  • Just keep the myth alive. Welcome to the medieval where everyone believes in witchcraft and other wonders.

  • try the lamp

  • It doesn't work for me? Can u help me?

And how do I know that my sensor bar is broken? Maybe its my wiimote?

  • @wtdvjp Try using your mobile phone's camera to look at the sensor bar when it is plugged in. Most camera phones seem to pick up the infra red light as a feint indigo-white light. If you can't see it then it may not be working. Try on a remote control and you'll see the same light.

  • PLEASE HELP... i bought a cheap wireless sensor bar off of ebay and it works but when i go on the same setting menu that this shows..... both lights are supposed to be flashing. i can only get either both on or one on and one flashing???

  • Does anyone know how to fix a sensor bar when you try to wave the remote and it gets no signal? What should I do?I had one, ordered another one but no luck.Help please.

  • That is probably the most deadly thing I've seen in a while.... bout time I got something for free, I've paid so much with the consoles and games and when the sensor bar died I was pissed, Just set the candles up in front of the dead sensor bar and bam.... 5 star for this invaluable information

  • HOLY SHT AWEZOME!!!!!!

  • i tried and the candles fell so i have no tv and no wii =[

    THEY BURNED

  • that's unfortunate. Always use candle with care.

  • it does work,i have to that EVERYTIME i turn on my wii

u can also use just ONE candle and a mirror

  • wish id known about this christmas day, our rabbit chewed the wire,so no wii,and dissapointed children, found out this trick, and was amazed it worked

  • amazing

    XD

  • marvellous, just marvellous

  • I was in the sensor bar menu, where you set the sensitivity. You can see the points the controller can see and adjust it so there's only the 2 dots from the sensor bar visible.

If you were to leave the sensor bar on and light the candles you would see 4 dots.

  • i dont get it. what do u do for it? do u go to a certain screen or just unplug the sensor bar with 2 candles where it would be and the controller works?

  • it works with 2 CDs and a flash light too

  • you have a funny voice ^.-

  • Thanks, I'm from Shetland.

  • i tried this trick too and it worked!

but only at around 4 feet away from the candles.

  • Lol, he was making fun of you, no need to say thanks to him.

  • I saw it as a compliment.

  • this is amazing and it works cauce i do it all the time!

  • its so fake OMG it makes no sense! if the sensor bar is unpluged how can candles work as a sensor bar? obvisily the have another sensor bar hidden some where. I have a wii and don't care to try it, BECAUSE ITS FAKE

  • It's explained below, the sensor bar just gives of infra red light, as does a candle.

  • this is so freakin insane that i accidentally broke my sensor bar trying this!!

  • yeah i tried this its crazy

  • Thats awesome

  • the sensor bar has lights?!?!

  • Yes, the inside is comprised of 5 LEDs on either side that give off infra red light.

  • yeah but in this video you can see 2 white lights coming from the sides of the sensor bar.

  • It's the camera phone. It picks up the infra red as white light. try it yourself with the bar or a remote control.

  • k thanks.

  • yeah... it's the ir light as seen by the camera.

  • this is very simple. The sensor bar emits IR light. There are multiple IR LEDS on the sensor, but the wii-mote will perceive each group of IR LEDs as 1 IR source.

With these 2 groups of IR bulbs, the wiimote sends the location of itself to the wii.

2 candles will make a large more effective source of IR and thus it works better.

  • I LOVE YOUR ACCENT <3

  • Thanks!

  • erm Reikai or watever you're name is i love the wii best console so far i do believe the trick and yet i still play xbox 360 and ps3 and i say that they are still good but the wii is best

  • omfg this ctually woorkss

  • Wow u are all N00bs exept meex45 he is totoaly right i tried it it works and the wii remote sends info to the wii any way why dont u think nintendo would just hook them up togther-ur all n00bs exept mee3x45

  • I can do it again if you really want, and show you without any doubt that it works. That, or you could just try it...

  • Hey, you know what Ben Franklin said? A stupid person is only such, if they try very hard to stay stupid. So shut up, and go learn a thing or two, if you have a Wii, try the candle trick yourself moron. That would be a LOT easier than denying it. I don't even have a Wii, and I definitely know it is entirely possible because of the radiation that flames give off is close to the spectrum that IRLEDs give off.

  • i actually did and it works*im surprised*

  • Thanks

  • Unless the N00b137s have mirrors on there heads to reflect the sun at the wiimote, then they'd work fine.

P.S. Thanks for the explanation, I tried explaining it above but your explanation made more sense.

  • how the hell did that work, how r the candles linked to the Wii, i just dont get it.

  • They aren't linked to the wii, the sensor bar (which isn't really a sensor at all...) just emits infra red light at either side, the same light is emitted by the candles, so are a suitable replacent. You could use the sun and a couple of mirrors if you wanted, but that would just be silly.

  • bull shit the sencor bar records movement by the wii remote and send the info to wii if people beleive this shit they make me look smart

  • Shut up, you are completely wrong. Take apart a sensor bar and you will find 10 ir LEDs, nothing else. People have made wireless sensor bars this way.

  • i tryed this trick on vid and it didnt work ill try it again

  • Cool, so I just need to light the candles and I have a custom wireless sensor bar. ;)

    Nice video.

    Mincle

  • someone could have easily plugged it back in while you were lighting the candles.

  • You can see the light from the bar in the camera. And can see when it's turned off. Try it yourself and see.

  • Cause the candles are really hot, they emit alot of Infrared Rays. Thats the same kind of light (or very close on the EM spectrum) that the sensor bar outputs. ;)
