Colin did a fair job in the remake, however I grew up with the original and nothing beats Sarandon. He was so subtle and screamed sexiness with his gaze. He had a powerful edge to him that comes from age. He gave off an ancient vibe, that is hard to explain with words. He had a stillness to him that I like in my vampires. The world moves and ages around them, yet a great actor can play that well if can capture the stillness of one who is unchanged around all that changes. If that makes sense.
I'd also like to add that watching the remake, I almost fell out of my clothes when I saw Chris get out of that car. I do not read up on movies I want to see. I like to be surprised. And I was. Pleasantly. :)
