ROFL...its like spoon feeding americans "hey look another american...come watch movie"

  • hahaha 1:01 censored hahahaha

  • Amazing how they instantly rape one of the greatest movies in the american version of the trailer

  • isn't this movie called "The boat that rocked"?

  • As a old fart now, that lived through this period of British Radio History. I don't care about whos who or what, fact is this was the truth and boring old BBC had only a couple of hours of "pop" music per week. Several Business man decided after being in the states to start up Commercial radio in the UK, the only way was "pirate radio or European stations" I think this film brought back some of the magic and what changed was the BBC to include a new set up with Radio 1,2,3,4. Great film.

  • @wastedproperty you forgot richest. =)

  • what..."one American DJ"...my British arse!

  • It's nothing you haven't seen a hundred times before.

  • why the apple logo in the bottom right corner ?

  • @wastedproperty I want to see the British movie.

  • @nellgwen48 don't we all.

  • @wastedproperty maybe we just wanted to see people with decent dental hygiene. fuck off and don't watch it, you fucking moron.

  • could someone please tell the song at that starts at 0:19

  • @MrKira447 I think its something from the Dropkick Murphys, but I am not sure...sounds like them :D

  • Loved this movie. I can't get mad about any of it because it was so entertaining and the music was the best!!!!

  • love the soundtrack and the actors. GREAT MOVIE

  • It was actually a really good movie, for being the American cut.

  • looks good..surprised I never heard of this movie

  • this is the best movie EVER and the sound track makes so happy...down below lol

  • busy day, LOL

  • I read somewhere there are 2 versions of this movie. One made for British audiences and one cut for American audiences. Does any one know if that's true? I saw an advanced screening of this movie and I felt there was something wrong with it. Like there were scenes or parts of dialog missing. Can anyone enlighten me?

  • @nellgwen48 actually theres only one movie but in the UK it was released under the name: The boat that rocked. or something like that

  • @beta0blaster Thanks. I liked the movie I just wished they finished it.

  • best comedy ever!!

  • @adawilkes1 you know those people on youtube that overanalyze 60's rock movies because the yard stick that they use to measure is most of the trash they've seen in the last 10 years falls short to them when they see real movies...

yup u are one of them hahaha

  • what's the song at 1:18?

  • @dannycalifornia45 Won't Get Fooled Again by The Who.

  • LOL they changed the context of the line 'He is possibly the most famous broadcaster ever' to sound like it was about Philip Seymour Hoffman!

  • this trailer is bullshit, its a british radio station that just so happens to have a american amoungst its MANY djs, god they cant have a single movie where they dont make themselves a hero, did they forget how they came late yo every world war and started ones where they had no business being in, I love this movie but this trailer is bs making it out its american versus brit goverment which it ISNT!

  • Check out My Place by Tokyo Rose

  • Curiously, the basic plot to this movie is much much MUCH closer to the true story of the birth of rock'n'roll on pirate radio with Radio Hauraki in New Zealand, where they DID broadcast from a "pirate" ship off the coast near the city of Auckland in the 1970s while the government went mental trying to stop them.

  • @policemanaaron Eh, it's based on Radio Caroline, a pirate radio station broadcast from a ship in international waters off the coast of England in 1964. So nothing to do with a similar incident half way round the world 10 years later then.

  • @Redemption46 I think it's more that Hollywood thinks that audiences in general have trouble grasping the concept of an ensemble cast. They think they need on main character to root for and a silly, but lovable set of supporting characters and a bad guy.

But this movie is definitely an ensemble cast. There's not really one main character.

  • the boat that rocked

  • I have the DVD and I can watch it more than once. I think it's my favorite movie. The cast and directing is superb and I think I would have had a great time on Radio Rock. Great music too.

  • good movie

  • haha 420,000 views

  • Why is there an Apple watermark on the video?

  • Most underrated movie ever. British humor is just so satisfying, and the music creates such an amazing atmosphere.

  • america hated rock n roll more than the uk america burned the fucking records.

  • @ranbrent That's a pretty broad generalization. I don't remember any "purifying" burnings in my neighborhood.

  • @eeuplad i never stated you burning the records.....

but my bad i never said who done it...politics

  • this is so true i loved this movie best 1 in the world

  • I wish i would've seen this in theaters, i saw it today on dvd, and it was fucking awesome

  • TUUUUTTI FRUUUTTTIIIIIII

  • Still a cool movie despite the blips on genuine facts .. but fun to be around in those times & tune in to all the pirates, it ensured the expansion of commercial radio here in the UK & forced the BBC to relinquish it's broadcasting monopoly & add more stations too ... for the better of us all really ... who'd be without good ol' rock n roll ...

  • Awesome.

  • @arrgahesh Actually you are missing the point entirely. If you watched until the end credits, maybe then you will understand it. I grew up with Pearl Jam, Sound Garden, Nirvana, Alice in Chains, Radiohead, Dinosaur Jr, Sonic Youth, Pixies, Mad Season, Live, A Tribe Calle Quest, Tupac, De La Soul, Tool, Primus, Red Hot Chili Peppers, REM, Smashing Pumpkins, Jane's Addiction, Sublime, etc. Sorry you missed it.

  • Pirate Radio? its called the Boat that ROCKED, its a story about pirate radio in the UK, HAS NO FUCKING THING TO DO WITH A U.S DJ and a band of renegades...p.s he was a UK DJ that went to US. this fails so much for such a great movie.

