what is the best type of soil that garlic should be put in? my yard ranges from dry pine needle filled soil.dry gravel/soil.. to wet soil from an underground spring

thanks for sharing this. I put my first cloves in the ground this past fall and so far so good. They over wintered with a few green stalks but over the past few weeks have taken off. Thanks for sharing the helpful information.

humm like he says the bulb still grew to a nice size, but yes its best to cut the flowers off as soon as you see them.

i left some of mine on last year, its amazing. the flowers are beautifull and i now have about 50 baby garlic pants. i think my favorit aspect of the baby garlics is when i make pickels or cook, i can just throw in a few pinches of em.
