  • Hi everyone, just go out and get the book. This video is much too basic. The whole idea of mind-mapping is to allow you the freedom to explore your thoughts and feelings and come up with lots of new ideas. When you let go and just do it, you will be very suprised with what you have just done. The mind maps drawn in this video are very good and clear, its just that you need to learn more about it.

  • @TrueRoo Thanks for your comment. Just to let you know that this video was made for elementary English students, showing them a useful technique to collect and memorise new vocabulary. That's why it is very basic. Although I'm a keen mindmapper and actually work for Buzan's company from time to time, my work is language teaching, so this video must be seen in context. By the way, Buzan's first book, 'the mind map book' is by far the best - although there is plenty of info on the net for free

  • @jonlewisprovence Thanks for your reply Jon. I didnt realise who you were aiming the video at. For elementary students this is very good. And don't get me wrong, it is great to introduce it to someone who never heard of it before. All I was saying was if you want to know more, just go out and get the books. I love mind mapping. It is very helpful. I find mind maps also help my creative writing. Thanks again.

  • @TrueRoo What is the book, where do i get to me in Australia ?

  • I've watched these videos on mindmapping and read wiki on it and still have not idea what the point is. Is just an elaborate word game? I don't get it. What do you do with it? None of these seem to talk about that.

  • Thanks thats was enlightening!

  • I may be missing the point here. But what is the point in wrighting down something you alredy know.

  • thank you i use mind mapper and its lovely

  • Its an interesting statement "I Am" because if you really think about it, you are not your job, you are not your body, you are not your status you are not your age, activites, memorys, emotions, etc etc!

Those are all just objects. Who is the true self, the observer that was exactly the same in you no matter how many years ago you look back...?

  • Having said that, we dont want to many genii, there might be anarchy. I say stick to the traditional methods, and keep the kids dumbed down and under control.

  • They should make some computer drawing software that is specifically designed for mind mapping.

  • @sonofhendrix They do :) There is a lot out there.

XMind, Freemind, etc are free. Some like NovaMind and MindNode Pro are commercial.

There is even mind mapping software for mobile devices (iPhone, BlackBerry, Palm, Android, etc)

It just depends what you want/need to do. :)

  • Mindmapping on the BlackBerry!

  • tu es franciais ??? this the same type of sugestive reinforcement whit anchors at the beginning. That could work wth anykind of good persuasive mind conditioning over a few week or even less depending of the timing and the willing of doing it

  • The information in this video was a bit meagre.

  • You're right, I don't go into much depth. I made the vid for French speakers (I live in France) who are learning English, and was intended as a vocabulary exercise, not brainstorming or creativity.

  • Can you do this with math?

  • Nice... just wondering where you got that sw from ?

I like that little challenge at the end too... Reminds me of my teacher who loves the concept of mind mapping...

  • The software is Buzan's imindmap, which I got for free because I worked on his Language Revolution project.

You can download it on trial at the imindmap site.

  • Thanks for the quick reply... I suppose ill give the trial a go then. Trying to improve my thoughts and study, especially memory

  • You can get the iMindMap for free on LimeWire or Emule