  • Wait, wait, wait...

"One American DJ...AND a band of renegades?"

Seriously? The Count was a REPLACEMENT for another British DJ they lost to America. Fucking Hollywood. They can't quite grasp the idea that American audiences CAN relate to characters who aren't their nationality.

  • @Redemption46 so true. when the trailer focused on the Count wtf?!?

some of the scenes in the UK version weren't in the US version. not COOL

  • @Redemption46 I'm gonna start by saying I'm british and just curious to see the american ad (yes, that's my sad life). Trying not to be biast (obvious lie) I think it's stupid to portray the Count as the main character too. The boat and the rock n' roll make the film what it is. On the other hand the british advert is shit because it shows the ending. Another pointless comment to be posted!

  • @Redemption46 Yea that pissed me off too. The movie's great though

  • @Redemption46

Fucking Hollywood. I'm just waiting for the movie where the Battle of Britain was won by American pilots.

  • @Redemption46 What sucks even more is that we changed the name of the movie here in the states! I liked the original title, "The Boat That Rocked"!

  • @katebien I would just like to go on record here and say that most of the American movie fans who actually pay attention to the films they watch despise Hollywood for this type of shit as much, if not more, than the rest of the world probably does.

  • @Redemption46 I totally agree with you and im from America. Im surprised we still have this xenophobic problem.

  • @Redemption46 It's called get over monarchy you crazy people. "God save the queen"? Give us a break. Can't you think for yourselves?

  • @Gigi64Marie1 wat.

  • @Redemption46 Perhaps you should watch the film. Despite it being a British film (written, directed and quite apparently being casted nearly entirely with British Citizens) the American tends to be the one with the balls on board the ship. It's a stereotype (whether true or not) and he plays the role of "The American" on board the ship, and thus the one who is the first to jump into the ring swinging. So perhaps if you pulled your head from your self righteous ass, you could make sense of that.

  • @cairnsguy22 oh fuck off. i'm scottish.... so lets face it i have more love for americans than english... but that was the most pig ignorant, arogant thing you could ever have said. you want a steriotype of an american? You are it mate.. I'm imagining you extremely overweight as well as stupid and arrogant of course? And maybe you should watch the damn movie... this adverts dreadful... it makes it seem as if the count is the saviour of the dying boat when the film is about the crew.

  • @MeerkatGeeksSeason Rofl, call the kettle black much? 1. Not American. Good try, jackass. 2. I own the film and have watched it multiple times. Try again? Makes me wonder if all Scots are as blatantly stupid as yourself, and that's not even taking into account your massive lack of ability to utilize the English language.

  • @cairnsguy22 I don't know what your Nationality is, boyo, but I think we can all agree that you're a twat.

  • @cairnsguy22 Right, another thing: you're not American? Explain to me, then, why your channel states that your hometown is Denver?

  • @Redemption46 I forgot that you have to be a national to reside somewhere. Good job, dip shit. Try again.

  • @cairnsguy22 You do if it's your "Hometown."

  • @cairnsguy22 You've watched it multiple times and yet you think it's about an american? you're missing the entire point in the movie.

Also... if you're not even american why are you getting so defensive over this? It's a stupid advert designed to appeal to the type of Americans who are currently standing on the roof of their homes shouting USA CAUGHT BINLADEN! It misses the point in the movie, is degrading to the British and for some reason you're determined to stick up for this advert? Why?

  • @MeerkatGeeksSeason And where did I say I thought it was about an American? Perhaps you should delve into this little thing we call comprehension.

  • @Redemption46 Saw this movie last night. PSH has an important role, but he is not the centre piece of the movie. It's an ensemble movie. Yes, yes, there are people with funny accents, but I believe the movie survives on it's own merits.

  • @kady7869 Oh no, I absolutely love this movie. I'm just irked about the bullshit in the trailer.

  • @Redemption46 we're all people. the only thing that separates anyone is culture and oceans. otherwise, there isnt much of a difference.

  • @thegig1211010 ...or maybe you mean oceans of culture...??

  • @PeterAnakinVader well, if the boot fits. lol

  • It really drove me crazy.Thats what ideal life is

  • It really drove me crazy.Thats what ideal life is.For those who cannot imagine his life without music

  • Tom Sturridge, smoking as always xD

Amazing movie, but I feel like this trailer is very misleading :/

  • this movie is ultimate forever

  • Why did they give that one teen guy a big head? Great movie though

  • I got this movie for Christmas. Best. Movie. Ever.

  • they should have taken Jack Black for the roll!

  • @lilgogeta haha not a chance in hell, jack blacks's comedy is a bit of a joke

  • besides the ending, this movie was pretty damn good

  • Fantastic journey & fun reminiscing

  • definitely misleading

  • the song in the background at 0:19 sound like dropkick murphy im shipping up to boston

  • @revtev3 yeah, a bit.

  • Alright America saves Britan

  • @l0c0ninja Youve been misled mate. This trailer lies entirely about 'the american dj' who came along to 'save' us.

  • @l0c0ninja Afraid not, this trailer is misleading (to appeal to American audiences) in the film the station is NOT started by an American and the comment "he's the most popular broadcaster of all time" is not meant for the American character, like this trailer suggests, but for a British DJ on the station!

  • @l0c0ninja lol

like americans also managed to bravely capture the enigma... etc etc
